I wouldn’t agree that it fits Sol better, Sol has more “he knows his manipulation” thing, the expression wouldn’t fit. There isn’t as much trickery in the smile of the design, it looks more flat, like hidden intentions but fueled by a small, vengeful force.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the almost Cheshire Cat smile that Sol has in this, it makes him so unnerving. The editing and shading are just stunning. You designs are so SHAPE and I love them
Not sure if this was intended, but I love how much sol resembles 1 the sun (related to the eclipse) with the fluff on sides of his face shaped like the edges of a sun that a kid would stereotypically draw, 2 the moon with the dark blue and white (also related to the eclipse) and 3 some kind of creature, different or more important than other cats with the shape above his eyes almost creating a third eye and his smile, which is not very cat like

this is kinda specific but i love how the slight wobbly movement between sols head and body dont quite match after he faces the camera at ‘a haunting face’ it really sells that kind of trippy/dreamlike feel
