IMO, burning your opponents deck is very powerful in one specific scenario: your opponent has had enough mana to play out their combo, but they haven’t. That means they don’t have their combo, and THEN you want to nuke their deck.

Correct, but remember they played it on turn 4. So unless their picks were something like AoE or draw 6 alongside it, it probably wasn’t the best pick.

4:55 ... Interesting how in most scenarios I get 6 cards 🔥 from my deck, I still end up being competitive if not Winning. Nary a moment where I'm uber tilted or lose in a titled fashion 👌🏾

Sure because most decks do not base there deck on 1 card win con. However if you burn Sif, Thaddius or Odyn it's usually a game over because you have infinite value with Sargeras.

Burming cards only matters if you get through your entire deck.
Been trying to tell frieds this for years.

I think that, in Hearthstone specifically, a lot of games come down to "the entirety of your deck vs the entirety of their deck" moreso than other TCGs, so burning cards is a lot stronger than most games. I'm not sure it was the right call to burn the cards out of the 3 options but I could see the opponent's reasoning.

It's a worse version of an old archetype in bomb warrior that wasn't even that good back when the game was slower and less powerful in general

plagues are just another take on a fatigue deck, since you have to wait for your opponent to draw through their whole deck in order to win, and the devs are very clear they don't want fatigue decks to be viable because 90 minute fatigue control mirror matches kill any stream viewership.
