There is a very crucial thing missing in this video that I didn't understand until my employer told me. Here's the thing. Yes, you never want to become the gauntlet, but at 14:50 you mention how you can su into the root as a sidenote. It's important to make the distinction between **SWITCHING** to the user, and **CONNECTING** to your box AS ROOT. This confusion almost led me to have my nameserver have a security issue. Yes, I would have implemented this if my employer didn't stop me right there. Other than that, thanks for letting me think about this and you inspire me to become a better networking engineer with your easy to diggest explanations.

You have been such a HUGE help in my journey to becoming an ethical hacker! I love the way you explain things because im able to focus on what im learning. Thank you! I'll definitely continue to watch!
Wow! What an amazing way to get your point across. I have been using Linux on my home PCs since the early 2000s I know how to do the things I need to keep my machines running, but your instructions really fill in some gaps for me.
So this was great! Great content, and great fun way to teach. Two things I learned beyond the video, but within the scope; and I think they were worth mentioning even if it was without explanation. 1: Removing a user does not remove their home directory. This is expected if you come from Windows, but I thought it would be helpful to mention here because he did show that the user was missing from the passwd and shadow files. 2: The other would also 'seem' apparent, but isn't necessarily. Removing the group also does NOT remove the entry from the sudo permissions file. I wouldn't expect it to, but I can see how some would.
I am used to watching YT videos mostly at 1.5x, however, this man, this guy here, is so fast on a normal mode, I have to watch at 0.75x - hahaahaha!! You are amazing man.

Going ancient! In college I had to learn Fortran and Cobol. I set up the first networking for Casper College to link the computer lab and the University of Wyoming. I was teaching 2 classes while I was attending the same class I was teaching. I didn't have a beard so it was still interesting. With that said, Chuck is one of the best teachers I have ever had, and yes I did graduate in Computer Science from the University of Wyoming. Love this guy and his way of instruction.
This is a next level tutorial, just wanted to thank you very much! Yes the Avengers analogy is corny, but it works perfectly and I learned the principles flawlessly, thanks again!
Hey! Just a quick pointer to anyone looking through the comments. Not only do HTB have a great option to run linux in your web browser. BUT Ubuntu have a great guide to installing and setting up a USB Installation to work alongside your current OS and share your Hard Drive as a Partition! Dont worry too much about the terminology, just have your phone handy if you get stuck on the installation as I'm sure there will be a tutorial on RUclips to talk you through it!
Love your videos Chuck - I recommend them to all of my SE friends, even though they aren't in IT per se! I've been totally noshing everything Docker Linux and Kubernetes that you have provided! Any-who I just wanted to let others know, early on in the video when you didn't have the permissions to adduser thor, instead of hitting up and going to the beginning of the command string to type sudo and rerun the command you can just type sudo bang bang (aka - sudo !!). The bang bang ( !! ) command is a shortcut to repeat the previous command you entered in your terminal. this is super helpful especially if your command is a beast. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Chuck ! I love your teaching style and sense of humor ! Feels like we are having fun while learning, never thought those two words could be in the same sentence.
21:10 you were teaching as my father when he is fed up with explaining me things again and again😂😂😂. Thanks you are the best youtube teacher I'VE EVER MET❤❤❤
claim vs opinion claim is an assertion that something is true, often supported by evidence. An opinion is a personal belief or feeling, which does not require evidence and is inherently subjective. so if it idea with factual base -> claim , idea without factual base but just feeling base.. then opinion

Step 1: Get a domain, step 2: install iRedmail, step 2a: answer the questions during the setup, step 2b: restart, step 2c: configure domains and users in the iRedmail webinterface, step 3: Portforwarding on your router, step 4: whitelist your external IP on Spamhause's website, step 5: Enjoy your new self-deployed mailserver. It took me under 1h to get everything up and running on my home server.
@@borisvokladski5844 cool

I watche upto this episode without writing or practicing the commands much. So it's time for me to write down all the commands and practice them before I head towards the next episodes.
Thanks NetworkChuck, you're a great teacher.
sir so many thanks ........ first time found a great teacher who teaches in boring topics in such fun way........ I wish I could learn linux completely from you Sir........
Love the analogy and teaching process Man, most probably this is the best video of Linux i have ever seen. Hope this series will continue. Like to watch more .
I saw gauntlet and I said
Yup...
Cant ignore this one
Best hacker, teacher, guider and a father ❤️❤️
You're a motivation chuck 👍
You have been such a HUGE help in my journey to becoming an ethical hacker! I love the way you explain things because im able to focus on what im learning. Thank you! I'll definitely continue to watch!
Wow! What an amazing way to get your point across. I have been using Linux on my home PCs since the early 2000s I know how to do the things I need to keep my machines running, but your instructions really fill in some gaps for me.
This was one of the most educational videos i ve ever watched, thanks sudo!
You are amazing man.
im from france just starting linux with ur videos and daym ur explanation and ur way of thinkings are goods thanks a lot

U r the best teacher and a successful RUclipsr. Wow I am seriously with u.
La mejor explicación de Linux que he encontrado hasta ahora. Excelente, profe. Gracias.😎
You explain everything in detail which I had learnt by exploring, for the past 2 years. This is amazing bro!!!
I also have recommended your channel to people who asked for ethical hacking courses and Linux tutorials. They'll never get disappointed :)
Another amazing video! I think I've learnt more here in about 4 videos than I have anywhere else! This is crazy! You have an incredible ability to hold peoples attention and make it interesting too!
Also, the only youtube channel I have ever thought of subscribing to...
I haven’t commented In a while..... 1st off it’s good to see you back. Congrats the baby, you look healthy and focus, hope everything is good brother.
I certainly do not remember having watched a linux video this video. It felt like a movie summary video 😂😂😂 Video finished in a snap and all knowledge consumed.🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are the only guy that awake me while learning❤
The fact that you linked the whole movie into a Linux course... that is a very smart move...
i used to have this guy on my recommendations when i first started 'i was completly lost and i thought that his is just click baiting and maybe he wouldnt be much of a help then boom he is my favorite person on youtube now i love you man
Going ancient!
You sir are the best!!
Much appreciated, I'm a big fan of your work!!
i watched to many youtuber to learn kali linux but you are the best broo keep going like this, i never gonna change you
So far you've been the only person to keep me interested in BASH so thanks and keep up the great work!
You're the only one who can both make me laugh and learn new things at the same time! Keep it up 💯
Thank you Chuck ! I love your teaching style and sense of humor ! Feels like we are having fun while learning, never thought those two words could be in the same sentence.
OMG! The quiet little "meow" at 5:24... PRICELESS!! ❣
21:10 you were teaching as my father when he is fed up with explaining me things again and again😂😂😂. Thanks you are the best youtube teacher I'VE EVER MET❤❤❤
I’m on this episode and this was really fun to do, thank you!
claim vs opinion
claim is an assertion that something is true, often supported by evidence.
An opinion is a personal belief or feeling, which does not require evidence and is inherently subjective.
so if it idea with factual base -> claim , idea without factual base but just feeling base.. then opinion
