  • Saudi Arabia's Largest-Ever Plane Order Goes to Airbus, Not Boeing | Firstpost America
Saudia Group, the owner of Saudi Arabia's national airline and budget carrier flyadeal, has signed a deal with European planemaker Airbus, which is the largest ever in the country's aviation history. It has placed an order for 105 planes that is reportedly worth $19 billion. Saudia Group's Director-General Ibrahim Al-Omar says the first planes would be delivered in the first quarter of 2026. The deal marks a bounce-back for Airbus, just months after its American rival Boeing had been tipped to win more Saudi business. In November last year, Riyadh Air said it was weeks away from placing a large order reportedly involving Boeing planes. However, months later, no such order has surfaced.

Saudi Arabia choice has nothing to do with Boeing's problems.
Right now, Saudi Arabia exports 7bn worth of goods (petroleum) to France and import only 4bn (2022). Most of the French export was weaponry. However, the French is pressing their President to stop the arms sale to Saudi Arabia. So, Macron urged Saudi Arabia to buy something else (like Airbus).
it's all "business", do not get ahead of yourself.
