There's something inherently charming about PC-98 Touhou music. It's hard to pinpoint why, but I love it. So, it's amazing to hear arguably the best theme in DDC get arranged in it's style~ Great work, as always.
Kaiser Dragon I agree with this. It would be hard to capture the best part of the original theme, but Hertz has done it and better with the FamiTracker, so who knows.
I know its been uh, quite a while since you uploaded this video, but would you by any chance still have the original mp3 file for this? The mediafire link is broken, and likely has for years at this point. This is a really great piece, and I'd like to have the mp3 file for myself.

Akyu's Untouched Scores handles panning slightly differently but the original PMD song files have no panning information associated with them so I remain the PCM percussion unmodified
It would probably be the other way around where Shinmyoumaru is just the one to go bigger instead and then she just tries to stomp you as a big danmaku bullet.

Now I wonder... how would the PC-98 Touhou themes sound in a SNES soundfont? I know that the PC-98 is already 16-bit, but I am kinda curious how they would sound in a better soundfont (the Sega Genesis chiptune already sounds similar, so I dont really know if a remix of this fashion would work, but I am not that much of a 16-bit chiptune specialist, so then it might have some differences I dont know about). If only I could do SNES remixes, though... well, maybe when I get older, I guess. XD

Jvizzlezz For me, it's a struggle between Little Princess and Illusionary Joururi. Pristine Beat is also pretty damn good.

I think this gives an interesting perspective on how ZUN's composition style has changed over time. Also, I love the YM2608.
Shinmyoumaru's theme is arranged kinda like a PC-98 theme. I just realized that today. So this theme isn't that good of an example.

Without a hitbox indicator, (But this is in the style of LLS so there would be slowdown) it wouldn't.

When I heard the original theme a few times, I decided it would sound great in 8 bit too.
I searched of a 8 bit version and it seems I was right!
Note that the sound engine has not been updated for 16.5 years (right now). It will not work on a 64-bit environment.

What do you feel about a shining needle castle PC-98 cover? i think it would fit the bill perfectly
I sort of consider the OPNA superior to the Genesis/Mega Drive's OPN2... because it has it's own PCM channel and the six rhythm channels.
if you use a soundfont not the real PMD you are never going to get everything right and exploitable
