This young man has worked so hard to create these spectacular min-reef tanks. I've seen them in person and they are gorgeous, easy to set-up and maintain. Order one! (Disclaimer: I'm his extremely proud Mom!)
The "small-in-one" is a fantastic idea for an office tank! Big enough for small crustaceans, a few corals, and super easy maintenance. 1 Gallon is the easiest 100% weekly water change ever, which means excellent stability. My only concern would be evaporation over a weekend leading to salinity spikes. Then again, a 1 gallon RODI jug and some sort of miniaturized ATO paired with it would be the easiest starter reef ever. If you move on to a larger tank like a 40 gallon or 120 gallon, you could always use this awesome "small-in-one" as a coral quarantine system.
Thank you for your support! It comes with lids for the filtration area along with the display, to keep evaporation low. Needs to be topped off every 2-4 days with ~40ml of water
I took one of these home! I'm so excited to dive into it! 😄 That, and I love Mark, his insight and his content. I was absolutely floored to see him walk by me while I was having a sandwich. So I asked if he could stop for a quick pic ^_^ Made my weekend!
This is cool! Jake over at ReefBuilders has a video on setting one of these up. They look like a really fun idea. The "Small-in-one" is a great name too!
I love this tank! Works very well! It is easy to set up already having a 100gal LPS tank I took things from. It’s on my fireplace mantle. I hid the components like ATO and temp controller in a decorative vase as well as one for the ATO reservoir. Can’t wait to see how it ages!
I'm trying to do a DIY version of this and can't find that light anywhere except these AIO setups...Does anyone know what this light is called or something similar to light a
No timing or control on the lights? So you have to manually turn the light on or off. Worse, if you connect it to a timer, the pump and heater will switch off as well, because they are powered via USB ports on the light. To run a timer on the lights, you'd need separate power sockets for the hater and pump. Throw in an ATO (almost essential for something this small to run long term) and you're using up between three and four sockets for a 1/4 gallon desk tank.
If they grow, they can be transferred to a larger tank. It's a great way for someone who is interested in reef tanks to get started inexpensively and on a small scale before investing in a big tank.
This is a great idea but it’s way overpriced. This tank is more expensive than my waterbox 15g nano. If they dropped the price they would make 1000x more money.
Is this really what's best for the organisms? Haven't we had the discussion about stability, and how water volume affects it? At a time when "the hobby" is under more scrutiny than ever, how is this even a THING?!?!

Just received mine yesterday. Spent the day setting it up. Turned out amazing. Thanks PNW custom!

Harley is awesome! Great video!
Innovative product but my question is how much does need to do water changes?
What ato can I put on the micro one
So you’re doing a 100% water change weekly? Isn’t that bad for the coral to change all of the water at once like that?

MBIC do you even sonoff?
I suspect that the majority of corals you see in there won't actually live long/be happy in it for long term (4_6 weeks)
Why do you suspect that?

dip a tank in a another tank LOL

It does look like a lot.
But think about it. So small everything was custom made probably.
Even reef builders is saying it's hard to keep anything alive in it. It's all show.
Delete my question.
