Ngl, that original scene TERRIFIED me as a kid bc I had no idea what that reference was and it was very confusing and eerie, as I'm sure it was for many in my age group. Then my mama explained to me who he was lol. (Thanks mom! :D) Even though the humor of SpongeBob has clearly declined, it's still nice to see the modern show is paying homage to the classic moments!
