Sir I am from ace engineering academy sir but I am not understand such a simple concept in my coaching But your explanation and way of teaching is very good sir thank you sir.
sir ur taking contact area is very small that means it is zero..if contact area is negligible then how can we take contact force fc it is negligible then we take zero na sir...please clarify my doubt sir
Ghouse Babu there will be number of points where contact between particles will occur. Since each small contact will give resistance against applied load. Contact area can be ignored but resistance offered can not be. Because if we ignore contact pressure in dry soil then total resistance would be zero therefoe it would show large settlement due to small value of applied load. But it never happens. Therefore we can't ignore contact pressure. Here in this lecture I have not ignored contact area.... I have ignored ratio of contact area and total cross sectional area, which was very less.
Force P is the load applied anyways from above😂 that then converts to contact load after it comes in contact, lol if we assume it As zerO fir to gate Me ham hi Hero✌✌😂
Shear stresses do not affect the contact forces between soil particles directly, as they act parallel to the surface and cause soil particles to slide or deform relative to each other. Shear stresses are not affected by the pore water pressure in the same way as normal stresses, and therefore the principle of effective stresses does not apply to shear stresses.
I didn't got the last 2-3 lines Sigma bar = F/A but not meaningful then why we studying it and what the lambe and Whiteman done if there is no use of it 🤷🤷🤷 can anyone explain clearly 🤔🤔
Bahut dino ke bad aj sir effective stress clear hua h sir very... Thank you sir

12:11 pe pore water pressure ka effect upper ki trah hi Kyu liya hai?
Jab Baki soil ka stress niche wale direction me liya h???

The principle of effective stresses applies only to normal stresses
