Curtis wrote Tend the Ground around the need to care for our environment and one another. He drew inspiration for the song while reading the encyclical. He says, "We should take care of the earth because it takes care of our kids. We take care of one another because that's how God's love is planted in our lives."
Everything gives praise to God, glory to God. As we take care of the environment, we take care of one another.
