Bogs to Built Heritage
This video from the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge Road Project documents the various aspects involved in Archaeological Testing and Surveys along the route. This includes core extraction for paleo-environmental analysis, metal detection surveys, trenching in bogs and wetlands, tree stump removal and subsequent trenching in forested areas as well as wade and dive river surveys. It also includes the survey and recording of all built heritage structures along the proposed road corridor.
