    Hi Thanks for the efforts in making videos. We are going to NWT this year. Been doing canoe trips for many years and now, after all this time, with RUclips, I can communicate with fellow trippers.

    Thanks for directing me here, haven't seen this video of yours. I will use these tools to get me out into more secluded areas. Next tricky obstacle is figuring out parking in some of these areas.
    BTW I was at outdoor adventure show and listened to your lake Superior paddle and it had inspired me to get up and do that region this season. You are a great ambassador fo the Ontario paddling community. Keep up the great work!

      Yeah, parking is always a tricky bit, especially in the winter. Look at satellite imagery for clearings and Google street view for highway pulloffs. Always my go to!
      Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the talk too. Superior is such a magical place. You really can't go wrong with any route along it's Canadian shores!
      Happy exploring!

    Great video to post in the winter! Been meaning to do one like this but for bikepacking routes. Lots of the same advice applies. Cheers Brad!

      Thanks Paul! I hear you! I use CULPA and a couple other tools to plan my backountry bike routes. Bikepacking is sweet! Watched a few of your trip videos. I usually try and get things down a 20-25lb pack similar to what I'd race with for training purposes. Recently though, I've thought of adding the saddle/frame bags for extra storage. Love the setup and storage possibilities you've shown.

    I don’t have enough words to thank you for this. Lol I was having a hard time with the crown atlas finding access points. Thank you again for all this amazing information and your hard work helping this beginner at canoeing.

    Thanks for another great video. These resources are sure to help me plan my routes better. I have a question regarding what you use for navigation, do you use a GPS device, compass or something else? I've only used my phone so far but I am wondering if GPS are more accurate for finding well hidden Portages and such?
    Thanks again

    • @ExploreTheBackcountry
      @ExploreTheBackcountry  5 лет назад

      I use map and compass for most of all my navigation. I use a GPS when bushwhacking, Helps keep track of where your at, as it's nearly impossible to bushwack with a canoe on your head and shoot bearings. Can't say enough about keeping waterproof physical maps with you. They're an invaluable tool if your electronic device fails and it will one day. I've had numerous dead battery issues, especially in colder weather and have had 2 GPS's break/stop working mid trip. The GPS accuracy in phones has come a long way, but GPS deceives are still the way to go for accuracy, and durability

    Great resource. Thank you for all your efforts to restore/preserve/share these routes. I’ve utilized a lot of your resources for planning. MyTopo is a new one and I still struggle reading Crown Land Atlas. Damn colours are so close to the same, maybe I need glasses. I must say, I love the art work you have displayed on your walls, it’s very Brad.

    Clarissa Spencer is the real Spencer Family from Ottawa and she went to Langstaff Secondary School Students as she was with Us as Royals in Windsor Ontario Canada in 1975 when 7 years old at Glenwood Public School.

    Meh....too complicated. I think I'll just nap on my sofa for a while.🙂
    It's a little complicated, but seems a lot easier than what I've been able to find out in Quebec. Public land maps, or lack of, are a pretty regular complaint from many people.

    • @ExploreTheBackcountry
      @ExploreTheBackcountry  5 лет назад

      Yeah, it's not a simple process with the numerous land designations. I could probably make an hour long video on all the finer details involved... Once you plan 1 or 2 trips, it gets pretty easy. Best advice to start out: get some of the guide books and backroad maps mentioned and go from there! 😀

    Clarissa Spencer and her Ottawa Tribe with short Blond Hair are the target 🎯 of EII to 'remove from the cliff' as Parliament Building of EII is there instead on the Spencer Family Land. Any help would be appreciated if you have a Silver Suit and Bugatti by saying "Ditto".

    Saw you tossing that WCPP map from Chrismar, Brad.. you needed to throw it much farther! haha. Check out the link I sent you a while back. (or email me for a new link) My WCPP map has been updated recently.. It's looking pretty awesome (if you ask me). Looking to go public with it this winter. @explorethebackcountry

    This new logo is the Side By Side Ontario Government website. It is Ontario Parks and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. It is not the real Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources of the Government of Ontario which does not charge any money 💵 to do Canoe Camping. The Side By Side of the MNRF is a Money Racketeering for EII Money 💵. They are all English Anglo-Saxon that work there. The takeover is not complete as Government of Ontario Staff Buildings are well known locations. Moving in a rural area is too difficult for the English to con the Canadian Government Staff into a move and rebranding to the new location as they did in the late 90s. The Government of Ontario Staff are all Canadians. That is why I was fired twice at CVC and at OHT as both are Side By Side Takeovers of OMNR and the Acts of the Province of Ontario. They did NOT like me there when I arrived as real Ontario Government Staff of the Ministries. I was really in a fight with many people as Insiders among naive Canadian Staff as I am Sr. Government Staff of Ontario and had to protect Interns who are Canadian from being conned by their system especially Waterloo Interns as Young Women. The KC I had to just ignore as conned into working at CVC as they accepted the tax system funding of CVC when I know OMNR runs off an Ontario Government Budget to pay Canadians. They canned me at CVC because I was getting too much acceptance by a Knight working for UDI Tom Hilditch so the DG Developer Devil Saxon did a move on Rae Horst the General Manager to get me fired the day the TEEM was accepted by the CVC Board all Politicians though. As the Ministry Staff of the Ontario Government know there is no Board of Politicians for ANY Government Staff Office at the OMNR. I had experience in dealing with OMOE as well in the Politicians looking for Briefing Notes and House Notes to do their Speeches to address issues and My Boss Ed Piché was a Bald Clone and so I knew he was not going to stand up to them as the Conservative Mob Party moved in to "Take down Ontario" quoting Mike Harris the Premier and I saw Ernie Eves with black beady eyes with no sclera as he ashed as black carbon at a pre-dinner meet and greet at a Parliament Building in Ottawa Dinner at Joe Clark's Progressive Conservative MP Dinner as Stephen Harper came in with Italian Mob and took over physically to put himself in as Leader of the Conservatives Federally. There was no more Joe Clark around after that. Dalton McGuinty was taken out at a 'sisters wedding' but he has no sister and Kathleen Wynne the Homosexual ⚢ Lesbian Premier took over without any Election from him as he 'Resigned'. Kathleen Wynne is using John Wynne RCMP Retired Fraud Squad name she stole as John Wynne does the Audit of the books for the Richmond Hill Naturalists and our last RHN meeting starting 1955 was the AGM in April 2017. So I know the takeover of Ontario and Canada very well through My Experience as Government Staff of Ontario. I AM Canadian 🍁
