You and I both got hit by cars while cycling in 2014 and both had a lot of surgeries with a long recovery. It hasn’t been an easy road BUT…..you inspire me not to give up, get out and enjoy life. Thank you.

Damn Kool..Lives are pretty much the same .. I went through a dramatic accident over a decade ago. A truck decided to take me out during one of my rides . Paralysed the entire right . Forget the bones they healed, the mind though has taken its time.. Maybe I should pick up an Africa Twin to speed things up .. Nothing but joy to follow Vanessa, Ride on ..
Last winter I was chronically sick. Made some major health changes, and am feeling much better. When I was going through the thick of it, I was dreaming of off road adventures. I finally got my new dual-sport at the end of last season. I am a 42 year old female who will be learning how to ride in the dirt! Women like Vanessa truly inspire me. Yay dirt riding!

I'm back to motorbikes after 35 yrs plus. I'm taking my test bought a triumph tiger and I'm gonna tour Europe for a month ...me my bike and a tent. Your definitely a inspiration to everyone and that includes me my accident was no way as horrific as yours but I definitely have struggled through it but it was more of a mental mind thing but with the help of a psychologist I’m getting there so from me thank you for your positive it’s been a tremendous help to me so keep doing what you love and thanks for sharing
Super inspiring, and very brave. I myself had a similar accident, only mine was riding to Ushuaia from California. To avoid a dog I went off a cliff in Peru. Similar operations, the difference is that I didn't find the courage to get back to motorcycling for nearly 25 years. Am riding again but only street bikes. Due to the pins on my hip, the problem with the dirt bikes/dual sports is the seat heigh, even with lowering kits. The range of mobility is compromised, and I can't confidently raise my right leg over the seat specially with some gear on board. Oh well, such is life. Once again Kudos to you, you are living an awesome life, congratulations.

Inspirational story, very open and honest, I’ve been lucky enough to fracture my skull once and have a good try for a second fracture. Bone from the ears up! Nothing serious unless you count diabetes. You recovery was long and hard but your flying now, may you enjoy many years of adventures and experiences ahead.

@@TheGirlOnABike Not really great detective skills. I used to live in Townsville in Queensland Australia. It has a large Institute of Marine science and I knew quite a few. Even went on volunteer dives on the reef before the OHS laws stuffed all that up. That plus I have lived with the odd biologist or two.
Hi, I hope you're well. Now that you have experienced cycling and motorbikes, what do you feel safer on when riding on the road? I cycle and bought a motorbike a year ago, Yamaha xt250 to go on the dirt, and feel much safer on the moto than I ever did on a pushie even though a couple of cars still tried to run me off the road. Thank you for the videos, they're great.
Vanessa, as a retired paratrooper, I certainly understand pain. Kudos for overcoming that. But you must stop promoting EV's. They were dis-proved over 100 years ago because they are not reliable in cold weather. EV batteries are ridiculously expensive, cause environmental harm when recycling and are down-right dangerous.

that's a very strong opinion. I'm all for trying a wide mix of what's out there so enjoy the variety.
