Hi, thank you! In this case I used the UAD plugin versions. I recorded it directly with the inserted plugins. I often use my hardware unit, the UA 710d, a great preamp! But, to be honest, the unison preamps are so good, that you nearly don't hear any difference.
@@ErixSamson No, I don't think so. I think to use it in the virtual UAD console and have the plugin used in UNISON mode is important. Then you can use the 610B as a "real" preamp, if you know what I mean. And also very important: If you have a great sound while you're recording, you play better ;-) My goal is always to record it with perfect sound, so I don't need to fix it in the post production...
@@FrowinIckler Got it. I don't have an Appollo audio interface, but I do have some Spark UAD plugins, including preamps. I'll try adding one of those UAD preamps plugins on my Input Track, and see if I can get something not too far from what you are doing 🙂
Hi, thanks! The pickups are the original ones with masking tape over it, so it makes no sizzl when I'm touching the polepieces. I like them. Depends on what is your (or your drummers) starting point. If you are more into gospel like hifi-ish sound with lots of treble you or your drummer won’t like it. If you’re more into vintage or precision bass sounds , like me, you will like it. I especially like the bass because of its Humbucker tone that is darker then most active basses. So , what are you looking for?
@@FrowinIckler I probably just need to adjust the pickup height. He records practices and we just got back together after a decade. At practice I’ve been running through a solid state amp of his to a DI and my slap on the DI track often causes a very aggressive pop on the B string. I experience the same thing at home through a DI but less often, probably because I get a little more aggressive in my playing at practice. I also typically record via a microphone and old Traynor tube amp at home for something more finished-the gain seems to even it out. The pop isn’t clipping, but it’s very easy to see in my waveform.
@@MayorZeidler Yes, maybe that's the solution. And maybe you could also try out the masking tape over the polepieces ;-) I hope you can adjust the PU height, because at my bass the pickguard sits so tight that it's hard to do this.

Huge sound! That MonoNeon JB sounds great. Are you using the plugin versions of 610B and LA2A or real hardware ones?

Thanks, impressive result. do you think the native spark versions deliver the same quality?

Great pick. I’ve also got a MonoNeon bass-drummer hates the stock pickups on them, what pickups are you using?

hot bass! is that a production model?
Yes, this is a Fender Mono Neon Signautere Jazzbass.
