Thanks for covering this, such an important point - it's more than okay it's vital to speak up as a community when this kind of thing happens otherwise it doesn't get made right.

Ye it feels so childish and knee jerky to just remove the art like that. Separate the art from the artist and let this one piece slide, just don't add more...
I agree with this. It reminds me of Blizzard retroactively changing all these hidden references to their ex devs in their games

If the bundle cannot be purchased with gold, then it cannot be properly refunded with gold. Purchasing these variants with real world money is what makes them special. I split that card twice, was one of my favorites to date. A closer analog would have been 5000 Collector Tokens, so those affected could claim an Ultimate variant.
Token Tuesday usually gives 1000 tokens for 1400 gold and 105 boosters, so if you spend all the 8000 gold in that you get a cost of 7000 gold for 5000 tokens, leaving you with an extra 1000 gold and 525 extra boosters. So i think it's even better than what you asked
@@alessandrogualandris8294 Compensation shouldn't burden the consumer to maximize an in-game resource. I appreciate you doing the math on it, but the result would be an increase in tokens requested, not being content with 8k gold.
@@Rocketblaze i mean, it's not burdening you to maximize, it's allowing you to choose more: you can get the tokens for a ultimate, or for a new card, or you can buy for example 10 800 premium random mistery and get 11 skins and 2000 tokens (the number of skins obviously varies of you buy 700 or 1200 skins), or you can wait and use that in future bundles, or in any kind of cosmetic like Borders and emotes, or even just straight up credits for spotlight keys. Gold is the currency that unifies all the others and converts to them, so them giving gold to you is the best option in my opinion

@@alessandrogualandris8294 When the correct way to rectify the situation is to give a payment refund, anything else is a consumer burden. People bought something, SD violated their own ToS, then they didn't want to lose revenue to the backlash so they gave out gold. Am I personally content? Yes, but I was going to purchase those resources anyway. What about anyone who has limited funds & highly valued that art? They just got the rug pulled out from under them and instead of being able to buy the next cash variant they actually want, they have a pile of gold.
Did they say how we will be receiving the gold?
You hit it with these 2 vids. I was impacted and I’m glad that it worked out, speaking plainly for myself if even the gold comp was 4k for example I’d be happy aswell
My main point being that 1200 was an absolute joke. But I’m satisfied with their comp !
I originally was bummed put when I saw they swapped the variant. I actually had it set as my favorite, I just liked it that much. I can understand why they changed it but as a consumer it felt really bad how they just took my mo ey and then the thing I had purchased. I am glad they are being more fair compensation but I would rather they just didn't do this ever again.

1200 gold was proof of just how greedy and out of touch their decision makers in charge have gotten. It was not just the variant they took away, it was the avatar too that they neglected to even account for with their supposed "analytical approach" of 1200 gold for a "Super Rare variant". What about the price factored for te avatar? Aren't those usually 400 gold? And this variant and avatar are worth more than the typical variant/avatar because they are limited, not sold year-round. And I feel bad for anyone who wasted their time getting an Infinite Conquest avatar for that avatar, because it just got replaced by the meme Gambit one. They should have given those players a freebie Infinite Avatar to compensate.
I'm sure most players will be happy with the compensation but in my opinion the damage has already been done. Second Dinner reminded players that they don't own the variants they buy and that the variants can be changed or removed at anytime.
The idea that a bundle variant was equal to 1200g when the whole point is bundle variants will never be available in the shop again was so dumb. Disappointing a lot of people in the space were willing to go to bat for that.
Uproar was the only thing that got us what we were owed, they were happy with just compensating 1200 don't forgive their greed, that being said I am happier with my extra 8k gold over the 1200.
When will they be giving the compensation?
a timetable has not yet been given, but in the past its usually within a week of the announcement
Marvel snaps response was written by a person.. a real person! This is first signs of life from their department that deals with funds, compensation, economy.. this is wild and pays respects to largely what NomNom and the community have spoke about yesterday .. I think I think. The I increase to 8000 gold is good and manages player expectations, but some part of me thinks wow.. they did something like actually did something, dealing with marvel snap domestics must be tiresome, americas, Eu, Asia and the rest of the world isn’t run by one team in one place so something like this had to be escalated quite dramatically for a response that snowballed like this after 2 months since the card was in the shop and action being taken now with authority over the last 3 days, full clarification and taking responsibility, condemned and continued .. wild times wild times indeed
I bought the bundle for the resources but the variant being really cool helped the decision. 8k feels like a good compensation for me and I actually appreciate how they ended up fixing a screwy situation. You could tell this caught them super off guard and I can guarantee their legal team will go through all existing variants to make sure they are good while doing a little more due diligence going forward. If it happens again I think it is valid to completely trash second dinner but the fact that this was a left field situation that they clearly had no plans on how to deal with doesn’t make me feel like the company is any greedier now than they were before this.
At least they made an effort of winning their trust back, thats something but i would say, that gambit variant they removed sure looks nice
They should have let us pick a gambit variant, i bought this bundle for that variant, Bought a 5/5 variant and was compensated with a 2/5 variant….
What about the other variants. The upcoming Cannonball looks awesome. Or the previous Juggernaut. Will they be removed?
They've completely lost my trust though, they won't be getting more money from me outside of the season pass and I'm not even sure about that

I still disagree that they had to do this but not gonna say this is bad. It's good.
I do think it's telling though of what some one really cares about if they were upset about the variant then they get this Gold and all sudden happy. As I am more of the opinion if you actually cared about that and not the currency you would get a refund as what you cared about is the variant.
And my point still stands as general rule that companies shouldn't have to bend to what subjectively people think the value is.
But I digress 8K gold is a massive freebie for anyone who didn't care in the first place and for those who did well lets see how it changes your stance, maybe ya should demand more and see what happens lol.
They are only doing this cause of backlash, they should definitely give a full refund . 100$ doesn't = fake currency that they lose nothing for. Except the loss SD, refund and move on.

I purchased the bundle specifically for gambit.I can’t take a chance on purchasing anymore bundles due to what anyone associated with marvel snap has done in the past,present or might do in the future.
When is the refund dropping? Do I need to do anything?
we don't have a specific timeframe yet, but no you shouldnt have to do anything it should be applied to all who bought the bundle

I think it’s really outrageous to do those things without any notice, and don’t even think about refunding the people right away instead of this bullshit compensation. I don’t even play the game anymore and it’s this kind of things that made me quit

But SD already did their job, and that is make player aware that SD is shiitandgreedyidiod.
especially they have a freak called "ghost" in their team. Ghost is simply nolifeidiod who might suggest the1200 gold.
