  • Improvisation over the hymn 'Seek Where You May to Find a Way'. CW: 395 (Christian Worship 1993).
    Text: George Weissel, 1590-1635. Translation: Arthur P. Voss, 1899-1955 (altered).
    Lyrics:
    Seek where you may To find a way
    That leads to you salvation.
    My heart is stilled; On Christ I build-
    He is the one foundation.
    His Word is sure; His works endure.
    He will o'erthrow My ev'ry foe.
    Through Him I more than conquer.
    Seek whom you may To be your stay;
    None can redeem his brother.
    All helpers failed; This man prevailed,
    The God-Man and none other.
    The Servant-Lord Our life restored
    We're justified, For He has died,
    The guiltless for the guilty.
    Seek Him alone, Who did atone,
    Who did your souls deliver;
    Oh, seek Him first, Al you who thirst
    For grace that fails you never.
    In ev'ry need Seek Him indeed;
    To ev'ry heart He will impart
    His blessings without measure.
    My heart's delight, My crown most bright,
    Jesus, you are forever.
    Not wealth or pride Or aught beside
    Our bond of love shall sever.
    You are my Lord; Your precious Word
    Shall be my guide Whate'er betide.
    Oh, teach me, Lord, to trust You!

      Thank you. I've been playing maybe 13 years? It was a really slow start and I just played around for probably a few years when I was around 9 to 12.

      Wow, you're perceptive! It's a Lutheran hymnal. The symbol is called a Chi-Rho. In Greek that is the first four letters of the name of Christ.

      @@ellawilken Well, I was just admiring your beautiful long hair and then I noticed the symbol :-)
      Yes, and I also wanted to know what religion you belong to :-)
      So you're a Lutheran? :-)

      @@MrRi4You I grew up WELS Lutheran and still go to Church with my family (though we're in the process of finding a better congregation). But I also was homeschooled, and have therefore been exposed to a lot of Baptist theology. I wouldn't really say I'm Lutheran in doctrine anymore, but I don't seem to agree with any other denomination, either. Though there's this one Church in Colorado called Ellerslie that I attended for awhile and didn't notice any doctrinal issues with... Anyway, thanks for asking; I'm sure that was way more information than you were looking for :)

      @@ellawilken No no, that's fine. I'm grateful for the information. And I am also glad to know, that You was homeschooled. At least you haven't been brainwashed by the state :-)
      I personally don't believe in religions. My God did not come to found any religion, but where two or three come together in the name of Jesus, Jesus is in their midst.
      My maternal grandparents were Lutheran and my paternal grandparents were Baptist. My parents are Pentecostals. It's a very bad religion, although all religions are bad. But they've separated themselves from the big churches and meet in small groups. But that's not for me. It's all pretty pathetic. No power of God to be seen. I only felt the greatest presence of God when I studied the Bible myself. The Song of Songs - Proverbs - Ecclesiastes - Psalms. Das sind wahrlich wunderbare Bücher :-)

      @@MrRi4You An interesting take on Christianity. But Jesus did say 'wherever two or three come together in My Name...' Absolutely true!
