The Fury of the second Wilder match is the closest thing to a perfect heavyweight. For what concerns his alleged retirement..If for some miracles AJ wins against Usyk, I do not see Fury staying retired for that long. I think Tyson Fury would have a great chance beat anyone, any time, any era. Vladimir Klitchko, Lennox, maybe a prime Riddick Bowe and Holyfield could give him fits. I think the Heavyweight division should be divided by weight. It's just too wide of a gap. Imagine a prime Mike Tyson vs Tyson Fury. 5 ft 11 220 vs a 6 ft 9 270 guy. Fury footwork, jab, boxing IQ, defense would give Tyson fits. If Mike gets close Fury holds and gets the clinch and puts his weight on him. Fury vs Ali is a size mismatch. Ali never fought anyone like Fury. Tyson obviously wouldn't move like Ali but eventually Ali has to come and get close. The 50 lbs weight difference would matter in the 2nd half of the fight prolly. I think Evander would really test Fury cause he was so relentless and just kept coming. I'd say Lennox or Vladimir vs Fury would be the real test.

All of those things I mentioned along with his will to NOT want to lose or give up is what makes him special. We also know he has a great chin as well as awesome stamina. Any distance fight he has had, he always looked like the fresher fighter. I don't think we will see someone of his size with the same attributes again.

Who would win who in their prime is very interesting but at the end of the day fantasizing. We can only compare their accomplishments when starting talking about who is better than who. Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Joe Frazier and Lennox Lewis all of them were Undisputed Champions and won an Olympic Gold Medal. Thats a fact which cant be disputed. Tyson Fury on the other hand, has nothing accomplished of that. He is a great athlete, but unfortunately for him , not to be mentioned with those kind of guys when talks start about who is the greatest heavyweight of all time, he just isn‘t. Guys like us will talk the same in 50 years and will not talk about wilder was the man and fury beat him and futy beat klitschko, they will look at the naked facts, what did he accomplished compared to the mentioned guys, like i said in my opinion no one will choose him over those kind of heavyweights. I have a hard time believing Fury will stay retired. He might stay away for a couple years, then come back for a mega payday. Probably just a waste-of-time spectacle against some MMA guy.
Personal opinion: He's over-rated. He has elite ring IQ and better-than-average skills for a heavyweight in this era, but there's no denying that the main thing about Fury is size. 6'9" and nearly 300 pounds is just insane. There should be super-heavyweight and megaweight or titanweight divisions. Fantasy-wise, you can't even put him in the ring with Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Ali, Frazier, or Tyson. It would be like putting Inoue in the ring with Bivol. Inoue's a better fighter than Bivol, but you don't put a bantamweight in the ring with a light-heavyweight.
You could put Lennox Lewis in the ring with Lennox LewisFury, 'cause there's not an outrageous size difference. I can imagine Liston in the ring with Fury, because even though there's a big height and weight difference, Liston actually had an 83" reach, same as Fury, plus he was strong as an ox.
Fury's accomplishments don't put him in the top 20 all-time heavyweights. Plus, with the exception of Usyk's recent entry into the division, it's been a really weak era for heavyweights since the Klitchkos' prime.

Nobody has unified since Lewis, we are going to see that soon, and it'll almost certainly be Usyk or AJ as the unified now. If it's Usyk, which will mean he's beaten AJ twice and also another heavyweight to collect the WBC and Ring, then he's the best of this generation. Unified Cruiserweight and Heavyweight goes beyond anything Fury has done, as much as I like Fury. Nobody knows how good Wilder even is because he's only fought bums aside from Fury, Whyte was knocked out by a 40+ Povetkin and got battered by AJ in the past, and has never had a belt, hardly an unprecedented win let's be honest. And Fury has a draw on his record anyway so it's not perfect, and I'm comfortable with that draw because while he won the fight, he got lucky early in his career against John McDermott whereby most people felt Fury lost, even if he clearly won the rematch. So luck goes around. Fury also hasn't had that many fights compared to a lot of Heavyweights. It's an odd time to walk away and I think that's why he's doing it, to be controversial. I think he'll regret it when old though, especially when it could be AJ with all the belts in the history books and Fury is just a guy who beat a relatively unknown American fighter (pre Fury fights at least) a couple of times and outboxed Klitschko in what is widely considered one of the most boring big fights of all time.

  • @danmoord375

I guess everyone is bias for the greatest boxers of their era, but I see Tyson Fury as a kind of Gerry Cooney. And if you're asking, "Who's Gerry Cooney?", that's kind of how I feel about Tyson Fury. Usyk, on the other hand, is one of a kind. I've never seen anybody like Usyk, just like I never saw any body like Ali when he came along. Even after Ali lost, he was still the greatest. Usyk is very close to having that same kind of greatness. The winner of Fury vs. Usyk could claim greatness, but I don't think Fury can claim it without that fight. He might not even have to win, but he at least needs the fight to claim greatness.

I think Fury has gone to early to judge. His body of work is not good enough. I’m surprised that a person as knowledgable as Paulie can judge a fighter so highly without enough body of work to do so. We have seen fighters look unbeatable then all of a sudden come unstuck. Especially when you look at Fury fighters with Wilder. Apart from the last fight which in itself was controversial the other two were very controversial. So I don’t believe Fury is as talented as Paulie thinks. If a guy as limited as Wilder can do that to him then imagine someone with skills. If you look at his record he hasn’t really fought anyone of note to judge him properly. Klitchko was over the hill. He certainly showed some skill but without a real test it’s difficult to judge. I disagree that size is the determining factor. Tyson beat guys that were much bigger than him. Joe Louis did the same. For the first time I disagree with Paulie. You can’t judge a guy on paper. Fury hasn’t got enough body of work to judge him.

I think he would have had issues with Holyfield or Tyson getting inside on him and their speed.
It not his fault that AJ lost a couple and made the fight less appealing. He would beat both comfortably imo. Walk usyk down. And box the ears off aj, jab his nut in

Paulie you underestimate Ali. Listen bro, I’m not one of these guys who says “Ali was the greatest because of what he did outside the ring. “
No he is the greatest because of what he did IN the ring.
Fury never faced a better boxer than himself and Ali would frustrate him.

I love fury and was a fan before most people knew he was state side. He's got tools where he could be the best ever but he doesnt have the resume.
Also I think usyk would give fury alot of problems and probably beats him right now. I think fury knows AJ is going to lose again and really doesn't want to fight usyk. He knows everyone will want him to fight the winner of that fight for undisputed and he won't want to take the chance to fight usyk and possibly lose his undefeated record. Thats what seperates Ali from him where Ali fought everyone and any style.

I love pauli insight 99 percent of the time but this time was a shit take. Tyson fury is nowhere near the top for best heavyweight of all time. Him against a prime Mike tyson is a mismatch. Fury would struggle to hit tyson and would get knocked out. He got put down by Steve cunningham. A cruiserweight who never struggled to hit him. Struggled badly against otto wallin who isn't even a top 100 heavyweight of all time. Fury is average at very best

  • @michaeloyeniyi8017
    @michaeloyeniyi8017 2 года назад

I really don't get the hype behind Fury, solid heavyweight for sure but who has he beat? An old Klitschko that refused to throw punches and Wilder with zero boxing skills. So what makes him this ATG people keep talking about? How many top level heavyweights today did he fight/beat? Whyte is trash, don't even bring that up. Lennox Lewis, Vitali, Foreman and maybe even Holyfield all beat him up. Maybe Bowe too. Unless he beats the top heavyweights in this era, he's not the best. AJ has a better resume and will be the best of this era if he beats Usyk.

All the talent means nothing because Fury's body of work too small, time out of the ring between fights too substantial and his troubles outside of the ring prevent him from being amongst the all-time greats. This is coming from a huge fan of Tyson Fury when he was fighting but the truth is that his career is a great disappointment.

disappointing with undisputed left on the table - leave a lot to be desired - he had a very respectable career.. I do think him not being able to get into the USA played a role... I also think the hunger after fighting wilder 3 times isn't as great. He's weird like that. As a Fury fan, the word frustrating comes to mind because i think he smokes both aj and usyk.
