When Balenciaga shoes were manufactured in Italy I could (ever so slightly) agree with the pricetag. They were the Ferrari of sneakers so to speak. But now they're mass produced in China, so IMO they should be priced in the same realm as Nike/Adidas/etc.
i mean just cuz theyre from china doesnt mean theyre all the same. there are probably good chinese factories and ones that mass produce shit but putting them all in the same boat cuz theyre from china sounds a bit unfair...

I am just saying that the labor costs of producing these shoes in Chinese factories is MUCH lower than the costs of producing them in Italy. Therefore there's no longer a legitimate reason these Balenciaga sneakers should still be priced the way they are. Plus, I've read many accounts of a decrease in quality ever since the manufacturing got moved out of Italy.

You made the point perfectly. I maintain that many of the less popular Jordan's (14 and up) would be high fashion sneakers if they weren't "Jordans". If the 18s came out of a fashion house and were called dix-huit , they'd be covered like Yeezys in prior years.

I just bought the Grey washed triple S kicks. I love the defenders, but they don’t drop below retail that much. I love the triple S grey. They’re mad comfortable, bricks, but comfy and they go w anything. I absolutely have loved these for years and got them for under retail.
I love my Saint Laurent and Prada sneakers. I don't own a lot because the price tag hurts my heart but i still love them and to me they're worth every penny. I don't think every designer shoe is worth the price tag though.
