I'm indonesian and i was surprised as well when i first hear their song haha. Most indonesian songs that go well in the music charts are ballad, melancholic(?) songs (if that makes sense sorry for my bad english :p). I agree with you that this song (and probably most of their songs) are more into american style, they worked with international producers (as you can see on the credit title/video description). You might want to listen to the whole album, it's a nice one ;)
