  • If conventional stretching and strengthening exercises haven't been working for your scoliosis back pain, that's because you really haven't addressed the root problem. The way to do that is you retrain your nervous system to change your habitual movement patterns so you are not stuck in the same patterns.

      How often and how many reps should we do

    • @TaroIwamoto
      @TaroIwamoto  21 день назад +2

      @@thunderjoy7250 just a few slow repetitions would be fine, but doing several times/day with your attention so you can start to change your habitual patterns would be important.

    I have scoliosis. This movement pattern to retrain the nervous system actually created a lot of pain on the right side of my back.

      which direction is your habitual direction? which direction created pain on the right side of your back? I would really focus on using your hips to control your movement instead of your back, and I would move more slowly and through a smaller range so you can really focus on how to move from your hips.

    The scoliosis videos have been serious game changers for me. Plus butyeko breathing, but it’s likely that butyeko would have been harder to grasp had I not learned enough ease to breathe softer than I was breathing if I hadn’t done Feldenkrais! Eternally saying thank u taro

    As soon as I began, I noticed a pattern and then watched my body "look" for other options. This happened on both sides. When I stood to walk again, I felt quite grounded and even. I like this idea of expanding our options. Thank you!
