- Learn how to collect data from a predefined form using google docs Forms. In this tutorial, I show you how to use a Google form to collect data and have google auto collect the data into a spreadsheet, this is brilliant if you need to use a simple form so mistakes cannot be made and then collect this information for further processing in a spreadsheet. Google docs are only getting more powerful and with functionality being added regularly to the platform it makes it a great free tool to utilise.

As of 3/5/22 I don't see the "preferences" button discussed in the video, however, creating or adding to a spreadsheet as discussed starting at the 12 minute mark works great! Love that it will automate once set up. Thank you!!

So, now that I read your question, I'm wondering why I didn't know the answer. Yes, it is possible to copy data from one sheet to another sheet. I do this weekly.
🖱Hi-lite the cells you want to copy and press the "CTRL" + "C" keys.
🖱Put your cursor in the top left cell where you want it to land and right click.
🖱Hover over "paste special" then you get a fairly detailed menu of stuff you can copy.
🖱Choose the one you want. If you want to choose more than one, you have to right click and repeat each time.
At least that's how I've been doing it. If there's a quicker way, I'd like to know too.

I need to create a purchase order form to send to vendors. I created the sheet with drop down menu and vlookup to fill in the form but i want to know if i can make the form seperate so that other people at the company can use the purchase order but not have access to the google sheet. Does this make sense?

This is great stuff and pretty much what I am looking for. However, I have a question on my form and the answer will determine what sheet my response will be stored in. My google sheets has 5 tabs (Sheets) and I would like my responses to be stored in the correct tab. How do I do this?
Yes looking for an answer to this, also a dropdown in google sheets which when selected determines the set of questions which are suppose answered.

When I have a multiple choice question in forms, it will collect in google sheets the marked boxes separeted by "comma".
I would like to collect the unmarked ones in another columns in google sheets. Is it possible?

Thanks for this video. I'm trying to figure out how to get the data from the Forms(Responses)sheet into an existing sheet automatically. The existing sheet uses all the data plus extra columns ( like validating and calculating the incoming data). Do you know how to map that data?

Importrange and query
I don't think you can do that, just make a separate sheet and link it to the google form. After all the response it updated paste it on the existing sheet you want. You don't have to do this if you start creating a new sheet from the form.

Is there an option in forms that will create multiple tabs in sheets?
I created a form step-by-step along with the video. When I got to the incognito part I was prompted to log in. I'm not sure what I did wrong since I followed each step exactly unless there have been changes to Google Forms since this tutorial was made.
