Omg my middle child in 2010!!! I didn’t even have to tell him to knock!! He did it himself. It is one of my best memories that’s connected to him. I told my boys that they can touch whatever they want. Which they did. Thank you Walt for including the consequences when you touch something that MAYBEEEE you shouldn’t 😆 watching my kids jump in so many locations was so much fun!!
Never break in new shoes at a Disney Park......EVER!!! I did it once and my feet hated me for the entirety of my vacation! Don't say I didn't warn ya! 😉
I would argue that Disneyland itself, is a walk through attraction. I always feel sorry for those who wear out their shoes running from one ride to the next and don't enjoy all the sights and sounds along the way. Honestly, there have been trips where I spent one day wandering through the park, just ride the train and Mark Twain, and I'll still feel as though I got my money's worth. Bless the Imangineers and everyone involved in all the little extra details that they didn't HAVE to do, but did any way. I do love the Sleeping Beauty walk through, especially on a hot day or a rainy one. I've missed the Swiss Family Treehouse and its Swisskapolka, so am very much looking forward to the new iteration.
The problem with the Swiss Family Tree House is that the walkway is so narrow, and you can’t really stop to look at anything unless you’re there like right before park closing. Most of the time you’re just rushing through because you don’t want to be that guy who’s holding up the line.
There’s just something special about walkthrough attractions in my opinion. Walking thru these areas can be very rewarding and give hidden experiences. I see it as something you have to work thru by walking, but the reward is the experience that you get. It can be anything from a spectacular view to immersive experiences. I think it adds a lot to the lands across various theme parks, not just Disney’s. Hugely underrated aspects of theme parks imo 👍
As a disabled person, I love videos like this as it gives me the chance to see things about the Disney parks that I would have never been able to see on my own. Thank you for doing these videos dude. I love you so much for this ❤❤❤
The US parks totally under emphasize walkthroughs. My biggest takeaway from Disneyland Paris was the quality and abundance of walkthroughs. Skull Rock, the Dragon's Lair, Sleeping Beauty gallery, and especially 20k were all highlights of my trip.
I LOVE walkthroughs !! The caves at Tom Sawyer’s island and the sleeping beauty castle were my favorite places in Disneyland growing up. Not to mention, the queues of some of the fantasyland dark rides feel like excellent walkthroughs themselves. There’s something so captivating about being able to explore an area yourself, with as much time as you want to discover every little detail. Still sad we can’t explore Lafitte’s tavern or Fort Wilderness 🥲
When my wife and I were in Paris and we spent a day at Disneyland without a ton of time. Loved the walkthroughs like the Hedge Maze you mentioned, as well as the Aladdin walkthrough and the amazing Dragon under the castle. They were really fun attractions that required no waiting in long lines and really helped fill out the whole experience. (Especially considering my wife doesn't do well with thrill rides)
As a disneyland paris person, I just adore walkthroughs, theres something so much more immersive about them and taking everything in at your own pace. Can't speak for the other parks but Paris has some real greats, the cave under the castle with the dragon, the pirate caverns of adventureland, the alice in wonderland maze, the nautilus is so spooky and atmospheric you really get a sense of that submarine claustrophobia. GOD I love walkthroughs.
Love walk through attractions but I always have to make sure I have the right shoes that day. Still surprised so many just walk past the castle without going in the walk through. It is definitely one of the best.
You posted it at the exact same time I finished making my coffee and was going to search for a Disney related video. Every single Offhand Disney upload is like an event to me lol
The Sleeping Beauty Castle is my favorite walk through, especially since I have vintage photographs my father took on his honeymoon with my mom that were from before the redesign we have today. It’s cool to have a piece of that history.
As I've gotten older, I really love the more quite parts of the parks, like the walk through attractions. Unfortunately as I've gotten older, I also suffer some mobility issues that make walking through those things a bit more challenging. Thankfully a good pair of shoes helps. I look forward to the next video!
I am 69 and I remember the 20000 Leagues Under the Sea walk through...I was enthralled by the squid moving around.. ...oh shoes.. I still love the Sleeping Beauty walk through..even though i walk with a cane. You better believe I am going to go up in the new Tree House when it is done...always loved it So thank you for do this on walk throughs because i love them
I've always loved the Sleeping Beauty walkthrough since it's my favorite Disney movie. Same with Swiss family Robinson tree house. I was sad when they changed it to Tarzan, even if I understood updating it for new audiences, but the original holds a special place in my heart
My favorite walkthrough attraction at a Disney park is the Mysteries of the Nautilus walkthrough at Disneyland Paris, especially the Kraken scene in the Grand Salon. It’s mostly because I have a huge love of Jules Verne and Disney‘s 1954 20.000 Leagues movie
Since childhood, walk-through attractions have been my absolute favorite. It's like walking right into the story/magical land and being able to see all the details in real life and up close. Sure, rides are fun but the immersive walk through are where the real magic is at!
i've always lived within 30 minutes drive of Disneyland and so grew up going there alot, which happened to coincide with the Disney Renaissance as well, and checking out those window dioramas were one of the non-ride things we always did because each movie they were showing off was still fresh in my and my siblings' minds
Walk through attractions are amazing and I really think we need more of them. I think the biggest issue facing Disney walkthroughs (at least for the U.S. parks) is the small spaces and narrow paths that can cause us to sort of speed through them without experiencing anything. But I think journey of water is going to change that.
Walkthrough attractions are super popular and prominent in Hong Kong Disney. I took so many photos, least as much as I could. Can't wait to see how they will redo the treehouse here in Disneyland.
I remember the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea walk-through from when I was a REAL little little kid. Side note: Bring back the Peoplemover.... Was just at Disneyland last Monday, we had a bit of rain that helped keep the lines a bit shorter.... Thanks for posting.
I remember walking through sleeping beauty’s castle and being enthralled by the story as a kid. I made sure to bring my niece and nephew when we did Disneyland last year and they jumped at the door! One thing I did note though, and the same is true for the treehouse walkthroughs, it’s not very accessible for people with mobility issues. I’, lucky in that I still can walk up and down stairs, but it’s getting more painful to do. That’s why interactive queues are great because they are fun and accessible!
In some ways I prefer walkthroughs to rides, I like to stroll and it's a little more immersive. It's been gone for probably close to 30 years now, but the little amusement park in my area used to have a walkthrough haunted house that was *amazing!* It started off with a walk through a vine-covered tunnel (with speakers playing creepy sounds) and I would describe the house itself as "like walking through the set of an old 1950s Hammer movie." There was a werewolf guy in a cage, I think a vampire in a coffin, it was the best. People still talk about it to this day too, it was very memorable and well done.
Excellent video, I remember when I was about 8 years old, my family went through the tree house. It wasn't enough to knock my Shoes off at the time, but having grown and actually seen the movie now, I can appreciate it better.
Tom Sayer's Island is truly a hidden gem. Never really appreciated it until last year when I took my 8 and 5 yr old boys. After 3 and a half days of over stimulation at the parks, they ran and played for hours on TS Island, lost in their own imaginations. It provides an amazing break from the crowds and a place for children to be children. Walt understood that value when he designed the Park. I hope they current management doesn't forget that.
Walk-through attractions were something I definitely remembered about Disneyland Paris - the dragon in the dungeon of the castle and the 20,000 Leagues walk-though among others. Attractions like these are also good to duck into when a rainstorm rolls through - wet shoes are the worst!
One of the most impressive walk through attractions was the fortress in Disney Sea. Easily the highlight of my trip to the Tokyo resort. It was highly interactive, and stunning views of the park, and told a small story throughout the experience. It had everything I would want from a walk through
I don't know if there's any chance you'll see this Dallin, but me and my family absolutely love your videos. Been watching since 2017 and your sense of humor is just the best. Also, shoe 👠👟
Walk throughs can be so cool - especially for those who like to take time with scenes! I love just sitting an watching an animatronic run through its whole loop and get immersed in the awesome details artists put into these sets. Something that recently confirmed this (while not Disney) was going through the Jurassic World Exhibition where they had interactive elements and awesome animatronics - it was like a walk through of the Jurassic World ride! Anyway, really excited for these :>
I use to love going to the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse at Magic Kingdom. I didn't get as sick from heights back then so it was fun and there were places you could stop and stand if being that high was to much. One of the best times was around dusk when things were beginning to light up. I've always enjoyed the feeling of walkthrough attractions. There's a simplicity and Americana feeling to them. One of the coolest places, I've ever been was Rock City in Georgia. If a couple can make some caves in a mountain a world famous walkthrough, imagine what Disney should be able to do.
I'm thrilled you mentioned the corridor of goons but it kills me to see people not talking about the windows in that Corridor. Everyone talks about the door that shuts itself but nobody talks about the two other literal jump-scares in that space
Shoes. I agree--the walkthrough attractions are some of the best, and my fave is also the Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough. I wish they didn't close it so often though. I know they have to because of the evening shows, but still...I wish they wouldn't.
Fortress Explorations in Tokyo DisneySea is so detailed and creative. There is also an optional interactive scavenger hunt type activity called The Leonardo Challenge that is SO rewarding if you have someone in your party that reads Japanese. If not, it’s still great to walkthrough and explore the area and is the original S.E.A. attraction.
Since I only go the the park several times a year I'm not used to walking from rope drop to closing. I put a second pair of comfortable walking shoes in my locker. Early in the afternoon when I eat lunch I will switch shoes and my feet feel amazing for the rest of the day and night!
I don't know that i have a favorite. but i do love the leisurely immersive experiences...i love line queues that help tell the story. i love Sleeping Beauty, i love Tom Sawyer's Pirates Lair...all of it!! especially when wearing my comfortable shoes!
My favorite walkthrough is Walt Disney One Man's Dream. I love learning about Walt the man. Been trying to talk my best friend into a road trip to Marceline Missouri
I love the Swiss family treehouse, I love treehouses and the idea of living in nature. I only got to go through it a couple times though because I’d have to leave my mom as she is disabled. She’s been able to make it through a couple times, but her hips just aren’t built for stairs
This actually reminded me, I'll be hitting DW in May, and I need to get some new shoes ahead of time. Haven't been to either of the parks in years, really looking forward to it!
I like to buy new shoes a month or two prior to heading to a Disney park, it gives me time to break them in and then I can look a little bit fashionable while browsing shops and enjoying the thrills
Also love the walkthroughs, especially Swiss Family and the caves, and even more so when you have the time to really stop and take everything in. Aka off season (whenever that is now), when they first open, for the most part 😅
I adore a good walkthrough! If you ever find yourself in the SW Washington/Oregon, check out Enchanted Forest. You can tell it's very Disney inspired, and had excellent experiences like this (including a 7 dwarf mine to wander through). Shoes
I'm always admiring your shirts in these videos. Maybe we need a good walkthrough of your wardrobe. Maybe you also have disneyfied undies? pajamas? SHOES?
If you’ve never been to Disneyland Paris and you’re a walkthrough fan, you need to book a trip asap. Such a beautifully landscaped park with amazing walkthroughs. Part of Adventureland is called Adventure Isle which is home to an amazing version of the Swiss family treehouse. Below this you can go through the roots and down into Davy Jones Locker, through to skull rock and out to pirates beach. There’s also a replica of Captain Hooks pirate ship to climb aboard. Also in Adventureland is Le Passage Enchanté d'Aladdin. Fantasyland has Alice’s Curious Labyrinth. Inside the castle, upstairs is a walkthrough story of Sleeping Beauty, whilst downstairs and through the dungeons you will find La Tanière du Dragon. Discoveryland has a walkthrough of the Nautilus though it hasn’t been open in a while. Honestly such a beautiful park and attention to detail is incredible.
Thanks for another fabulous video 🌸 have you been to Disneyland Paris? You mentioned the Alice in Wonderland maze, wich is aMAZing, but they have soooo many great walk throughs there. Adventure Island is my absolute favourite, with the arcades a close second. Oh, and the Sleeping Beauty castle stained glass window gallery. With those incredible wowen tapestries 💗 Tha Nautilus has been closed for ages, but hopefully will reopen soon too. Magnificent!
BTW, that thing you couldn't identify was a thermometer. And I absolutely agree! Walk-throughs are perfect for guests who don't enjoy thrill-rides that much. =)
This is a point I've always agreed with, walk-through attractions provide some much needed variety to the sometimes repetitious pacing of theme parks. Everyone knows a current problem with Tomorrowland is that Disney doesn't know what to do with all of the land's tiny convention halls and theaters, but doing walk-through attractions would be a perfect solution. Putting a walk-through spaceship or home of the future in the old alien encounter building would be a great, and possibly very cheap fix. Maybe even throw some moving walkways in there like space mountain's post-show used to have, or that new minions attraction Universal is making.
I can't speak to Disneyland since I've never been to California, but in the '80's, at Orlando's Disney World, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea was an underwater submarine ride.
I took my classmate from Germany who has never been to a Disney Park to the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough and told them to touch the jumpscare Goons' door LOL. They were surprised!
I am soooo excited for the new haunted Mansion movie and future of our beloved attraction!!! I'm also going to looooove the tree house soooo much!!! I didn't hate the retheme but swiss family was superior and this, this is going to be amazing👏👏👏👏 Ive never been able to do the castle walk through but this trip in may I am making it a point because you speak so highly of it and because I've always wanted to, we're going for multiple days and it WILL happen lol I got my star wars night tickets and im soooo psyched 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I think my favorite walkthrough attraction is what pirates of the Caribbean was going to be. I might be a little biased because ot's my favorite ride but it still would've been cool to see it as a walkthrough. Also, shoes!
Great video D! I love the experience in Sleeping Beauty’s Castle! Also Tom Sawyer’s island is a place I feel I can kick off my SHOES AND run around under the shade of the trees! One walk through I’d love to be able to do someday would be a walk thru of the Grand Canyon Diorama and the The Primeval World 🦕🦖 in the last tunnel on the DRR!! MAHALO CUZ!🤙🏽
Moana has nothing to do with the theme of Epcot. Like is it a Hawaii pavilion; or a Micronesia pavilion? It's not about the future. It would have to be firmly tied to a specific nation or else about the future, because Epcot is basically a permanent worlds fair. That's it's theme. It's not just magic kingdom part 2. If it were they would call it that. I'm a hobbit so what do I know about Disney theme parks . About as much as I know about shoes I guess....
the thing with walkthrough attractions is they hardly ever are accessible. i have to use a wheelchair when i'm at disneyland, and for the most part, its a really, really accessible place. but walkthrough attractions just weren't build with wheelchair users in mind.
Yes! Disney needs to get much better at this. Luckily, it looks like Moana is accessible. But, they didn't do anything to make the Adventureland Treehouse more accessible and I'm very disappointed by that.
Not "based OFF" - "based ON" - because that's how bases work. Also, here's me, mentioning shoes. And what was that about SCA? I am formerly from Ansteorra...
Still waiting for that Lafitte walkthrough under the Rivers of America...
I named my hamster Captain Lafitte when I was a kid 😂 Something only Disney fans would appreciate
Be sure to have your shoes ready for it!
Right after the Cuscotopia retheme of Matterhorn
Me too because of this channel. Thank you so much Dallin
oh my dear god same here.... never EVER again!
Me too!
Wear docs or berks. Thank me later.
Rookies…
Not a problem with Vans imo
I would argue that Disneyland itself, is a walk through attraction. Tarzan made that problem worse. I don't think that problem is going to go away anytime soon with the tree house coming back.
100% correct. "Go" is a refrain you hear all the time.

The US parks totally under emphasize walkthroughs. My biggest takeaway from Disneyland Paris was the quality and abundance of walkthroughs. Skull Rock, the Dragon's Lair, Sleeping Beauty gallery, and especially 20k were all highlights of my trip.
I’d love to see these and the ones at Tokyo Disney Sea someday, the photos all look amazing.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle is my favorite walk through, especially since I have vintage photographs my father took on his honeymoon with my mom that were from before the redesign we have today. It’s cool to have a piece of that history.

Disneyland Paris is amazing with walkthroughs. The caves around Pirates and the entrance to Frrontierland is very expansive.

Fort Wilderness was my favorite place outside of the rides in Disneyland. Indiana Jones queue was my number 2.
I remember the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea walk-through from when I was a REAL little little kid. Side note: Bring back the Peoplemover.... Was just at Disneyland last Monday, we had a bit of rain that helped keep the lines a bit shorter.... Thanks for posting.
I love walkthroughs, but one time my shoe broke while I was walking through one. That’s why you always bring an extra pair!

Oh, don’t forget Villains Grove at the Oogie Boogie Bash! There’s just something so cool about it. No scares, not even any figures, just vibes.

Shoes are CRUCIAL to a good Disney Parks experience… especially for all those walkthrough attractions 😜

Love your shoes offhand
Closed toed shoes are a must for Disney trips
Nice homa'ge to ped powered attractions! I must admit that I got an offhand glimpse of your classy shoes selection whilst wandering the treehouse!
Fortress Explorations in Tokyo DisneySea is so detailed and creative. It’s still just a garden with water features that’s taken Disney FIVES YEARS TO BUILD…so far.
Disneyland Paris has a lot of walk through attractions and it’s fantastic. I wish we had more in the states

Don’t know if this counts as a walk through attraction but villains grove at Disneyland is a great experience!
It is a walkthrough!! And it’s super fun I love villains grove :)

2:30 cool seeing the drawbridge go up
How Epic would have been Rollie's Museum of the Weird? That walkthrough would be super immersive.
i love the windows scenes so much
I adore a good walkthrough! If you ever find yourself in the SW Washington/Oregon, check out Enchanted Forest. You can tell it's very Disney inspired, and had excellent experiences like this (including a 7 dwarf mine to wander through).

Shoes. 😊 And my favorite is the castle, too.
Nice walk through attraction video. It so good that shoes wore out just watching it!
“…a lil toy car for Sally or a dolly for Bobby…”. Perfect. 💯 🤙😍 PS: SHOES!! Love your vids D.
BTW, that thing you couldn't identify was a thermometer. And I absolutely agree! Walk-throughs are perfect for guests who don't enjoy thrill-rides that much. =)
Is that Kitra from Ordinary Adventure @ 50 seconds?
I like interactive cues. I feel the Mine Train cue is fantastic. They may use a few things from there.
Outstanding! Rock on young man!!
Every chain and rope line is a missed opportunity for a walkthrough attraction. Shoes.
I love walk throughs but man it’s really good to rest my feet after the shoes start hurting
Thank you for your videos. Can’t wait to go back to Disneyland, even though I’ll have to break in new shoes before going!
I always wished I could have done Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour. Out of what I have done the Haunted Mansion line is the only thing that comes close.
I am soooo excited for the new haunted Mansion movie and future of our beloved attraction!!! I'm also going to looooove the tree house soooo much!!! I didn't hate the retheme but swiss family was superior and this, this is going to be amazing👏👏👏👏
Ive never been able to do the castle walk through but this trip in may I am making it a point because you speak so highly of it and because I've always wanted to, we're going for multiple days and it WILL happen lol I got my star wars night tickets and im soooo psyched 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I feel that the exit of Toy Story Midway Mania counts as a walk-through experience
I think my favorite walkthrough attraction is what pirates of the Caribbean was going to be. I might be a little biased because ot's my favorite ride but it still would've been cool to see it as a walkthrough. Also, shoes!
I just found the best pair of shoes - perfect for walk-through attractions. 😉
Always love your content and SHOES!!!
Wow dalen thx. I never even realized I really needed a jump scare door in my home.
Thank you for doing this! You understand and appreciate Disneyland. I wish I could have gone thru the 20k leagues exhibit.
I would love to do the walk through in France at Alice in Wonderland.
0:50 - pretty sure that's Kitra from Ordinary Adventures. Accidental crossover episode !!
I like the slower rides and walk throughs are fun!
I would love to make it to some of these walkthrough attractions, but I have to bring the right pair of shoes!
the thing with walkthrough attractions is they hardly ever are accessible. i have to use a wheelchair when i'm at disneyland, and for the most part, its a really, really accessible place. but walkthrough attractions just weren't build with wheelchair users in mind.
Yes! Disney needs to get much better at this. Luckily, it looks like Moana is accessible. But, they didn't do anything to make the Adventureland Treehouse more accessible and I'm very disappointed by that.
I wish they would do anything with the motorboat lagoon area. I’d take a walk through attraction at this point
Disney should make a walkthrough attraction about Lafiette and have an animatronic version of his SHOES
Some walkthroughs do basically have show buildings. The Mysteries of the Nautilus in Paris for example.
Not "based OFF" - "based ON" - because that's how bases work. Also, here's me, mentioning shoes. And what was that about SCA? I am formerly from Ansteorra...
