40:33 I made a similar comment on a Theorizer video. Squidward brings to mind the Dunning Krueger effect, a phenomenon where a person believes they're already the best at something, so they don't ever improve at it. Squidward does have artistic skill, though almost everything he tries to create, be it his hundreds of self-portraits, playing his clarinet for people, his talent show performance at the Krusty Krab, or even becoming an art teacher to Spongebob, is in service of his ego, believing he's so great and talented that everyone will love them off the bat, but obviously this doesn't happen and people don't like it. However, he has made impressive things during the show's run, like the marble sculpture (which was made by total accident), or when he manages to book a clarinet concert. So yeah, Squidward has skills, his ego just gets in the way a lot of the time, most likely leading him to be too confident and not try as hard as he could be, probably without even realizing it.
The Mrs.puff and the evolution theory are my favorites thus far. I always find it satisfying to go back to older cartoons I used to watch and find out the plausible reason for certain things, it makes it far more interesting and cool if there’s a dark reason behind it . Alex Bale is a legend 🙏
Mine are the television theory, mrs puff theory, the evolution theory, the goofy goober alien death cult theory, the robot invasion theory & the time travelling ghost pirate theory, I almost liked his squilliam theory until he said he and squidward were gay, which is obviously false
I think Squidward is actually Spongebob’s guardian kinda make sense because I mean Spongebob is still act like a kid (like if he been all by himself he might messed everything up and Patrick would probably make it worst) and even though Spongebob is annoying there’s a time that Squidward care to Spongebob (like that time when Mr. Krab get money over Spongebob’s soul and Squidward actually stand up for him, plush him walk away would probably happen to anyone even Alfred done that with Bruce Wayne in The Gotham Tv Program)
There's one theory I can actually debunk right now: The episodes of the secret box and the donut can't be connected. The theory said that the party Patrick was at the previous night before taking a donut was where the embarrassing snapshot of Spongebob at the Christmas party wasn't true. It wasn't hidden what that party was for. Spongebob said it himself. That party was for Patrick, since it was his Birthday. It was a Birthday party, not a Christmas party. Therefore, the theory can't be true. Especially since we didn't see any snow on the ground when Spongebob was walking to Patrick's house.
Patrick may have celebrated his birthday on Christmas because that was one of the few days when he can be with all his family and friends. Patrick has two sisters the barely remembers. Bikini Bottom is a tropical place. There can't be natural snow except when an iceberg arrives to the island. So, the snow we see in Christmas episodes is very likely to be artificial.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Seven Deadly Sins theory. I won't doubt that the creators may have had it in mind when making the show, but I feel that most analyses of it tend to ignore the deeper complexity behind what the sins actually mean. A lot of people just take the sins at face value when there's more to it. Plankton being envious and Krabs being greedy, those things are hard to argue with, but the rest of the characters aren't so clear-cut, in my opinion. Squidward is jaded and angry but most of the time, I think it's understandable. If he really was wrath, why'd he feel so bad about almost killing Spongebob with a bomb-pie? Let's be real, would you be super happy about living Squidward's life? Honestly, Squidward fits pride MUCH better than Sandy to me. And Patrick may be lazy, but he takes care of himself and he has no responsibilities or obligations. If he were neglecting those things, it would make more sense to call him a sloth, but he's not doing anything wrong. Spongebob being lustful, I'm not so sure about that. He's just a positive guy who really likes the people he considers friends. Maybe a bit eccentric, but not sinful. They may fit the sins at face value, but there's more to it than that. Oh, and Gary is a snail. He eats a lot for the same reason my dog eats a lot; what else are they gonna do?
My theory is that the sins they represent aren't their overall personality as a whole, but rather the UNIQUE thing about them Spongebob: Loves a variety of stuff, unlike the rest of the cast who usually loves a specific thing Mr krabs: Obvious Plankton: Also obvious Squidward: Both him and Sandy could have a uniqueness of pride, but squidward has more anger Sandy: Somewhat explained in squid ward Patrick: Could be sloth or gluttony, but gary is gluttony, this is because Patrick is the only lazy one Gary: Explained above

There is theory (or it might just be me) that the pufferfish in the first SpongeBob movie is Mrs. Puff’s husband, this might have something to do with the theory about Mrs. Puff (but to be honest probably not, but I couldn’t resist putting it here).
I think I can debunk the theory about squidward being SpongeBob guardian first the fact he literally tried killing him multiple times and tried to make him get hurt a lot of times also there was times SpongeBob needed immediately help because his life was in danger and squidward did nothing to help seem to me that if he was his guardian he would have helped
For the bikini atoll theory, I don't think most people actually think of it as being canon to the show as it exists now, obviously it's grown far beyond whatever ideas it was conceptually founded on, but I think it's probably very likely that that was a big source of inspiration for the setting

The television theory would also explain the people shooting the characters in the tv/house scene in the episode “Truth Or Square”. For a matter of fact, that was one of Alex Bale’s points he made in his Television Theory video.
I've got one. Spongebob and Patrick actually know and try to make Squidward angry and miserable. Remember the episode when nematodes drink Spongebob's house? In that episode, Patrick says, "Is it time already to ruin Squid's day? Hey, Spongebob. Don't start without me!" That proves that while it seems all the things the two do to Squidward are unintentional, they actually are. Spongebob and Patrick enjoy bullying Squidward. Why? I don't know if there's a legit reason, but sometimes bullies pick on others for no reason at all. Just to make themselves laugh.

The squidward and squillium dating aspect has a huge hole in it squidward has said that squillium was his high school band rival, not to mention squidward seems to be pretty straight throughout the series I mean the dude is IMMEDIATELY infatuated by two women (well sort of when you consider one of them was a disguised Patrick but still he thought he was a girl)
The only reason Alex bale made that assumption is because in an episode I can't remember the name of Squidward had a robe that looked like squilliums that was different to his purple robe that he usually always wears
Maybe on high school they were rivals in public to disguise their secret dating, and that their breakup was so traumatic that Squidward decided to never be interested on other boys anymore

On the boat propeller theory, do the flowers appear in the episode set in the 1800's with coffin jockey and such? If they do then I'm guessing they aren't actually boat propellers, but something similar to actual flowers, since flowers are relatively new when considering the age of the earth. Hence why none appearing in the prehistoric times would make sense. Also with using Pearls mother as meat, a whale is huge but not infinite, and it will eventually rot. So unless Mr. Krabs is actively hunting whales, the meat will eventually run out, or go rotten.
Nice video! Quite agree with it. Just one little sidenote ^^ Multiple Personality Disorder does no longer exist (for a few years already) and is currently called Dissociative Identity Disorder ^^
There is a male pufferfish in shell city. He is repurposed as a lamp. When SpongeBob mentioned to Mr krabs that Mrs puff doesn't like to talk about Mr puff, we see a seen of a pufferfish as a lamp.
Alex bale actually explained this.just like @corey eves said,in the spongebob movie, when they travel to shell city, there is a pufferfish repurposed as a lamp, which is mr puff.but spongebob and patrick activates the sprinkler system which revives all the dead fish including mr puff.but sadly, mrs puff escaped new kelp city and made a new identity, so mr puff would have no idea where she is
Fun Fact: There is no meat in the Krabby Patty recipe, which means part of the Evolution theory is incorrect. I just now realized that the creators were probably lying, however I still don’t think that is true because why would Mr. Krabs try to get money off of something he feels terrible about? Even with Mr. Krabs personality, it just doesn’t make sense. I agree with the “SpongeBob and Patrick rewrite time.” Theory because even though Sandy’s ancestor wouldn’t be in the ocean, the events of Dunces and Dragons did still happen because (SPOILER WARNING ⚠️) At the end of the episode, when they get back from the medieval world, Squidly the medieval version of Squidward comes into the modern world. And the “Mr. Krabs made the story’s up” part, yeah that isn’t gonna work considering when it said he discovered by accident, it’s actually just Karen telling the story, you could argue that Karen lied, but that wouldn’t work because for one, Why would Karen be lying about a formula she doesn’t even know? Two, Karen is a computer, so she’s probably telling the truth. The SpongeBob is immortal theory doesn’t make sense because first and foremost, there are many gags in the show where SpongeBob is shown growing a beard, or becoming old which doesn’t make sense for this theory. Secondly, SpongeBob probably survives everything just because of plot armor, so… yeah. I just want to make it clear, I’m not hating and every theorist that made these theories are fantastic people, as well as Alex Bale.
i have my own theory that says that different episodes of spongebob take place in alternate universes with the same core setups and meanings, just varied. this would explain the inconsistency around old man jenkins design. this would also explain why sometimes the characters act differently or how things in one episode have no effect on the next one.
squidward honestly never looked that bad with his art to me/actually remember my music teacher using him as an example of how to properly play the clarinet(be hilariously heartwarming if spongebob simply did that to make him get noticed.). with the neptune theory always thought the show's was the previous one with the movies being his legacy/a grown triton though never knew that copyright was the reason why(though think that's iffy with mindy being in the birthday bash that i think would be a nice finale with a send off celebrating the little yellow guy especially patchy finally meeting him.:3). patrick does seem to really have something against sandy with him kicking her twice and triggering her(considering he got beaten up by a hibernating bear sandy/used as a coat probably holds a bit of a grudge.) . just took it pearl's mother died before she knew her but mr. krabs killing her from a primal war is dark. remember as a kid loving seeing the real life influence of goo lagoon when watching blue planet. never thought about that flower theory as i thought it was to show even with the hysterical craziness the laid back feel of the series like with the bubbles reminding it's all underwater but that does fit with how we don't see the sky flowers in prehistoric bikini bottom. with the rewrite think the formula got forgotten in dunces and dragons(medieval sandy could've been enhanced with plankton's magic as she was working for him though that would be a funny shock for sandy to see on her family tree.) with the friend or foe one being mr. krabs & plankton's own version rediscovered. and thought patrick's secret box image is the picture of spongebob ripping his pants in the nickmas specials.
The Boat Propeller idea sounds cool and logical, except for the fact that in Spongebob B.C. Before Comedy/Ugh, there are indeed boat propellers in the sky despite it being in the past.
In the first theory, there are even more examples of Squidward liking Spongebob than those. Like in the Hash-Slinging Slasher, Squidward says, “I’ve always sort of liked you!”, to Spongebob while thinking he is about to be killed.
Thank you for saying that Mr. Krabs killed pearl’s mother (aka his wife), to use her parts about Krabby Patties. It saved me a comment and a reply, (and yes, once again, because I watched all of Alex Bale’s theory videos I can confirm that Alex Bale did say this).
This theory also explains how Mr. Krabs has a whale for a daughter ( it’s because he had s*x with a whale ( aka his wife), and then they both had Pearl).
The embarrassing photo of SpongeBob during a Christmas party was shown in a Nickelodeon commercial years ago when I was a kid to promote all the Christmas specials. The photo is out there! I remember in the commercial Hey Arnold and those brown and yellow beavers were in the background of the shot as well as Doug so it was a pretty old commercial
Here's another piece of evidence that supports Squidward being talented, he has stated to have mastered all artistic media and it is shown in the episode Squidward the unfriendly ghost
The "Flowers are boat propellers" all fall flat when you realize that Spongebob bce also had those flowers in the sky...also they interacted with the flowers all the time, they are supposed to be their clouds or something
You could combine the "devil's tango" karate metaphor with them being a couple and sandy not liking Patrick as Patrick not liking Sandy and SpongeBob being a couple.
Fun fact: In the SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff The Patrick Show, the Bikini Atoll theory could be actually true, as in one episode, Patrick actually goes back to the 1950s, and goes to a Dummy town (Kinda like that one map COD) and it was an actual nuclear testing site!
@@wishbonefan Are you referring to Camp Coral? Theres a scene where little Sandy calls the Sandy we know from the main show (even in the main show animation style) and says it was a great idea to send her to this timeline to make sure that everything stays on track. Squidward is almost always trying to get SpongeBob out of his life. Edit: to avoid writing a lot of comments I’m going to say that they are a lot of things you will say that is going to be incorrect (probably), but there are also things you said (already) that are incorrect.
I find the metaphor theories to typically be a stretch for most shows, especially when applied to random episodes and not just a very very surface level analysis.
I have a fan theory about the episode rock bottom the theory is that everything that happens to spongebob was all because of the bus driver who took him there and that all of this was an act of revenge. First of all the bus driver was repeatedly getting smacked in the face by spongebob with his balloon and then the bus driver took him to rock bottom purposely in order to inact his revenge and then the revenge part comes with the buses the bus driver may have definitely radioed the other bus drivers to mess with spongebob in order to get revenge that would explain why three buses pass by immediately when after one of those rock bottom fish steal spongebob candy bar from the vending machine and the reason patrick got out was because he did nothing wrong and the bus driver didn't want him involved. In fact if you think about it spongebob directly mentions the horror of bus drivers in that one episode in which he was trapped in the tunnel of glove with pearl and then when they were walking spongebob was talking about all sorts of monsters and one of them was a bus driver.
The secret ingredient is love Because people who have no hate against cooking can cook it without problems And some theories suggest that there is no secret ingredient It cant be real meat because the writers said it was vegan
The theory of the Stole was somewhat proven true. In the episode where they reverted back. My guess in why the past episodes exist then. Is because the humans might've convinced them to dress up and play a part. Those episodes are pushed together for a TV show by the ones who are filming Bikini Bottom (Humans)
I loved this video, also fricken sweet u mentioned Alex Bale, but you should check out the channel The Theorizer. He shows great evidence to these theories. Again love this channel!
I believe you are incorrect about not seeing any other crabs in SpongeBob, we do see Mr. Krabs relatives in the episode “Senior Discount”, and on multiple occasions (like in “Sailor Mouth”, for example) we see Mr. Krabs mom. Edit: I forgot we also see Mr. Krabs nephews in an episode also, this means that we would also {probably} see one or more of Mr. Krabs siblings.
I think the two neptunes can be attributed to the roman-greek versions of Neptune. one is more laid back, like in the movie (This one called poseidon) and one is more head-strong and battle ready, like the cartoon (This one called neptune) both go by Neptune at times, but they are separate deities.
My theory for the 2 Neptune's is that King Neptune simply just got older. This is why he is less muscular and more bald in the movie if it's the series finale.
I'm sorry, I really wanted to enjoy this one, but Kifinosi's voice just grates on my ears. I'm sure he's a lovely person, but he does not have the voice to carry out a 40 minute long video in my opinion.
My theory is that Squidward had a really terrible childhood and suffered childhood trauma because of this, hence why he acts the way he does, especially towards Spongebob and Patrick.
Wait a second, if SpongeBob was born in 1986, and if he joined the Krusty Krab in 1999, this means he would be 13 years old when he first started working. This mean SpongeBob is an example of CHILD ABUSE (jk but seriously how was he 13 years old when he started working)
A possible theory for the crabby Patty formula Is that Mr. Krabs's family created the original recipe and Mr. Krabs and plankton created the more well known formula
You forgot to mention this, but the whole thing of Squidward and squilliam being a thing doesn't have a lot of marit, since Squidward has shown many times in the show that he isn:t gay. There's the time Squidward got disgusting when he found out Patricia was Patrick, in that date episode when he started fawning over a girl, and even recounted that it has been a long time since he has dated, then it cuts back to Squidward and a girl dancing at a prom together in this old 1920s style filter, tho the sympolism is that he hasn't dated since high school, again showing that girl with him. Bring honest I'm just glad it is just a theory and not canon, cause being honest, it would kind of ruin my childhood.
This is probably my favorite BS to Truth Bomb episode as I like a lot of the truth bombs, but I kinda have to debunk you're final theory on the formula. 1. Friend or Foe confirms how the formula came to be as Karen was there the entire time recording the fight between Krabs and Plankton, leading to when the formula was (accidentally) created. 2. Trying to debunk Friend or Foe by saying Old Man Jenkins "Died" isn't a good argument. Old Man Jenkins is a Prop Character. He's not supposed to be a fleshed out or consistent character, he's usually just a plot device or a gag character. Also there's multiple characters named Old Man Jenkins who look and sound nothing alike. It's not uncommon for the show to reuse character models.
@@raptorzeraora2632 If Mr, Krab's is "deceiving" everyone, why would Plankton play along and try to tell his side of the story, if by your logic he shouldn't have his side of the story since Krab's is making it up. And again, Karen recorded the whole thing, from Krabs and Plankton's fight, the accidental creation of the formula, and Krabs selling Krabby Patties to the kids at school. Unless you can prove that Karen faked the video, your argument doesn't hold. And even if she did, why would she? What would she gain from that?

It’s also worth mentioning the theory that the alternate universe in “The Algae Is Always Greener” may have been the direct result of had Krabs and Plankton switched positions in their tug-of-war for the formula in “Friend or Foe”
My theory for the 2 Neptune's in this universe is that Movie Neptune is actually Triton

Agreed, anyone with a brain would know how bullcrap that theory is
OOH, then you'd hate MatPat's video on Sonic Frontiers lore.
24:18 i think he is immortal to a stander, he can still die from old age but cant really die from getting hurt

There's one theory I can actually debunk right now:
The episodes of the secret box and the donut can't be connected.
Why would he celebrate his Birthday on Christmas? It appeared to only be him and Spongebob at that party.
@@loganbrony130 The fact SpongeBob and Patrick are the only ones that appear doesn't imply they were the only ones that were there. The animations are focused on the interactions and memories between the two characters that joined them. If I remember an specific conversation, I think about the people I took the conversation with, not all the people that were on the street, restaurant, house in that moment.
There's no logical reason for them to celebrate Patrick's Birthday on Christmas. There's no way that's where he got the picture from.
@@loganbrony130 Some people, specially people born between September and January, celebrate their birthday in Christmas day because it's the only time in the year they meet with certain loved ones.
Completely agree. It falls apart outside of krabs and plankton for the majority of episodes
And like spongbob being lust doesn’t make any sense especially because he is asexual like. Loving other people isn’t a sin
@@yk-db4ot not to mention that lust, as far as I know, is not just bound to sex. You can lust for a lot of things, none of which SpongeBob does.
Patrick nowadays is basically gluttony because of how he just eats everything that he can get his hands on.
My theory is that the sins they represent aren't their overall personality as a whole, but rather the UNIQUE thing about them
Spongebob: Loves a variety of stuff, unlike the rest of the cast who usually loves a specific thing
Mr krabs: Obvious
Plankton: Also obvious
Squidward: Both him and Sandy could have a uniqueness of pride, but squidward has more anger
Sandy: Somewhat explained in squid ward
Patrick: Could be sloth or gluttony, but gary is gluttony, this is because Patrick is the only lazy one
Gary: Explained above

This theory can easily be debunk
I mean Mrs. Puff does have an ankle tag in one of the episodes that was part of the plot for that same episode.
There is theory (or it might just be me) that the pufferfish in the first SpongeBob movie is Mrs. Puff’s husband, this might have something to do with the theory about Mrs. Puff (but to be honest probably not, but I couldn’t resist putting it here).
Aged SpongeBob is an Immortal God is still plausible. Especially since he still can age despite being unable to die.
And he has once hold a restraining order against him as well.
For the bikini atoll theory, I don't think most people actually think of it as being canon to the show as it exists now, obviously it's grown far beyond whatever ideas it was conceptually founded on, but I think it's probably very likely that that was a big source of inspiration for the setting
I don't think the Sky Flowers theory is ENTIRELY true since they were also featured in "Ugh" and "Pest of the West".

The squidward and squillium dating aspect has a huge hole in it
squidward has said that squillium was his high school band rival, not to mention squidward seems to be pretty straight throughout the series I mean the dude is IMMEDIATELY infatuated by two women (well sort of when you consider one of them was a disguised Patrick but still he thought he was a girl)

Growing up my mother tried to get my brothers and I to become religious. Sending us to Sunday school every weekend. I really don't remember much about what we learned. However, the one thing I remember was a play the church set up to teach us the evils about SpongeBob and cartoons. Claiming that secular media was anti-rrligious.

I believe it's like anime there's filler episodes that you dont need to keep the important things
I actually thought of that as well a few days ago, to me seems pretty probable
squidward honestly never looked that bad with his art to me/actually remember my music teacher using him as an example of how to properly play the clarinet(be hilariously heartwarming if spongebob simply did that to make him get noticed.).
with the neptune theory always thought the show's was the previous one with the movies being his legacy/a grown triton though never knew that copyright was the reason why(though think that's iffy with mindy being in the birthday bash that i think would be a nice finale with a send off celebrating the little yellow guy especially patchy finally meeting him.:3).
patrick does seem to really have something against sandy with him kicking her twice and triggering her(considering he got beaten up by a hibernating bear sandy/used as a coat probably holds a bit of a grudge.) .
just took it pearl's mother died before she knew her but mr. krabs killing her from a primal war is dark.
remember as a kid loving seeing the real life influence of goo lagoon when watching blue planet.
never thought about that flower theory as i thought it was to show even with the hysterical craziness the laid back feel of the series like with the bubbles reminding it's all underwater but that does fit with how we don't see the sky flowers in prehistoric bikini bottom.
with the rewrite think the formula got forgotten in dunces and dragons(medieval sandy could've been enhanced with plankton's magic as she was working for him though that would be a funny shock for sandy to see on her family tree.) with the friend or foe one being mr. krabs & plankton's own version rediscovered.
and thought patrick's secret box image is the picture of spongebob ripping his pants in the nickmas specials.
‘Squilliam is a Fraud’ kinda feels like a fanfiction more than a theory tbh
Despite mindy being paramount property, she made a cameo in SpongeBob’s big birthday blowout at SpongeBob’s party

Then what about his son?
I'm sorry, I really wanted to enjoy this one, but Kifinosi's voice just grates on my ears.
I'm sure he's a lovely person, but he does not have the voice to carry out a 40 minute long video in my opinion.

I also do
Big city greens theories from b.s. to brilliant!
Which Disney Prince would survive Squid Game and DreamWorks Heroes Weak to Powerful.
Friend or foe doesnt confirm anything, its mr krabs deceiving people
@@raptorzeraora2632 If Mr, Krab's is "deceiving" everyone, why would Plankton play along and try to tell his side of the story, if by your logic he shouldn't have his side of the story since Krab's is making it up. He's trying to steal the formula so why he try to help Krabs protect it?
And again, Karen recorded the whole thing, from Krabs and Plankton's fight, the accidental creation of the formula, and Krabs selling Krabby Patties to the kids at school.
Unless you can prove that Karen faked the video, your argument doesn't hold. And even if she did, why would she? What would she gain from that?
