In person it’s MUCH more accessible than nascar
Trans Am... most American road racing series, but gets the least TV time and participation :( yet the racing is always great!
Honestly, youtube and smart TVs have made it really easy to follow nowadays.
But yeah... wish TA was infront of more eyeballs.

Something about having a Brit announcer doesn't resonate. Also only 10 cars. This series needs to get back to what it once was before tv will take an interest. Only 7 entrants at Brainerd back in July. But oh do they flat out fly!

If the TA cars are too expensive to fill the field, make the entire class TA/2. This format is simply going to confuse perspective fans. But the sanctioning body already knows this
Its still better than todays nascar. Group C and Trans Am was once the king. Nascar was important to me once but no more. They dont even use production blocks any more. The cars are way ugly too. But the 911 was always in Trans Am. There was nothing like it man. Americans & Europeans having a road race war.
I think it’s just interest, gt3 cars cost 500k+ and you see big fields. These online seem to be 320-380k. If interest and people want to race, bigger fields of ta may be possible.
Great Racing, while it's good, makes me happy Australia and NZ have gone with one engine package for the whole field.
Thats horrible! They went the way of today's nascar. Ugly cars that aren't relevant & don't even use a production block and cylinder heads. Which was nascar's purpose. A 1991 Thunder Bird was a 1991 Thunder Bird just way lower w/ the killer 12.5" wide tires on it. Customized Thunder Bird SC's sold like hot cakes. Too bad. I've seen some cool Australian Race cars w/ the best production motors.

I was almost ready to get on board Trans Am racing over how awesome it is to see American road racing.
But then I found out that almost every car is a Chevy powered which turned me off.
I'm a GM guy but I watch races to see what the competition is between makers as well as drivers, teams, etc.
This is better than nascar it's like classic nascar but better

He does not respect others while they are speaking. As if what he is about to say is more important than anyone else.
You may think its rude but you got to remember that they in different rooms and the time delay between them all may be a little off, they all talk over each other at times. And as for annoying, nowt more annoying than that jeremy shaw on imsa coverage.

How can Australia put say a Holden production car 🚗 or something like that in the American trans am series I'd love to see this happening in my life time and say a yearly race at our greatest race Bathurst the track would be suitable size for the event as Bathurst is Australia's biggest track I know off

Someone explain Trans Am to a IMSA fan. Where do these cars stand as compared to a gt3 car? What difference is there between the cars?

I think they’re more powerful but only a guess
I'm no expert, but...
Trans Am has like 5 classes at the moment. XGT is the newest one and I believe it is for former GT3 cars.
There's also SGT and GT, which I think are more production based.
TA2 has the strongest field, they are tube frame cars, with some cost caps the keep it affordable (think like Xfinity cars).
TA is the fastest, but there aren't many of them. They are tube frame like the TA2 cars, but have more power (850hp), more grip, they're wider and lower. I think they have sequential transmissions.
Our new XGT class has retired GT3 cars in it. So in that fact not much difference, but chassis and horsepower are your mega differences.

I attended COTA, two weeks ago! Fantastic racing and access to the Paddock! We were outside of course, so people weren’t so paranoid about Covid-19. Yes we had masks. Got to drive my C7 ZO6 on the track for two “Parade Laps”. Might have just exceeded the 35 mph speed limit 😉

Love SVRA. I dont even mind you guys not having the grid sheets. Brought back such fun memories. The cold tires spin on the start is what ended my short career. I wasnt so luicky with the wall, but what the hell! Loved it loved it loved it!!!!!!!!!!

Trans am race with no trans ams makes me sad. I miss Pontiac. I know they were basically off brand Camaros but they still seemed cooler. My first car was a Firebird so I guess Im just biased.
My great-uncle sloyer would be very proud and happy the track looks great everybody had a great time everything that he believed in is shining today great job drivers and everyone involved every member put a Michelin under your car the best tire in the world.
