I like the blush color idea for the wood antiques. The picnic basket and gold frame were great finds. I suggest painting the flat/wall baskets blush inside with gold edging. You made have to dry clean the pillows; if the covers aren't removable.
Just to let you know they make Lysol disinfecting laundry detergent! You could use that in the washing machine with those pink pillows to make sure they’re clean & free of any dirt/germs. 😊
Now that you have done a lot at your home in LA it is great that you use your talents to redecorate your parents home. The picnic basket will make a stunning storage box. For a hobby seeing as that room was your moms office.
Hey Kristen, put those pillows in the washer, cold water gentle cycle, dry outside, flat, in the sun! Turn over and do other side after a couple hour! 👍
I find it interesting that the very embellished or boho stuff I grew up on is making a comeback. Wish the tuscan and heavily tiled home decor makes its return because I just bought a house full of it and NOT ripping it out!
Some folks are right about the cold cycle on gentle wash, but make sure to get some of the Lysol disinfecting laundry additive. It's fantastic. The Flu left my house in 3 days with the help of that stuff. Air dry them in the sun for a little while, but if you ever need to fluff them, stick then in the dryer on low heat with dryer balls (Grove has those if you don't!), or a couple tennis balls! It will beat the fluff nice and help keep the original shape!
Since finding your channel I have found some awesome baskets and a pretty print at the thrift store and found some great deals on home decor on our local market place sites. New lamps, more baskets a beautiful rug, upscale dish wear and chargers to dress up my dining room table. I have re-freshened my entry way, dinning and living room all for around $250🙌
Yess those 70s/80s thin brass frames are so overlooked but I've been buying them for a few years now, they look so high end with a good print in them. Lately I've been finding pink ones too! 🤩
For pillows, just leave them out in the sun for a day each side. It’ll kill a lot of bacteria, germs, etc. It takes care of odours. I’ve had it work for cat pee in a suitcase before (those darn cats!). Nothing else got the smell out except leaving it outside in the sun. The picnic basket, I used for a sewing basket before. Same one! Love your style! I’m just about to reno a fifth wheel trailer and I’m watching your channel for inspiration :)
If you're just planning on throwing out the painting in the frame anyways, maybe you could try to use it for a DIY of some kind? Like make some DIY notebooks with it? Or maybe line the inside of a little trinket box or some drawers (depending on the texture of it)? It's a pretty pattern, just not necessarily as a large piece of wall art.
Any pillow you can't wash, but in dryer for the 35-45 mins. Spray with Lysol or fabreeze befor hand & let dry. Then the dryer or extreme out door heat both sides for I- 2 hrs. each side
If you put them in the dryer on high heat it will kill any germs. Keep them in there for 40 min. Someone probably decided they didn’t want the basket and just sat it down. It’s such a great find.
Do more of these shop with me videos they're the best videos. And we love watching them and seeing you pick everything out and putting everything together so nicely! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
One way to clean your pillows is to use the Dryel cleaning kit. If they really aren't dirty but you just want to freshen them up, you can just put them in the dryer with a damp lint-free towel and a dryer sheet on medium heat for about 30 minutes. The moisture will create a little bit of steam which will plump the fibers and loosen up any creases. The dryer sheet will prevent static and add some fresh smell. The tumbling process will loosen dust. They will come out like new. This also works great for stuffed animals. It is very important that you use a cloth that does not give off lint because it can stick to your pillows creating "pilling". A flour sack towel or a clean white pillow case works well. Also, don't use anything that is a dark color as it could fade into your pillows.
I have that same basket!!! I use it for my sewing supplies. Also resale shops have to sanitize the pillows before they resell them it’s a federal law. I’m obsessed with that brass frame my house is done in a 60’s -70’s revival with a ton of brass
I found that SAME exact picnic basket at a local thrift store in the D/FW metroplex! I was lucky to find it with all of the original pieces. It came with the blanket, four plates, cups, silverware, and cloth napkins. Best $4.99 I spent, and I used it for a picnic date in the park with my boyfriend!
The basket with the confusing handles that you bought was at one time sent with a subscription to Gevalia Coffee along with a nice container about 30 to 35 years ago.
Love: small gold gilded mirror, white ball lamp, pink pillows (my daughter would love those) I would just stick those pillows im the washing machine actually
I thought I was the only one who loves to go to the thrift store searching for frames sometimes you get really beautiful ones I just got one a great last week💜
Kirsten wash the pillows on a wool wash no heat. If you can take the pillow covers off that would be great as the inner would have movement in the washer. I have a deep velvet green pillow decorative pillow cases on my main rooms bed that has the blush pink in and the inner is duck feathers and that is how I washed my pillows. If you can another tip is don’t dry them in the tumble dryer let them dry outside.
you found so much nice things!!! love the picnic basket! your parents must be so proud and you are making their home so nice! waiting for the make over video!
When can we see how you used your thrift finds! I can just imagine how fantastic they will look! Totally love your decorating style! You are so talented, you have such a good eye!
This is awesome! I’m currently redoing a bedroom in my house on a budget and I planned to thrift a lot and incorporate family antiques in the space as well! This video was super helpful and I can’t wait to see the final result!
I found that same style picnic basket (larger) at Goodwill..I've collected a few vintage type picnic baskets to hide kitchen toy overflow above the kitchen cabinets.
Hey Kristen! I haven’t seen any other videos from you! I’m very sad! You’re very talented and gifted with picking out things. I want to see what you’ve done with the things you’ve picked out! I’m a full time subscriber! And haven’t seen anything else from you. Please respond.
Omg I’m so excited watching your video! Girl I thought I was the only person that get excited over small things! I love the energy! Also, great steals!!!
That dresser is so cool and I just love centering makeovers around centerpiece items. May or may not be what you're doing but that piece is just gorgeous.
Okay. First off. I love LOVE savers. I just moved into my first apartment. Theres a recommendation for kitchen organizations. So im gonna binge watch now
Just wash in gentle cycle, if they are fibre fill ( are light in weight , down is heavier) the spin cycle does a good job of getting most of the water out, just hang them to dry.
I've never thrift shopped, but your video has sold me. I am going thrifting next week for sure! I love everything you bought, but the pillows are beautiful!
ARE YOU GUYS THRIFTERS LIKE ME?! What was your favourite thing I found in todays shop with me!?

I like the blush color idea for the wood antiques. The picnic basket and gold frame were great finds. I suggest painting the flat/wall baskets blush inside with gold edging. You made have to dry clean the pillows; if the covers aren't removable.
Omg I LOVE the print that was in that frame 😭
My 7 year old daughter would love that art print in her bedroom!
Me too! That would go perfectly in my new craft room!
Just to let you know they make Lysol disinfecting laundry detergent! You could use that in the washing machine with those pink pillows to make sure they’re clean & free of any dirt/germs. 😊
Melanie Molzahn girl yeah, I believe in that stuff when I buy thrift store clothes or during flu season!
Great to see! Thrifting is SO much kinder to the environment and our planet. It turned out great!
The art in the frame is nice. Look at the blush pink flowers , they match the velvet pillows
I love the picnic basket and the clock! Even the wall baskets are cool!
The picnic basket and the pillows are great ..can't wait for your room transformation. I love your creativity
I kinda like that print...especially to brighten up all of the wood tones.
I find it interesting that the very embellished or boho stuff I grew up on is making a comeback. Wish the tuscan and heavily tiled home decor makes its return because I just bought a house full of it and NOT ripping it out!
Oh I love the print inside the frame you picked up.

Pillows. Put in a plastic bag and put in your car trunk for a week. The heat will kill everything and you don’t risk wrecking the material or fluff.

The 1st Mirror is BEAUTIFUL
I love the watch and the adorable pillows! Sooo cute. Thank you for such entertaining video.
Yess those 70s/80s thin brass frames are so overlooked but I've been buying them for a few years now, they look so high end with a good print in them. Lately I've been finding pink ones too! 🤩

OMG, I looooove the wooden circle decor in the beginning that moved around!!!
Totally would have bought the picnic basket. Love the candle holder.
Same
1 love the basket with handles. Awesome!
Love your grandmothers dresser. ❤
I loved the velvet pillows and the candle holder well all of the stuff! Picnic basket was nice♥️
I have a larger version of that picnic basket. We got it for our wedding 32 years ago! I was going to get rid of it but maybe I’ll keep it!

I WANT THAT PICNIC BASKET. I would use it to store sewing supplies
Me too!! It v would be perfect fit my daughters baby doll clothes!!
The pillar candle hoder is amazing. You can clean out any scratches with Restor-a-Finish.
Wash pillows in cold water on delicate. If they are pillow covers remove them. Let them air dry then put in dryer on air to fluff up.
This picknick basket is so cute😍
That picnic basket would also be cute with a couple potted plants in it, or flowers...with the lid open, of course.
👍to organization. Love it. Eye appeal is important.

Crystal Rose i was thinking about something like that as well!! Good idea!!
I have a hand held steamer that would kill any germs on the pillows the steam is really hot so I would invest in a steamer.
I love thrifting. I found that EXACT picnic basket at Goodwill. I love it.

Haha... The painting matches the room perfectly 😁 Instead of making it over you can just hang up the picture and you're finished 😂
You can put some throw blankets inside the picnic basket
I’d leave the print in that frame because the big pink flowers would go with your other pink decor.
So wish I could find those basket bundles & the picnic basket is perfect!
The print in the frame might be awesome with your pillows
The basket with the confusing handles that you bought was at one time sent with a subscription to Gevalia Coffee along with a nice container about 30 to 35 years ago.
Cancel holders are great for holding plants
Love: small gold gilded mirror, white ball lamp, pink pillows (my daughter would love those)
