Of all of the tools on a homestead, the brushcutter and chainsaw are the two most used. With all of the buildings, fence lines, roads, trails, small trees, and other things that need trimming, a brushcutter is a must. String trimmers are just too small for the task. Hi Larry, absolutely! I picked up some quality plugs and will do a full tune-up and greasing. Hopefully that does the trick and I'll have a reliable back-up!
One of the draw back for string trimmers that I have found is it may be to ones advantage to wear some tall rubber boots so your shoes and pants are not covered in grass.
Hi 51ubetcha, that's for sure! I'm covered head to toe after a day of whacking grass, but I generally just brush it off. It's not hard to do if it dries for awhile. Compressed air helps as well. It's the price you pay for neatness I guess 😉
I think the 223 is a professional model, and this is just a homeowner one. I would've gone with the 525 to be honest. It has better antivibration, better harness, and overall built to last more time. I know that it costs more, but I think it's well worth it.
I have an older 223 and they are no longer manufactured. The 336 is the professional model. I have the "Harness Balance XT" harness which is better than the "Balance 35" harness that comes with the 525. The major difference is slightly less horsepower and a flex drive cable which are the same as the 223R I am replacing. I don't feel any vibration at all, but maybe that's the harness. I'm not convinced at all that the professional model is worth the extra price. It does have a bigger gas tank, so I'll give it that 😉
@@PlanetMojo Well, If you are happy with it, that's all that matters. As far as I can tell, the R models are homeowner grade, and the RX, RXT, RS are professional models. I have the 135 R, which is the top of the homeowner burshcutters of Husqvarna. I mean it's basically the 336, but without some features like mine has the standard harness, and less antivibration. And I think the 336 has a metal, or plastic plate under the tank, which the 135 R does not. I can feel the 'non proness' on my model after like 1,5-2 hours, because the the at the trigger side of the handle, my hand starts to hurt a little. The pro models would not do that, because those are made to be more comfy for long hours. Yours maybe is better, because with the smaller engine, and string, it must have less vibration overall.

I believe they revamped their entire line 😐 But like I said in the video, I cut thousands of small trees as well as did all of the trimming on our 35 acre homestead with the 223R for four years. If I were doing professional work, a bigger unit would be called for, but with the top of the line harness like mine, the 129R is well capable for the job. The next model up is the 525RX which didn't have anything important enough to warrant the extra hundred bucks. I'll be cutting a few hundred trees again soon. That will give a better idea of performance. I used the 336FR a good deal last summer, and liked the 223R better, so I'm sure this will do fine. If not, maybe the wife will let me get another one 😉
@@PlanetMojo The 135 R is still manufactured. I think it's just never been introduced in your market. Like here, the 336 isn't available. Instead, the even more pro version, the 535 rx is. That is also based on the 135, and 336, but the air filter is different, it has more power, etc.

@@mikelillie2338 yes it's a gas hog I have to start it 5 time's because it keeps dieing and ballging down on me but it does work I took down some thick rubarb type plants and cat tiles with the grass blade I'm looking to get a chansaw blade for it
Just purchased the 129R and was wondering if you had a video on changing from string trimmer to blade cutter??... and what blades you would recommend as there seems to be lots of choices...thanks
