Bougainville independence

The parliament went into a heated debate yesterday over Bougainville, bringing the house to silence as Member for North Bougainville, Francesca Semoso emotionally highlighted the plight of her people and once again, made the call for independence.
Various members of parliament both from the government and opposition contributed to the debate including the members of parliament from Bougainville.
Prime Minister James Marape pointed out two major areas that need to be looked at regarding Bougainville’s independence.
