- Brunswick, Ohio -- A man tried to turn himself in on his warrant but fortunately for him, the jail isn't taking people on non-violent warrants.
The man was given a new court date and the warrant was recalled. Until, he didn't show up to his next court date and another warrant was issued for his arrest.
I have purposely decided to delay publishing of this video to prevent others from exploiting the former state of the jail. However, the jail is accepting all now. This video was filmed over 5 months ago.
⚠️ Footage from this video was obtained via the Ohio Public Records Act (R.C. 149.43) All suspects featured on the channel are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law ⚠️
As someone who has been incarcerated, trust me, it’s people like her that makes the time more manageable. Kindness goes a long way.

This actually happened to me during Covid . I had a warrant from years ago back when I was homeless and at the time I didn’t care if I had gotten arrested because at least I would have some food and not sleeping outside during winter. Anyways I got back onto my feet found a job making 60k a year doing a lot better and when I found out I had a warrant my heart dropped. So I figured I would turn myself in because I didn’t want to get arrested my job and when they booked and released me I was so happy FYI I went to court a year later and the judge dismissed the case. Even though Covid was a rough time for everyone I’m glad I took care of that warrant during the pandemic otherwise I probably would have lost my job and homeless again
That’s a wholesome story if I’ve read one. Glad your life is straightened out.
What’s the job that was 60k a year?
Damn, I never been in your shoes and I go through a lot in my life. I appreciate you telling your story to us. I'm glad things got better for you. God bless you and your life.
This is awesome. I'm glad things are panned out for you! You've got an angel on your back
Covid was only a tough time for sheep and clods. For lions and Gods it was business as usual. didn't follow any guidelines didn't get sick once.
And this is how you handle your business correctly
By not bothering to show up for the next court date?
This guy is an idiot. He basically got a "nothing will happen to you" and then he still couldn't even bother to be a responsible human.

And then he didn’t show up for his court date and had another warrant issued for his arrest 😬
When the system is collapsing but they still want your money and cooperation to keep up the illusion they have "authority" they don't actually have to begin with.
He seems like he gets in trouble with the law often, and of course that girl would be attracted to a scoundrel like this guy. You can tell by his responses that he's not well-educated. That being said, he did take accountability for his actions, but I would never trust someone like him to stay away from trouble.
@@i-witnesstransparencynews7857 They do have authority. We are at the point where the citizens could never arm themselves against our military, so I don't know what you're talking about. When I was young, I thought revolution was the only way, but trust me, you don't really want a revolution. Everything goes to shit, you don't want an unstable lawless country, with only a "hope" that it will come back as something better. It won't. He. Had a warrant for a traffic violation there’s no need to turn his life around, how you know he was even guilty for whatever traffic ticket he got . Idiot
I showed up 90 minutes late to court and received a class B felony. 10 years and I can have it removed.
Read the description, he ended up getting arrested later anyway lmao
Wait you’re saying we need more people like him but you’re hoping he turns his life around? Your comment is very oxymoron
Man, love that she was so kind, and furthermore the fact that dude turned himself in… We need more people like this all around. If you’re wrong, man up and take care of business!
If someone turns themselves in for a non-violent warrant, then that's the way it should go. It shows they are willing to get it taken care of. No need to put them in a cage if they aren't a danger to society.
Edit: it amazes me how many self-righteous, ignorant people on this comment are against people not being thrown into cages before they are convicted of a non violent crime.
The initial jail time is not part of the punishment as everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Furthermore, everyone who is charged with a crime is not guilty of a crime and not everyone who gets charged with a crime is a scumbag. In some cases the only difference between you and an inmate is a bad day or a poor decision. Think about that before advocating people getting thrown into cages over non-violent offenses before they are found guilty for them.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Exactly and it save taxpayers money!!!
Yeah and no. In a scenario like this, maybe. But if thats the rule, every criminal will just commit crimes and immediately turn themselves in to get away with it. The fact that he could have still gotten in trouble under normal circumstances is what makes him good for doing this.
@@UndeadMunchies you are correct everyone else is living in positivity fairy land if they think even a small minority of non violent crimes could be solved through criminal “honesty and empathy”

Because, that's her Job to Serve and Protect unfortunately not everyone takes there job as serious and lighthearted

This is true! They did this a lot when covid first started. Which was a good thing. I had to pick up a family member and the officers actually waited 2 hours because they really didn't want to take them to jail due to covid. Thee only bad part about this is, it started a bunch of crimes because ppl knew they would most likely get just a court date if it wasn't a violent crime. People were stealing their azzez off! SMDH! I had a similar situation but it went the complete opposite of this. I was told by my neighbor that a sheriff came to my house while I was at work. I thought that was very very strange because I had just been released from jail after 40 days to pay for what I was behind on my probation.. so I drove up to the sheriff's office and basically explained what I was told and they told me to wait. About 15 minutes go by and all of a sudden a sheriff comes from the back and one from the outside at the same exact time and tells me to turn around without explaining ANYTHING at all. So after they cuff me they tell me that they had a warrant issued for my arrest by probation. I say there's no way I just got out like a week ago. So they take me back to jail and I wait 3 days before finally they call me to leave and say that the warrant from probation was never cleared and that it was a mistake....
Yep! Except mine was paid all off over a year prior, and I was picked up because my car broke down in a different county, and was left in that counties jail for a week before being traded off for another inmate in my county on a Friday and waiting 3 days for court. And then, I was the very last one on the list to go in front of the judge at like 7pm so that nobody else would witness how bad they had screwed up. I got no compensation for it. It's ALL a screwed up front.
Mine California 20+ years ago, Wife in hospital all week, On our way home had a CHP on a offramp, someone else pulled over. Went around slow and he pulls me over. Had ticket signed off and mailed in. 1.5 years later pulled over on Friday 4th of July weekend. Warrant failure to appear the prick checked the box for court was in Jail 5 days. Judge threw it out no fine.

The whole “not getting out on the weekend” is the worst. I was a senior in high school when I had just turned 18 and got caught riding the train without a ticket on my way to school. I gave the officer made up information but he looked through my backpack and found my school ID. Took me in on a Friday morning and didn’t get out until Monday morning. It was the worst feeling, I thought maybe there had been a glitch in the computer system and I was stuck there forever.
Been there too bro I feel ya being in a damn holding cell for that long will drive you crazy
In certain Tennessee counties the jails were getting so overcrowded with inmates in there for things like child support/alimony arrears and minor misdemeanors that they had no choice but to start releasing some of the inmates on their own recognizance. Tennessee just passed a law making it a felony to find yourself homeless in public places. The cycle repeats itself. It just never ends
Homelessness should be a crime, this sort of bs wouldn't happen if the government actually cared about the problem.
Step one give every 18 year old or older 200,000$ in credit so they can spend 50k on a vehicle, 50k(100$weekly)food credit, 100k credit towards buying land & a house.
Step two jail anyone homeless who chooses to not buy a home/land with money given to them, this also solves 99% poverty based crime.
Otherwise rent/hotel somewhere on your own dime & shut up.
In total this would cost 66 trillion over the span of 18 years, then drop down to a more reasonable 22 trillion or so every cycle 18 years afterwards at current usa population.
The amount of money this saves the government is insane too, so at least a 7 trillion of it will be offset over those 18 years. So really it should only be 15 trillion/30%ish or so to sustain this program, meaning all you need to do is get everyone to pay in 150k or so on taxes over their life span, if you lowball average lifespan to 68, 50 years of paying 3000$ each year covers that, considering you'll have a reduced/house payment that alone should cover paying that in, then factor in 5,200$ saved in food credit, that also covers for about 10 year of it, too.
This literally pays for itself & makes everyone better off for it.
If it worked like that you wouldn't have anything to worry about. That could have really helped out when I turned 18. Unfortunately I worked minimum wage jobs a good portion of of my early adult years (two of which were seasonal/temp jobs and another one I got laid off when Kmart shuttered their business) and found myself without housing between jobs. I was probably one of the small minority that found myself on the streets but didn't want to be there. Unfortunately like some young adults I wasn't eligible for student loans, a scholarship, had parents that were wealthy, or had parents that saved for my education after grade school. I just think the way the justice system prioritizes crime is a shame in and of itself
I found out that taking accountability goes a long way when I decided to go on the run for 7 months from my PO...she found out where I moved to and I seen her and 3 other POs creeping up the driveway. I hid under my nieces bed and they didnt find me. (On Cops that's always the 1st place they look I thought) Well they left, needless to say...I couldn't sit comfortably at all. Every knock I was jumpy, thinking they were back. Next day, I got up n took a shower...n went n turned myself in. Usually it's an automatic 30 days for absconding. Judge gave me 3. Finished my last couple years of on paper without no more hiccups.
I can't imagine what you were going through but it must be a trapped feeling with that over your head.
Back in the 1960's there was a skit on the old "Red Skelton Show" where his character ("Freddie the Freeloader") kept TRYING to get arrested on Christmas Eve so he'd have a warm place to stay, but the police were moved by the Christmas Spirit, kept showing him mercy and turning him loose!

@@stevenqbosell not really, they already said they aren't taking anyone for shit like that hahahaha. Technically, he's beating the system lmaooooooo
@@_R.Stone_ maybe his dealer was locked up😁
@@stevenqbosell wow what? It's the truth lol they have a million chances to just simply go to your court date on time. If you just call and tell them you need to reschedule due to an emergency, they will always move your court date. It's so easy to get around the court system and people are just too fucking lazy.
At least the lady officer talked to the guy without a attitude and explained everything to him nicely. Hats off to the officer.
Any one man enough to turn themselves in has my respect and I hope the judge does take that into consideration. It shows he wants to do the right thing. Believe me I grew up in and around the system and besides myself I never knew anyone who would ever even think about doing the right thing.
Lol
Seriously... How nice was THAT? 💜💯
I like how she asked about his schedule availability while he was there to turn himself in.
I will never forget when my hubby had a warrant . At this time we weren’t married . It was in like 2011 . We had NO idea he had a warrant and got pulled over . The cop had said it was for a ticket that was not paid and contempt of court . Well he and I had moved so we never got the papers saying he had to go to court . He went and the next day was out . We were so confused but the officer was very professional. We got it taken care of immediately but it was scary when my hubby got taken to jail for a warrant we had no idea he had in the first place
This is the part of law enforcement you hardly get to see im glad the police took the moment to show it ...im glad this young man now has a better outlook and a 2nd opportunity to demonstrate to the courts that its a mistake no need to excessively punish a person who can prove that they can stay on track ..and thanks goes out to the lady Cop who showed remorse and empathy for the young lad alot of other cops might be pissed off with their lives that they prolly would excessively punished him to make themselves feel better ..petty criminals (non violent offenders) have learning curves too so do the police and all the police that live the Golden rule thank you for doing the community a service with your time !
🙏 Amen
I hate how they book reservations. It’s so difficult to get in anymore.
I'm pro accountability for your own actions. Kudos to this man and it's the way I've always been
Thank y’all for the support it was a petty crime but thank y’all appreciate the positive comments
Are you the guy in the video?
@@CapsUnlocked unfortunately
I turned myself in back in 2018 in California when I owed 8 days which would be only 4 days time served. Pretty much the same situation even being pre-covid. I wasn't the only one there was a small group of us and we pretty much sat in booking for 3 or 4 hours and anyone who owed less than 10 days was released with time served. That was an interesting day for sure.
Edit: Just wanted to add that in my situation I did not have a warrant. I had the option to do X amount of days of Work Project or turn myself in on X date. I don't remember how many days of work project they wanted me to do but it was way more than the 8 days I owed so I took vacation days from my job and decided to just serve 4 days. Also, for the curious, it was a DUI charge.
I hope you're doing better now homie.
This was really nice to see. More humanity is needed in the jail systems.
Damm shi crazy, turning myself in as of today 💯 ! Sum times u have to jus get it over wit to receive better outcomes and blessings that life has to offer !
let me know if you ever made it out, you probaly wont but just know theres someone in this world that thought of you. godbless
Give us an update
Before everyone praises this guy as being a good dude, realize (from the video description) he didn't show up to that tuesday court date and had another warrant put out lol.
One step forward, one step back.
lol i knew i am not the only one that read the description, it took me a good 5 minutes to find someone that did tho🤣
Nice to know that this is happening outside of bail bonds as well. Happened a few times where we arrest a skip and try to hand him over to law enforcement, only to be told that they won't take them "due to covid".
Man it must feel horrible knowing you have to release someone back to their family instead of incarcerating them huh
@@jackslimak2831 When you have thousands of dollars of liability on the line, no, it does not feel good. Sounds like you need to educate yourself on what bail really is. It's not just putting someone in jail. Bail is a form of insurance. Educate yourself instead of making statements on a subject you literally know nothing about.
@@jackslimak2831 We should have a little island just for career criminals where we ship them off so they can no longer be a nuisance to normal citizens. Fuck paying $150 a month out of my own pocket to sustain the prison systems that shelter these wastes of life lmao
You better show up for that court date. Pretty much guaranteed not to get any jail time.
It's stuff like this that is the reason you turn yourself in. I've showed up to turn myself in and had them do my prints again and let me leave I was out in less then an hour.
WOW talk about a lucky break!
This feels like when I am trying to be fully transparent at my retail job.
Welp, this guy had everyone rooting for him... until he missed his court date to help put an end to his life of crime.
@Ef Er Bro, what are you even talking about…🤔
Respect for both the young man for acting like a man and taking care of his business and to the officer for treating him with respect. Alot of people on both sides could learn alot from this video
This dude wanted to go to jail so bad. She said you only have one warrant dude said damn really?
Much respect to this man and best wishes.
The guy was all awkward, like, “you’re being too nice to me, i don’t know what to do”🤣🤣
Not gonna lie, COVID saved me life as well. Before that pandemic happened, I was a jobless loser with a Bachelors degree and couldn't find work for 3-4 years so I ended up moving back in with my parents for a while. When it hit, people started panicking and started quitting their jobs so a lot of vacancies at school districts opened up (I'm a licensed speech therapist). I then took advantage and got the job immediately. After I finally got insurance, I finally was able to afford to go get checked by my doctor and he stated that my high blood pressure would've caused me cardiac arrest if I kept up life without medicine for a few more months. I know it sounds wrong, but I'm very glad people panicked when the virus hit. It gives other people a second chance at life
This Is an Awsome upload, Thank You for Sharing this.
No finer example of how laws are ment to bend. How do you expect somthing so flimsy not to get broken?
They don't want you as an inmate they only want the money for fines, court fee's and lawyer fee's,thats all they really care about
She actually cares for others , I love seeing videos like this. It strengthens my constantly dwindling belief that cops are there for us. I hope and believe she’d do it for someone who looked like me also 🙏🏾
You just couldn't resist playing the race card. SMH. Together we stand and divided we will FALL!!! Hopefully you will understand what that means someday soon.
She would !!! Because people don’t care about color !!! I know there is a few people out there that are racist and they can burn in hell and they will . But most people in the world have been brought up to just treat others as they want treated ! Cops ARE there for us . They are here to protect and serve . Trust me when I say people are good , and some people are bad . Police are good but some are bad . They are just people as well .
Boooooo what the fuck. Why’d you have to play the race card. If she truly cared for others, she’d fucking care for blacks too.
@@kennethblain610 what’re you on about ? I said I believe she’d react the same way , idk why it gets you goobers so mad when we state the obvious but it’s not needed
@@kstizz2686 yeah I understand what you mean , lol my father is a police officer actively , so I know how good cops can be and I hear about how bad they can be , if that adds any context to my original comment
You know life’s depressing when even jail doesn’t want you 🤣🤣
Would’ve been so fn crazy if 15 seconds in…
Cop - “Hello sir, the jail isn’t accepting anyone right now, accept for violent domestic crimes”
Guy - **Rears back and blasts his old lady in the face**
I was waiting for it I’m ngl
💀😭😂
u know u down bad when even the jail won't accept you :'(
I give him credit trying to turn himself in!! It must suck to always be looking over ur shoulder in fear of the police catching ya!! Not only that, it truly sucks for family members with loved ones who have warrants do to the warrant unit banging down ur door at 3:00am wanting to search ur home (*unfortunately, I had this happen a couple times while dating ppl who had warrants) but I truly hope this kid can get himself together!! He is still young enough to make the changes in his life so that he can have an absolutely amazing and successful future for himself!!😊
I think listening to her get to the point was punishment enough.
Your a kind human being and I am sure a great officer!
Covid19’s only upside was that jails weren’t taking in new inmates & were releasing many offenders especially traffic related.
