Bass player for Marty Robbins laid a bass track into a bad channel on the mixer and got the first recorded fuzz tone. They decided to keep it in the song and then everyone wanted that sound. The song was Don’t Worry. Grady Martin was the session player on a 6 string bass. Released 2/61
Thanks for clarifying. I can’t imagine Brian Wilson (or Bruce Johnston for that matter) going “yeah, give me that farty sound in a box, it’s perfect for Pet Sounds”.
Watched two review videos on these pedals back to back. The other one was from a music store in Germany that I subscribe to as well. Each was a different style of review with players who knew what they were doing and how to show what the pedals can do in their own playing styles. Together, the two videos gave the full spectrum of what these pedals are capable of. I am very impressed with these pedals in every way and may order one, or two from each store. I live in Canada but have shopped at both Anderton's and Thomann's just because I like their RUclips channels and the great videos. And as a bonus the hosts of each channel are amazing players, knowledgeable of what they are talking about and entertaining.
Love Andertons and their vids but it's in stock at L&M as well. Just saying - if you want it quicker and no duties. I may be on my own with this but I love to support L&M as much as I can because I appreciate having a sizable Canadian chain for the convenience. I've also gotten better deals there than any indy shop. Wouldn't want them to go anywhere
@@bpastorb I to like to shop locally and have spent many $$$ at the L&M five minutes form my place over the years, but I will not shop their anymore. Or the four other L&M stores in my city either. The last time I was in there over a year ago now to drop $2300 on a Strat I was putting cash away for, the sales person was rude, ignorant and smug when I asked for the guitar from the top shelf with the price tag hidden. Guess he thought I was to young for such an expensive guitar. I knew how much it cost because I had looked at it before and played it, but wanted to pay cash and not credit for it so each time I went in before that day I would check to see if it was still there. I asked if I could speak to one of the people I normally talked to and he gave me attitude and asked why. I said forget it and just left and have not been back since. Drove 25 minutes to another guitar store and asked them if they had it in stock. They did not have one in stock, but took the time to find me the one I wanted through their supplier. They called me the next day to see if I was still interested and put the order in for me. Dropped $2375 cash on the counter an hour later when I got off work. Been shopping there since. Price is important and I like a good deal, but customer service is just important. Andertons all the way on the other side of the ocean gave me great customer service. Put an order for something they did not have in stock but were waiting for stock to come in. They day after putting the order in they let me know that it could be a couple month for them to get in stock and asked if I would like to cancel the order or exchange it for something else. Nope, all good. I was ordering something just to support their shop, not because I really needed what I ordered. Just wanted it .... and a shirt. They emailed me regularly after letting me know the status of the order and that they were still waiting for stock. It took three months to get it from the day I ordered it and it did not bother me a bit. All about the customer service.
@@kyle9667 Don't mean to be a jerk man but that is one experience with one employee at one store.. Its a little unfair to blame such a large company for a single employee's behavior. Such a large company also has protocol. or rules its employees must follow. I am betting they would be breaking one by refusing you to touch a guitar (in this day and age). I also must say its extremely unrealistic (and false) to believe that this would only happen at a big chain like L&M. I have an extremely similar story from when I bought my first guitar. Saved up all my money, went to the store as excited as could be and it was like I had to convince them just to let me see or touch the guitar. This was at Steve's music, also pre internet so I couldn't just google maps the next closest guitar store. I ended up having to come with my stepdad just in order for them to take me seriously. That was also the 'way to run shops' about 2 decades ago. Also I was 100% serious on never finding better deals anywhere else. They have the 'gear hunter' thing in which I was able to buy by last Gibson for cheaper than some fancy Epiphones (Joe bonomasa). Even in recenet memory I have gone into L&M and run into a jerk that is working. OR also run into some extremely nice people working. That is just life..
Pete's right, yall have Bugles crisps. What's weird is that they're sold by Walkers/Frito Lay in the UK, but General Mills in the US Also, more on topic, these sound AMAZING
Lone Ranger would be my favorite. But, I always called him the Long Ranger because he wasn’t alone and he traveled a long way. These pedals sounds sweet.
In July 2021 Gibson sent a cease and desist letter to MojoHandEffects because they had released a pedal inspired by the old Maestro Phase Shifter, it wasn’t a circuit clone and the branding wasn’t even similar. The MojoHandEffects pedal was called the Mister-O and then after the legal action the name was changed to Mr. O. Now that Gibson has revived the Maestro brand the lawsuit makes more sense, although it’s a shame they didn’t release a new version of the Phase Shifter! It was one of the best pedals Maestro ever made. “Play Authentic” lives on.
They all had some good tones in them and Pete brings out the best of anything he plays, but it felt like there might be a little magic in that simple delay.
Really like the invader, and the built-in gte is a smart move. I have a Strymon Riverside that has it too, an even with "just" overdrive, it has great benefits when you REALLY crank it.
I don't often up-vote Andertons videos, though I do enjoy most of them, but this video gets an up-vote for Pete's dirty playing in the last six or seven minutes. That was *right* up my street. Nice one.
I loved these pedals, Satisfaction is always the first riff I think of when it comes to Maestro but I think the first bass riff was from a song called Don’t Worry
I just got two of these free when I bought a new Ginny Les Paul. Now it makes sense. Had no idea about why they were giving away a couple with the purchase. They sent the fuzz and the discoverer delay. I would rather had received the overdrive but I can’t complain about getting anything free. Of course with what I paid for the guitar, easy to see why they are giving them away.
I have an old Maestro Fuzz from 1969 at home. Sounds good but the problem with it is that you can't play more than one note at a time, only single note lines. Chords - even just power chords - don't work. I don't know why that is but the new device seems to handle that issue a lot better.
I had one of those Maestro pedals. A country musician had bought it, to attempt to add horn sounds played on guitar. The instructions came with a chart of control settings and note ranges, to imitate saxaphone, trumpet, trombone, etc. It dodn't work for that very well. I gladly bought it, knowing what it could do. Other guiatr players warned that I would ruin my amplifier by playing that highly wound up. It was stolen by another band at a shared gig, and they tried to change the enclosure to avoid being caught - we knew they had taken it. In the process, they ruined it, because they knew even less about such things than everyoone else did in those days. A magical time, before there were any vintage electric guitars, and cheap guitars were not relished for their awkward mojo. And NOBODY would ever think of 'relicing' a guitar.!
These seem really great. I'm probably not going to buy from Gibson, though, when there are a lot of small pedal companies I'd rather support. Thanks for the demo.
I have an original FZ-1 pedal. It is a complete freak, and has wiring issues which result in the battery getting really hot if I use it for too long. There are so many different wild sounds you can get out of that thing.
Each pedals sound nice, they have their own tone and all but at the end when they mix them and create something that's when they fly, that's how pedals should be tested, individually at first and then mix them and bring the best out of all of them

That is what I had heard as well. Good info Mike.
Yes, but I believe it was on a Bass VI by Danelectro, that is different from a standard 6 string bass.
I love the new gear drops of a fresh year. Happy 2022! Can't wait to see the Gretsch lineup.

I love Pete's playing when it comes to chorus and modulation. Really tasteful
The moment that Delay went on was PURE MAGIC. Awesome pedals!!!
Already debating these pedals... yeah boy! Thanks guys
I didn’t get these pedals until you played them all together. They have a synergy like they’re not meant to be apart.
Great playing by Pete. The pedals must also be nice, because I've seldom seen him so interested in fiddling during presentation of new product.
Yeah the delay and overdrive combo at the end was great
Man, I'm just in love with Pete's playing all the time
3:21 Okay that got a hearty lol outta me. Its uncanny. I'd never seen his face before.
Great demo!!!!!! Thank you!!!

First time I have ever got my hands on something before the reviews came out. 8/10 lots of room for your feat on these
The pedals look killer. I am putting in a request to have an Andertons uncensored channel where you can upload all of Pete's cut out jokes.
Even as an employee I am geeked about these!!!!
Nice review. Thank you! And yup the Hi/Low on the Ranger was pretty subtle.
Lone Ranger would be my favorite. But, I always called him the Long Ranger because he wasn’t alone and he traveled a long way. These pedals sounds sweet.
Loved the Delay jam tangent. Very nice boys.
Watching Pete disappear into a creative trance was pretty magic stuff!
Ok. A lot nicer than expected.

I loved all the sphincter talk. Gave me a chuckle. The delay sounded pretty good. Pete makes everything sound good.
God, I don’t know why but the switch to the Tele had me rolling. Editing team running on all cylinders, as usual.
that delay is WONDERFUL.
They all had some good tones in them and Pete brings out the best of anything he plays, but it felt like there might be a little magic in that simple delay.
love these pedals, let’s go maestro
These are great, gonna pick up the Ranger and fuzztone
Pete's got the right idea! OD and analog delay. Good stuff!
Pete + Overdrive + Delay = Awesomeness! ;-) Fun demo by the way.
It is insane how much your dad looks like you!
ACE! what cool pedals. you could go all day on these.
Pete, you play guitar like a monster!!! Thank you guys

That last jam was rad, long live to rock&roll
I first thought Robert Mogg's face was super-imposed with the Captain Lee's face, until I saw the real photo in wikipedia.
Lee has to start asking questions, because he looks exactly like Robert Moog. It is uncanny really
🤣
Surprisingly good sounding pedals! ... the Fuzz@!.
They sound good, but I’d think one pedal with a decent range should be able to do what all 3 of the dirt pedals do. The mod on the delay was great
Fuzz sounds like a million bucks 🎸
I like very much the Ranger...
That was almost a cemetery gates riff at the end of the intro. Awesome
totally awesome
14:50 - Mick Jones from Foreigner - Long, Long Way from Home tone nailed w/o even trying. 😀
The FUZZ sounds great in Modern. I might pick one of these up!

This demo sold me on the Ranger drive. With that les Paul Not too sharp, nice warm tone
Excellent ☮️

Oh wow they are great fun. Cool price too. Wonder if they will get to Australia?
That second riff Pete did sounded evil
Creative.
Bugles are great! Hopefully you have Munchos, Funyons and Andy Cap Fries as well!
The best thing about these pedals are the cases and lights.
I'm surprised they didn't reissue their phaser. The one with the big toggles.
'That's borderline! Might be able to keep that in!' :D :D :D
3:18 I can see the similarities : D
Loving that les paul is it for sale?

I'll take the red Invader paired with the green one. The always on green one. They sound great.
Where are they made?
These seem really great. I'm probably not going to buy from Gibson, though, when there are a lot of small pedal companies I'd rather support. Thanks for the demo.
Have you guys switched from using the UAD OX to the Boss Waza for your demos? Am considering the Ox and wondered what your reasons for swapping were.
Nice sounding pedals

Decibels..!
Never realised how similar Lee and Bob Moog look, that's uncanny :O
I'm pretty sure Pete can make some tin cans connected to his guitar by string sound good.
How do I get the whole board? :)
3:26 the resemblance of Lee is uncanny 🤣
The track was Don’t worry by Marty Robbins.
That delay! Very Memory Man, but maybe a bit tastier. I liked the Ranger and the chorus as well, but that delay wins as most likely for to buy. Lol
Anyone know if the new relaunch of Gibson's Maestro effects pedals can handle line level for use with analog synthesizers??
Always very famous was the phaser which I'm surprised they have not reissued
Grady Martin, Six String Bass, The song is Dont Worry.
Used to have a Maestro W-3 for sax...
now i want bugles
Would you be willing to part with one of those KTRs in the back?
HEY YOU
YES YOU
STAND STILLL LADDDY!!!!!!!
If you've ever played the game Destiny these pedals look like the belong in that world. They all look like patterns from the characters' armour!
Each pedals sound nice, they have their own tone and all but at the end when they mix them and create something that's when they fly, that's how pedals should be tested, individually at first and then mix them and bring the best out of all of them
Thumbs up for psychedelic Pete towards the end there
Where can someone find that board? I want the pedals but I also want the board!
That is definitely your dad lee!! wow
That fuzz is nasty as fuck, I wanna use it in a metal context
Can't imagine what Pete said about invaders that needed to be censored when you kept the sphincter stuff in :)
😍
I need a 6 stage phaser from them for John Paul Jones tones
I hope you two are still married when you're 80 ;) great video as always
So... the links to the pedals? Can't find them on the store at all.
Links will be ready very soon! Stay Tuned
3:24 lol
Nacho cheese bugles are delicious
We demand the release of all the edited out jokes from all the videos !!
Pete could make a shit sandwich sound tasty. Amazing playing as usual. Love the stuff you guys do. Thanks.
