Orisa Lifestyle in Trinidad: Sango

- The bembe, omole and bo make up the Trinidadian bata drums. Devotional songs are delivered in Yoruba with a call and response format. Those familiar with litanies from Cuban and Brazilian traditions will quickly recognize the text of these songs, as well as some unique distinctions only to be found in places like Guyana, Antigua and Grenada.
I extend my deepest gratitude to Baba Mitch, Awotunde Elebuibon and the members of the IworiMeji Temple in in Las Lomas, Trinidad.
