Good tips. I do repeated powerslides and then order a new set of wheels! If it's wide enough and not too steep I can do the slalom turns too. I hate hills, especially unfamiliar ones, or where you can't see if there's a run-off. I wish I could get that feeling of excitement and freedom that others get instead of the feeling of pure panic 😱😅
Great tips! I’m a real fan of the slalom, but the ski stop seems like a good option on a narrower road. Drag stop is my bailout option if things get it of hand. Cheers!
Thanks for the tips. For me personally it's not the downhill itself that is scary, It's surroundings. In Moscow, where I live and skate, I hardly ever go full send on the hills because of heavy traffic, the roads being unpredictable and narrow and lack of grass on aggessive hills. One more way of stopping I use is grabbing a signpost, a lamp post or something stable that's not going anywhere under your weight. That's sketchy but it works :)
Good tips and i will definetely use them on downhills but unfortunately it didn't resolve my main problem, and it is going down from the bridge (you know, for crossing the road). For now i use stairs though there is a path for bycicles to go down. I tried and it was too difficult even when i constantly held something (i think its about 10 degree angle). There is no much space to do second tip while first one is definetely not enough
⟟ live on rocks, in California. No grass, so ⟟ prefer to fall onto the pavement..granted I'm only three days into skating. If your wondering why I'm watching this video, ⟟ live on ⏃ hill aswell.
Looks like your first technique would be easier once you learned how to do it properly. Worst case scenario you skate into the weeds which will be less punishable on your body than losing control on the pavement at 40mph.

Do these techniques work on very steep hills?
With Urban skates / small wheels, just do a combination of T-stop and slalom uphill, with speed skates: avoid them!
@Drew Nobody wants to wreck their expensive race wheels. Just don't go on steep hills with speed skates.

"....unprofessional RUclipsr", a big laugh! Keep up your good work!
Watching this because I'm thinking of buying skates and my house is on a hill.
Roller skating is more difficult than ice skating.
Jesus is lord godbless you and have a blessed day

Don't mean to be the grammar police but it's knees bent not bended.
Thanks! Should have spent more time in class, less on wheels 😅
@@thorupviktor I still love you man
“He proposed to her on bended knee”.
