I have watched your videos because I am facing a possible surgery for a very large hiatal hernia that is engulfing almost my entire stomach and some intestines. I am 76. Your videos were very helpful and I am glad that you made them. I am very happy that you are doing well and I wish you continued health.😊
Frank, glad to hear you're doing well. Thank you so much for sharing this video. It's very hard to get people to give updates after they go through these type of surgeries. Thanks again and best wishes.
HI Frank! Thank you for sharing your journey. All that you are saying resonates with me. I am having the Tif and hiatal hernia repair soon. I am so glad to hear you are doing better.
Frank, I am so happy you are feeling better. I had the TIF 4 months ago and just by chance I watched your 4 month video. The TIF surgery is as you know a major surgery no matter how you dice it. I think that is what most people underestimate. I have had more ups then downs. But now I seem to be ignoring the information and directions that were given. The surgery is supposed to be complimented by changing your diet for the rest of your life. I am specifically talking about eating slower and less at one setting. I am horrible about this. I have now eaten everything that I did before. But with caution. Like now I have bloating and when I eat (TOOO Fast) I get a instant flush feeling and my nose plugs up. And also a horse throat. But I feel fine in the morning. I need to see the Doc to see if this is an adjustment and I need to straighten up or maybe hypersensitivity , gastric emptying or hopefully nothing broke. Please don't think that I am referring to you. Just putting this out there for any readers. My post diet was so different from what I had read from other. 5 days soft and two days liquid before the surgery. Soft diet for two weeks after until my follow up. Then I was pretty much released to medium soft foods as long as I chewed them well. I hope this was a good choice from the Doc. I did get esophageal spasms from time to time from trying to swallow too much by accident. One will learn quickly. I call it the log dry heave! Anyway Thanks for posting your videos. Very informative!
I am like you. I eat a lot and quick and I flush and my nose congests as well as it becomes harder to breathe, my diaphragm stops me from breathing. Just like you, I feel fine before eating in the morning. I have no surgery, I've just started trying PPIs. I'm 90 kg and 168 height though. I have a lot of excess weight. What could the issue be? Would I need surgery? And if I lose weight etc could I live with this with lifestyle adjustments?
Hi Frank. I appreciate all the effort you have put in with these updates. Could you elaborate on what medication you were referring to in the video...? P.S. I'm happy to hear you got things back on track. The PPI's I'm currently taking have done next to nothing for me.
I'm sure you already understand but disclaimer: I'm not a doctor and am not recommending a medication or medical advice. What I was given was prescribed by my doctor for my situation. Always consult with your doctor. Med I was given was Amytriptyline. PPI did really nothing for me either.
Hi Frank, thank you for these videos really helps those of us considering the op. Can you let me know whether you can burp and vomit as normal? I hear those that have surgery cannot burp or vomit? All the best.
Hi, I am considering the surgery as well. Right now I am gathering info if trying physiotherapy would make sense. But it's quite hard to communicate with doctors here and some of them have very firm opinions, which often don't really make sense. After that I would go with surgery as well. What is your status?
Yes. I can burp normally. It took quite a while to get back to normal burping and I was VERY careful initially. I have not had the need to vomit in MANY years so cannot say on that one.
Not any more. Still do weight training but not power lifting. I think I could do sports but I don't for other reasons, not stomach related (bad knees, ankles, vertigo, etc)
I hope to get to your happy place also..I need to know..were you diagnosed with GERD? or LPR? a few doctors told me the TIF doesnt really help with LPR?
Hello, i'm struggling with really bad acid reflux, burping and chest tightness. Medication has not worked. Do you think its too much to think about having surgery when i still haven't seen a GI or done an endoscopy
@StrongBlaze101 Burp, yes. Vomit, not sure. I assume so and don't worry about it but I haven't vomited in at least 14 years if not more. Not really been sick and had the need.

Thanks. Glad I could help in some way. Good luck to you! My thoughts are with you.
Hello Frank. I'm happy for you that you are good as of right now. I'll be interested in future updates on the matter
Thanks. Hopefully they will be few and far between and that'll mean I am still doing well.

Some myths about hiatus Hernia surgery after some time 5 to 7 years come back with same symptoms why 😢😢😢?
Because it's not natural for your stomach to be altered and eventually gravity takes it's toll.
@@paulabillanes5084 why🥲?
I hope to get to your happy place also..I need to know..were you diagnosed with GERD? or LPR?
a few doctors told me the TIF doesnt really help with LPR?
They said Gerd but I always questioned it
Are you doing better ?
Did get your symptoms back
