Today's Highlights:
Today marks one year since Kevon Solomon aka Yank boss was shot and killed inside his vehicle at the Trincity Mall carpark and justice is yet to be served.
Although Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has not yet announced a date for the 2025 general election, the People’s National Movement (PNM) is calling for the nomination of candidates for eight United National Congress (UNC)-held constituencies.
Following the announcement, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said the party is ready to contest any polls and is confident they will beat their rivals.
Two teenagers were stabbed during a confrontation at the People’s National Movement's Sports and Family Day in Skinner Park, San Fernando yesterday.
A total of six (6) murders were recorded in the country between Friday and Sunday.
• Four of the murders took place in the Eastern Division and the other two took place in the Central Division.
• Five of the victims were shot to death while one victim is believed to be beaten to death.
• One (1) teenage boy was among the murdered victims.
A teenage boy was one of three people killed during a shooting in Mendoza Street, Matura which also left one man injured on Saturday 22nd June, 2024.
• The deceased were identified as 20-year-old Andre Maloney, 21-year-old Malcolm Richardson and 17-year-old Sherwin McFarlane, while the injured victim was only identified as a 30-year-old man.
A man only identified by his alias Barbojie who was known to police was found shot to death inside a vehicle in Couva on Saturday 22nd June, 2024.
The body of a man who is yet to be identified was found murdered in Farm Road, Warrenville, Cunupia on Saturday 22nd June, 2024.
36-year-old Dominic 'Saskie' Callender of Sapphire Drive, KP Lands, Valencia was shot and killed outside his home on Friday 21st June, 2024.
A man identified as 30-year-old Keon Forde collapsed and died following a physical altercation with another man near Clifton Towers off St Paul Street in Port-of Spain early on Monday 24th June, 2024.
Police are investigating the death of 43-year-old Sherwin Tait who died following a scuffle with a woman and her son at their home along Emon Lane in Valencia on Saturday 22nd June, 2024.
A woman narrowly survived a murder-suicide attempt on her life in Moruga early on Monday 24th June, 2024.
• The victim was identified as 30-year-old CEPEP employee, Kadeisha Weston-Ransome.
The funeral service for the late Stephen Sookhan aka Steve took place earlier today at Boodoo’s funeral home.
A 30-year-old laborer identified as Miguel Montano was shot during an altercation with a man along Pemberton Street in La Romaine early on Monday 24th June, 2024.
Two men were injured during a shooting near a minimart in Glencoe on Sunday 23rd June, 2024.
26-year-old Marcus Springer of Red Hill, D’Abadie was ambushed and shot along Ali Jhan Lane in D’Abadie, Arima on Sunday 23rd June, 2024.
Two teenage boys were shot in two separate shooting incidents within 24 hours.
In the most recent incident, a 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded at La Vie Pool Resort in Arouca on Sunday 23rd June, 2024.
In the second incident, a teenage boy was injured during a shooting along a dirt track that connects First Street and Prizgar Road in San Juan on Saturday 22nd June, 2024.
A 23-year-old man crashed his vehicle while fleeing from gunmen in William Avenue, Morvant on Friday 21st June, 2024.
A man was shot and wounded by gunmen dressed in camouflage clothing along Tabaquite Road in Rio Claro on Friday 21st June, 2024.
