It'd be cool if the MRAP's could be disabled without killing the crew, I mean they were designed to be Mine Resistant after all. This video is a prime example of why they were built, a mine hit like that IRL would've just blown apart the engine bay and front axle, but the crew compartment would've skidded down the road intact allowing the 3 players inside to keep fighting. Might be a little unbalanced but it would make coalition forces more comfortable mounting up just like they are IRL, and especially in these one life events it would help make MRAPs way more useful for actually moving troops into combat since they wouldn't all get blown away with the vehicle.
I always thought that being able to one-shot any heavy vehicle was pretty lame. I'm fine with them being disabled but going straight into the black screen of insta-death after your MTLB or Bradley ran over a mine was too much but that's balance for you. Seems like the new patch will change that hopefully.
Inappropriate use of vehicles is definitely what lost this one. That and people not keeping lines of sight on the enemy. Everyone staring at an embankment for 10 minutes isnt going to help your objectives
IMHO - He put all the eggs in one basket (bridge). I would have at least laid smoke on the neighboring bridge with one MRAP on over-watch as a deceptive intent. I saw no military advantage to stringing out two squads for 600 meters with their back to a river and their front at a kill zone. You're just asking for failure. Good use of smoke tho! That weapon is often overlooked.
Christopher, I agree, why do they think that a vehicle with such limited visibility can survive like it was an island? Germans learned very quickly in ww2 you must have combined forces for it all to work. Also, why where there no one using 40mm grenades into open windows? I would think you could whack an entire room full of them at a time.
I was looking for a comment like this one, I would assure Karmakut that I would have done a better job as one of the commanders in this one, I have no military training but I'd love to join the military and these vids are great and realistic, thing is that y'all infantry need some common military sense, plus I'd call out the Bradley several times in this video as likely for the third team in command of swiping mines... Really bad job as breachers none made it alive but as said, I have no good computer to join y'all and have some fun but damn I would've dealt some damage to the enemy squad, great try to blitz but too slow too... If fourth and second team followed the first mrap instead of reacting to the "mine indication" they would've at least have stood a 45% chance to deal a 50% of a 100% damage of the blitz to the enemy squad, I know this ain't no NFL but y'all know what I'm trying to say, I'm just really into war and games gives you the opportunity to grow some balls in the field, so I would've sped it up a lil more, better luck next time for the attacking team, great game great edit and great try. Feel free to reply💯
I don't know if you have any military experience, or how accurate you're trying to be, but here's a tip for future reference, in the army, we would've put true Bradley on point because of the Armor and firepower advantage it has. It just makes sense for the first vehicle that comes under contact to be the most Armor one right? Ideally there would be 2 Brad's in the front and 1 in the rear providing rear security, in your case, that would probably be covered by an MRAP. For bridge crossings, you would kick the dismounts from the lead Brad and they would walk about a hindered metres in front of the convoy scanning for explosives (in the real world engineers have to check the top and bottom and rate the bridge according to how much weight it can hold, but obviously that's not important in a video game) lastly, I can't say that I've ever seen vehicle drivers or gunners dismount, you usually want to have the vehicle ready for the dismounts to get in and go and the gunner provides security on the vehicle
The Bradley tactics in the beginning were fucking spot on to how it would be played out in a real situation , good shit. brad internal comms in real life for the exact maneuver in the vid would be like this.. Gunner: Identified troops 200m 12 o clock ( or what ever it would be) BC: Roger. (passes it up to higher ) Identified troops 200m 12 o clock, Coax (or HE) selected. Gunner: Roger BC: Fire when ready Gunner: on the way (Boom boom boom) BC: target, driver back. BC then sends a BDA to higher. Or something similar haha. Sorry just got excited seeing that in game for some reason....
That match was an example of how incompetence pretty much leads to failure if squad 3 did their job competently then probably the match would have been won that mine exploding destroyed one of the MRAPs instantly a very much valuable asset with both fire and man power and sent the other into confusion which led to it being destroyed quickly after which pretty much caused the defeat but all in all what a wonderful realistic match it was like watching a real war documentary not a movie indeed
I mean I knew the Raid was over when I saw half of the Grunts dying on the damn Bridge, could've easily been avoided had 1. mines been cleared thoroughly and 2. Armor pushed first instead of the boys. That bridge had no cover at all except for the smoke and even then, it wasn't spread out effectively.
This is a great example of how important training is down to the individual level. in the heat of battle you cannot afford to micromanage. competent, well trained soldiers and squad leaders are better than the best plan you can come up with. so many losses could've been avoided simply by brushing up on battle drills and vehicle tactics.
Being a mortar man, I hate seeing people just put them out in the open. They are specifically made for shooting over hills, mountains, and building. Leaving them out in a flat plain field is pointless....and triggers me ;-;
i think they put it there to be in one line with the bridge, so that the mortar could easily shift shots forward, without the need to change direction. and they knew they wouldn't be attacked from anywhere else but the front.
This was so sick to watch, seeing those guys crawling along the waters edge like navy seals and when that Bradley started covering for them. You’d never see this in any other game other than Squad. Plus the voice comms make it 100x cooler 🔥
I'm from a motorized infantry battalion in the Singapore Army. One mistake you guys made was leaving the Bradley all alone in a really exposed position. You should always bring the vehicle forward to a position that is close to your platoon, and also concealed by some form of cover whether it is vegetation or solid cover (e.g. like a building). Leaving the Bradley all the way at the back with no protection and communication leaves the dismounted troops and the vehicle itself vulnerable to enemy flanking maneuver.
You weren't too late. They just weren't listening. There was plenty of opportunity for them to avoid that mine. You did your part. It was 3rd squad that F-ed up by not clearing that road.
Good team work for a video game, but what I don’t understand was, why did this leader sent all his men on that one bridge, increasing the risk, and then smoke the bridge and runs in there without knowing where they are getting shot from, instead why didn’t they split into 2, advance on both bridges, use the smoke on coast lines while infantry pushes up and take point and take cover, while armored vehicles provide suppression fire, during the confusion, send a squad and flank the enemy
never leave your Bradley without at least a pair of infantry support, GPMG gunner and a sniper. had you left just two lads behind to protect the Bradley, it would have survived and this mission would have been different. great video
