Comgrow Air Assist installation and testing - Cleaner cuts using air!

- Adding an air assist to your diode laser can greatly improve the quality of your cuts and cut down on the clean-up time getting your parts ready for the final product. In this video, we look at the Air assist kit from @ComgrowOfficial and install it on our Z1 10-watt laser. This kit also works on the 5-watt Z1 as well as the Xtool D1 lasers.

Nice video! I got my Comgo Z1 about a month ago and my air assist set up was different. First, my red laser shield was held on by magnets. Second, my air assist kit came with THREE different air assist nozzles. I ended up using the longest one and secured it to the laser module using the set screw on the nozzle. The nozzle I used is the same height as the red acrylic guard, so I still use the same height adjustment block that came with the machine
Interesting that there were that many changes. My Z1 is only about 6 months old and I bought the air assist a few months ago, but just got around to installing it.
@@Vintauri agreed.. I saw another video on the same subject and it was the same situation.. Mines been working great! Comgrow has been very responsive on the tech support..
I just got my air assist today for my Z1 10 watt. Still in the box. Will have to look at the nozzles now that you said that.
If you have a XTool D1 Pro with the air assist port on it already will this work instead of buying the more expensive XTOOL pump?
Yes it would work otherwise there are many air pumps available online without all the extras if you already have the nozzle on the laser. You’ll want something that puts out close to 30L/min.
@@Vintauri Thank you. I kind of figured that. I have a D1 pro on the way, I purchased your laser enclosure plans so I will have it done by the time it gets here.
Is it not dangerous that you can't put no more the light shield protection ?
I always wear my FreeMascot OD6 laser safety glasses when running the lasers even with the shield on or in my enclosures. The shield is okay, but often gets in the way and light can still escape from them. amzn.to/3VeQRE8
