A note of caution: You should NOT be working on the engine [5:36 seconds] with headgear that has anything dangling down. The same goes for ponytails or pigtails. If they get caught in anything rotating, that would be very, very bad and you could get seriously hurt.

Peace of mind with the engine, a combination of your tenacity and stubborn belief, your fathers magic touch and as you mentioned behind every great man there is undoubtedly a greater woman (wife, mother, i salute you all).
Love , love that Yoshi. Best thing that ever happened to you and your channel. You can tell a lot about people who care deeply for a creature who has nothing to offer but love. Bravo kids. You are my favorite channel.
Hey guys, thanks for the vid! Just a thought… the tassels from your hat were dangling down into the engine, it’s a good idea to not let things around your neck or head dangle into the engine. I had a friend with long hair get his hair caught in the fly wheel… it was bad! Please be cautious about that kind of thing. Peace
Congratulations on your engine running like a champ. That will give you great Peace of Mind in the future. I've been watching your Channel pretty much since you started always enjoy your videos. Love your attitude you guys are a real inspiration. Also really very happy you decided to keep that dog very good crew member as it turned out.😊👍🍻
Honestly guys to stop Yoshi barking there is a kinder way He is barking to alert you guys of a possible danger , this behaviour is natural and instinctive , I would be happy to explain in detail if you wish, in the short term when he shows u- wanted behaviour isolate him (not on his bed) when things quite down let him out but ignore him initially until he is distracted then call him and give affection. I would be happy to explain everything to you and set you a working plan to help you all.regards. Andy x
C'mon folks and give these guys a thumbs up! 👍🏽 After all their efforts making and sharing videos, from remote places, they are worth a 👍🏽 don't ya think?
Dear Nadiyana and Mark, Well for an abandoned catamaran as how it was found in the marina where you bought Minky we think the boat is doing well. The engine runs fine and of course some details need to be maintained intensively with such an old boat. The cracks close to the rudder is a matter of concern so we think the boat needs to go on a dock area to repair this. We wish you lots of of success with new adventures with with Minky and wish you as well as your entire family family all the happiness the world can offer and send you ❤️ from the Netherlands. Best regards, Willeke and Dick de Graaff
Dear Wildlings Sailing family. Okay, the barking might not be great, but I nevertheless absolutely love Yoshi! 💚 Congrats! Great to see respectively hear, that the engine runs perfectly well at last. What a relief! Kudos again to your great Dad/Dad in law (of course not to forget your energetic Mom/Mom in law). 👍👌👏 For your safety and for calming of your nerves, obviously a second Diesel tank is needed instead of having to fiddle around with fuel cans. In stormy weather filling the tank out of jerry cans can become a big challenge or even impossible. Furthermore: even water could get into the fuel system via the big funnel! The trampoline looks sturdy again and is fixed very well. Well done, Especially because "Misses Wildling" had to do it all by hand. Best regards, luck, health and wisdom.
Fairly Good sail. It's a good idea to tighten things up a little more, and slow down a bit when using your engine. 3-4 kits will save your fuel. As your engine gets broken in your fuel milage should get better. Just another tip. Plan your trips to arrive in the early mornings. And bring plenty fuel. Have a good sail. ✌️
I use a netmaker's shuttle wound with the same UV resistant thread as in the stitching tool. It makes a much better seam, and I tie a reef knot every third or fourth stitch so that if the thread wears through or snaps, the seam will not come apart. A single thread seam will pull undone. As soon as one uses the double thread locking stitching, the safer your seams will be. You push the tool through the material, then slip the shuttle into the loop and pull the stitching tool out ready for the next stitch. Every fourth stitch, tie a reef knot and continue stitching as before.
Well done for making it across. I am no sailor but it seems a petrol gauge/dip stick could be a useful addition. Isn’t there some kind of calculation that says « if we have to motor all the way we will need this amount of fuel »👏👏
Might need to invest in some more jerry cans for more fuel carrying capacity? Shame about the wind. Great to have good friends who can help you fix things around the boat! Legend!
@@WildlingSailing I always try to have at least 5 20 litre jerry cans filled with diesel on hand. Diesel is getting out of hand cost wise of course unfortunately, but when you need it, you need it.

Fabulous episode guys, so great to see you get out on the hook and in a lovely place. Pete and Kat were a great help getting some of the electrics working. You will be glad of the radar if you are in any fog. All the best. Andy UK
So glad it was just that you didn't have enough diesel and not an engine problem. Take care of your Dad's engine :) Wishing you some good weather and happy sailing
Another corker. Your videography skills are really starting to shine. I've enjoyed your channel since the start of the French canals and have said before that I thought buying Minke was an interesting move with great potential. And so it has turned out to be, what a great job you've done bringing her back to life. The rebuilding the engine videos were nothing short of heartwarming, a real family story. The camerawork, pieces to camera, drone footage (with repaired, second hand, re-used drones - gold star award) and Nadia's smile through everything are all a joy to watch. Bloody good work.
Glad you made it, my GF recognized Soler as she sailed there from BCN herself. For your passage planning you need to work out how many ltrs/hour at say 5kts, so you know that you have enough fuel in future. Enjoy the Balearics 👍🏼
