Definitely my most favorite channel on yt! Thanks for your work, honestly. I have noted all your advices and suggestions, so let’s hope for a next good season 🏒🥅
In a fantasy draft there isn't only you who is drafting, so at the end no matter how many rules you could list you will draft depending on how other managers draft 😉. For example, you can have for logical rule to don't rush goalie early in your draft but if almost all other managers in your league start to draft goalie from the 2nd or 3rd round, you will have to draft a goalie earlier than expected... unless you want to draft your first goalie around round 10 or later and end with a backup or a starter of a tanking team 😂. C are easy to grab late in the draft but it's a particular case. There are few reasons to explain this kind of opportunity. Firstly, most people play in league where C aren't valuable at all. No FO. Secondly, the best NHL players to draft early are C so it means you have managers with already 50% of the C they need after round 3. I personally believe the most important is to know about teams, players, and stats from the 2 previous seasons. It allows you to have enough knowledge to adapt your draft strategy depending on how other managers are drafting. For example, in a banger league I have a list of players who will be banger assets. I will draft them late but early if other managers start to draft them early. And so I need to know most of them and their values to know which one I will draft earlier than it should have been the case. And so on. Adaptation is the key. Many people come with a plan. I will draft this player then this or this player. Then this kind of player or this position. And suddenly while waiting their turn they're seeing their targets to be drafted. And they don't know how to react. 60 seconds or 90 seconds to draft, so here start the panic draft picks 🤣
In a points league, last year I went mackinnon 3rd overall, Petterson in the 2nd and shesterkin in the 3rd. So 2 natural Cs and a G and I outscored the 2nd highest scoring team by 500 points. Absolutely dominated. I get the point he’s making but I’ve always ended up going C early and I’ve been the the championship 3 years straight. If a C is the best available and you like him, take him.
You're misunderstanding thr advice. Nobody is saying to not take Mackinnon early because the top 3 players (Mcdavid, Mack, Matthews) are all C only. You HAVE to take those players early. Petey I also took last year in round 2 and it was amazing first few weeks but didn't help at all down the stretch. Overall disappointing.
I got 2 leagues this year. Fantrax banger and I'm drafting 10 out of 12 snake which doesnt give me those top guys but I do like the fact I can grab up 2 really quick. My yahoo I draft last each round since I finished first. It is a dynasty so I'm hoping I can grab some break out players. Last year in this one I finished 3rd so I drafted 3rd last and some soul left me Forsberg. This ones big, I'm 937 diamond in a competitive league not only that my kid is playing so there will be some Cobra Kai no mercy happening. But to be fair i gave him some of the tips nof to consider just ADP check what lines players are on, look for dual eligibility. I'm looking for back to back championships.
Agree. I would not grab more than 3 players from one team, on the other hand to getting just three or two can be solid strategy, how to make double points or triple points from one single goal. imho 🙂
Where to take Landeskog and Nichuskin in a 12 team bangers league with 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4 defense, 4 bench, 2G? 12 team, H2H, G, A, P, PPP, SOG, HIT, BLK, PIM
Give me your thoughts on the squad fellas. Very competitive 12 man bangers league. I had 9th overall in a snake draft for reference. Forwards: M. Tkachuk Connor Thompson DeBrincat Kyrou Kopitar Zuccarello Hagel Rust Jenner Guenther O’Reilly Zacha Fantilli Defense: Makar Seider Trouba Hronek McNabb Goalies: Ullmark Sorokin Kuemper (Got all of these goalies at a very good adp)
#11 - drafting/overhyping players from your favorite team
I love drafting with these type of ppl low key cause I'll end up with a better team lol 😅
I totally, 100% dont do that… (actively trying to trade Mcdavid for Mitchekov)
Given my sober drafting records in the past I might give it a try drunk this year
Right there with ya buddy
I work at a dispensary and I have a draft tonight 30 mins after my shift ends. Might go down the same route 😂
Thanks Julian! Number #3 gave me a great laugh!

Splendid work as usual ! Appreciate you and this channel and all its associates.

I drafted josh Norris super late. Our league gives points for faceoffs and if he's recovered, he'd a steal.

Agreed…depends on the Center. Rule1: Always draft the best player available.

How many teams were in your league?

Would Leon and mcdavid be a bad first 2 picks? They’re on separate lines eh?
@michaeljan16 there's there's absolutely no way you can get both of them lol drai is going like 3rd-5th overall in most leagues
@@lukewatson411 I’m in a 6 team league and half are casuals
@@michaeljan16 ok, but its not an ordinary situation. I've tried to describe strategy during a whole draft 🙂
Drafting drunk! Haha. So true. Learned from that mistake years back. Winning teams are drafted sober! Drink afterwards while admiring your team.

Last 2 rounds of the draft
End of draft, if they go earlier its probably not worth it
Gotta agree here. The risk is pretty high. As late as possible
Wish you did breakdown videos on all NHL teams.
He said he recently got married in a previous video so I guess he didn't have time to breakdown each NHL team like he used to do the previous seasons.
@@jayson4602 Good point. I had almost forgotten that.
1 shot beginning of every round everyone knows the rules
Would Leon and mcdavid be a bad first 2 picks? They’re on separate lines eh?
same powerplay tho and the oilers second line looks pretty damn good this year on paper
