From sleepy Rudolstadt that nearly missed the abdication of its last prince to the heart of London, where's a monarch reigns that has its roots right next door to Rudolstadt, in the equally sleepy town of Saalfeld.. ;) With greetings from Saalfeld!
Very great performance, I love it. Composer- the German officer Rudolf Herzer, he died in WW 1 on the Russian front. The English Title- the watchtower/ in German “Hoch Heidecksburg- Vivat Heidecksburg”. The barraks of Herzers regiment where at Rudolstadt in Germany. The famous castle “Heidecksburg” is the landmark of the city of Rudolstadt. Rudolstadt in the German Federal State Thuringia is worth a visit. Sorry- my English is really not the best.
Thanks for the info! I love this march, so happy and vibrant! I'm a retired USAF Msgt and spent 7 and 1/2 fantastic years serving at Tempelhof Zentral Flughaven in Berlin and at Wiesbaden. I rode my Peugeot 10 speed from Passau to Wien along the Donau. I'm 73 and cover at least 5 miles a day on foot jogging and walking and lift light weights and do calisthenics ( I've had no operations and take no medicine.). I also rode up and down the Rhine from Mainz to Koblenz observing all the beautiful castles and even saw Frankenstein's outside of Darmstadt! (also from Munchen to Neuschwanstein). I love Deutschland and most of the marches ! I pray the German's never loose their culture, events like Chriskindl Markts , Corpus Christi processions and Oktoberfest celebrations!
First time I have seen a British Military Band playing the Royal Military Police Corps March on video, I left the Corps in 1982, but still think about life then from time to time.
The regimental march of the Royal Military Police. After a 20 year career I still think its one of the best. A brilliant bit of German composing, adopted for a fine Corps
@@MrWhite-rp6wd I had an album many years ago of German music and knew it by the original title before knowing it had been adopted in the British Army. I was surprised when I joined the Royal Military Police that their march was one of my favourite pieces of music.
The main german ones they play are these (in english): "The Watchtower", "Children of the Regiment", "Prussia's Glory", and "King Fred", in german I believe they are called, Hoch Heidecksburg, Regimentskinder Marsch, Op.169, Prussens Gloria, and Kaiser Frederick

British Guards with German Music?
Damn good!
The regimental march of the Royal Military Police.
@@UKVeteran2024 Yes, it’s a German marching tune too.
@@krazytroutcatcher It is a German March. Called "Hoch Heidecksburg". It is NOT a British tune.
@@Invictus888 Yes, that is what I should have said, my comment was incorrect.
Thank you.
@@krazytroutcatcher You're most welcome. Be well.

Is an German March.... Hoch Heidecksburg. the march was probably adopted because the royal family is from Germany Sachsen Coburg Gotha

Down voted by people who got themselves in trouble with the Redcaps, obviously ;-)
You know it's a good when the Brits appreciate and play a German march.
GERMAN MILITARY MARCH!
Congratulations the world loves german tradition

@@Bar-Hillel Nope...it's Hoch Heidecksburg, a German March. The Royal Military Police adopted it.
very fine performance
Die beste Version die ich bisher gehört habe!
na ja aber es fehlt ein Teil

A wonder march, my favourite
Deutsche Märsche werden von Briten gespielt? Hab ich da was verpasst?

Brits loves German marches, cool
Ich weiß sogar, dass die Heidecksburg in meiner Heimatstadt steht!!! ;-)
Die armen müssen dabei fast rennen😂😂😂! Preußische Märsche sind zu schnell für die eher langsame britische Armee
It's quite the opposite
Thuringia totally rules
sehr gut. Greetings from Germany

beautifull
well done coldstream guards, with plenty of "zack"
