The Hunter Gatherer Really? I wouldn't even say they aren't well known; I think only people who simply don't listen to this kind of music would not know Chevelle...
This is why I love Chevelle. With each new album, they evolve their sound and change things up, but still keep that classic Chevelle style. None of their albums sound the same, but they stay true to who they are even so.
Is anyone else fascinated by how certain words are not just pronounced but their shape and sound in certain singer's voices? I get such joy from listening to each syllable. (I'm sorry, I wish I could be more eloquent about how this song makes me feel.)
No your absolutely right. Benjamin Burnley has a couple words or vowels he pronounces kinda weird while singing. So does adam guntier. In fact I've heard the new three days grace singer trying to sound like guntier, saying/pronouncing certain words/vowels like guntier and it bothers me. An exaggerated example would be scott sapp of creed. I know his is more of that 90's Eddie Vedder thing but he also has words/vowels that he pronounces "weird". Idk maybe its something they do to make themselves unique or different from the rest
baymeo split Oh mine too. "Forfeit" is one of my favorites cause of his scream. Let's just say I may or may have not listened to the cd yet and it may or may not be very awesome indeed.
What I think is cool is that a guy like me in his middle 60's loves Tool and Chevelle. I'm going to die at age 99 with a headphone on rockin to Zeppelin, Yes, Jethro Tull, Tool, Chevelle, etc. My dad and grandpa died sitting in their bed, if I'm in my bed I'm going to banging my head to the groups I listed. It's amazing I can still hear. But the concerts I went to in my 20's, just wow!!!!!Rock on dudes.
I totally agree with you. I’m 57, raised in Denver and saw so many excellent concerts including Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and many more. Unfortunately though, I do have some hearing loss from those and working in clubs with live bands but it was well worth it! Don’t regret one decibel hearing loss!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Thats cause they are great bands that dont sell out! They dont try to be cool. And they evolve without getting worse. And they are all even better live. Everytime I go to a Chevelle concert.. when they do the soundcheck and all of a sudden you feel the subdrops... You already know they will do The Clincher, Comfortable Liar, and Wonder Whats Next. Gotta love them live!
First song I learned to play on the drums. I am 38 I started drumming at 36. I have progressed greatly according to my mentor that happens to be my younger brothers father he has been drumming for years. He was in many small time bands. He was asked to join ballbreaker the acdc tribute band.

I have said it time and time again. Chevelle being my favorite band, for many reasons. So consistent, relevant, heavy, melodic, metaphorical lyrics. By far the most unique modern rock band in my opinion. Can't wait to catch them on tour!
Chevelle, thank you for making some of the sickest music out there. This new song is great. Looking forward to the new album, and seeing you guys live!
This is easily the best Chevelle album so far. The instrumentals shine and the album flows so well. This is my favorite song off the album, cause the vocals in it are awesome!

Just the pure joy and excitement I get out of new music from Chevelle makes me feel like a kid again- when Christmas was still fresh and new. I can't wait to get my pre-ordered and signed copy AHHHH!!
Chevelle kicks ass. It's the only band that I can say that I like every single song, on every album. I don't see where their sound has changed all that much. I've been a hardcore fan since Point #1. They Rock.
The title of this track is just plain badass. HUNTER EATS HUNTER. Two fearsome things and one comes out on top by consuming the other. Fucking hardcore
I'm not sure if it'll make it more or less hardcore but this song is about a random thought Pete had, a hypothetical scenario where he's taking out the trash and encounters a Gargoyle xD
so glad to hear pete scream again ... chevelle fan since 2000 and i must i am looking forward to this album more than any since wwn ... chevelle is never disappointing ... love the break down ....
i remember first album i actually bought as a kid was point #1 and wwn. sat in my room played madden and nhl all day listening to chevelle the good ole days
I know this is an old comment. But, if you haven't heard P.O.D.'s cover it's worth a listen. I know they're nu-metal and all. The cover is pretty straightforward metal though.
Chevelle have never lost anything since the beginning and they are there own entity without a shred of Tool added. Album after album without disappointing the fans like myself and keeping it real by not veering far from the sound that got them where they are. A formula that has worked for great bands like AIC. You can't argue with that!!
+Destiny White I just found out about Nothing More not too long ago, and they kick ass. Chevelle has been my favorite for quite some time now, though. Nonpoint is cool, but I've only heard like, 2 songs. Still, great music all around. A+.
+Trinity Bingham same here I found out about nothing more couple months ago & instantly fell in love. they are amazing! so are chevelle & no point. my top 3 ❤
Awesome! Back to the roots: Thick Helmet soup with a sprinkling of Tool and that signature spice that makes it oh-so-yummy Chevelle! Songs like this are what make Chevelle my favorite band. April 1st can't come fast enough!
"When hunter meets hunter, this hunter eats hunter." I dont really know what it is but something about that line and the way Pete sings it has always blown me away. This song is possibly the closest Chevelle has ever been in my opinion to being pure metal, and as a metal head and a huge chevelle fan growing up, i have to say im ok with that.
IMO, the best thing about Chevelle is how they have learned to differentiate while still maintaining that consistent sound they've had since Wonder What's Next. Awesome band. Awesome music. And for the record...they aren't really brothers (by blood) anymore.
Saw them live when Sci-fi crimes came out they were touring with Staind, they blew my mind live, hadn't heard of them before then. and became a forever fan. They sound bad ass live!!
What the serious fuck . . . I can handle the TOOL comments. Every Chevelle song in the history of ever has attracted that nonsense. Nothing new there. But the negative comments saying that Chevelle have changed their sound for the worse . . . lolwut? This isn't a far stretch from the other records they have produced. Are you new to Chevelle or something? Take a look at 30 Second To Mars. Compare their self-titled to their latest record and then you'll hear what it's like when a band abandons their sound for the worst. Learn to differentiate. I just fail to see how people take one of my favourite things about Chevelle; how they stay true to themselves but consistently release records which have a new flavour, shall we say, and turn that into a bad thing. They're still amazing. Calm your tits.
I agree 100 %, every bands first album is way different from there most recent, chevelle, staind, limp bizkit, taproot, korn, deftones, there always different, i usually prefer the older stuff more because its usually alot more heavy
Agree, they have always had small and most of the time kaizen changes. From listen to this single the next studio release follows their road map, one out of many reasons they are my favorite metal band
Agree, they have always had small and most of the time kaizen changes. From listen to this single the next studio release follows their road map, one out of many reasons they are my favorite metal band
Ever since started listening to these guys there music gets better with each listen... no other music artists can do that for me... I get burnt out with other bands or they fade with time... these guys are no. 1 for me
Close enough for genius, far away not to plagiarize. Nice crunchy fat guitars, tuneful, bouncy bass and a great vocal delivery. I won't point out the obvious vocal likeness to you-know-who but these guys do have an individual sound.
Had this album on pre order and it doesn't disappoint at all! It's heavy, dark and in your face. If you like Chevelle you'll love this album, I think it's their best work yet. From start to finish it's dope
Tool and Chevelle is both my ultimate favorite bands their sound is amazingly unique. Does Chevelle and Tool sound similar? Hell No, not even a little bit. Because they have this signature within their music, you can never confuse them with any other band. When he screams, its just Pete screaming in his way, not like Maynard. These 2 bands shouldn't be compared, they are incomparable. (In my opinion) When it comes to this album I believe Chevelle has grown into their own sound and on their way to perfecting it, I love their passed albums but if you listen to all of them up to la gargola you can see how each album works it way up to this, and you just gotta love it! ;D
People are already complaining about this even though the album isn't even out yet? How about you wait until it's released and then make an opinion. So what if they've changed their sound slightly it keeps things fresh and new. I like both old and new Chevelle. If you don't then that's fine. Just stick to what you do like.
Brought tears to my eyes hearing them. I was grandly excited that there are still fabulous bands out there, such as Chevelle still making amazing music such as this. I had almost given up hope with all the bloody Hipster/Indie/ folk rock crap out there. LOVE both of the tracks I have heard thus far and I shall be sure and purchase the album to show my absolute support for them!
Really reminds me of Vena Sera which im so happy about cause I think thats one of there best albums. Has that slow heavy, head bobbin groove we all love. Chevelle never lets me down.
I'm 53 years old...grew up on Sabbath, Zeppelin, The Floyd, Rush, Metallica etc etc...This old man LOVES CheVelle!!
J Davis 🤘 love these dudes
I'm 51. Same thoughts. Chevelle is all I listen to lately. Day after day, month after month. Love Chevelle!
I’m 46 and grew up on all of the above and I love Chevelle. I just saw them live in Houston on 9/4🤘🏻
Someday I'll be like you
LIVE IN METAL SIR🤟🏻
I'm 51 and my neighbors have been pissed off since the 70's... Chevelle would've fit right in at night when ZROCK played the Head Bangers Ball 😬
La gargola is one of the best albums ever made, it's a masterpiece from start to finish
This is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘
Listening to Chevelle can get pretty addictive. No regrets. Loving this band.
this is so damn good, this band is so fucking underrated
I wouldn't call them underrated. They get good reviews. They just aren't that well known.
The Hunter Gatherer That's underrated. At least that's what I call underrated.
***** none the less, i really enjoy them ^.^
The Hunter Gatherer Really? I wouldn't even say they aren't well known; I think only people who simply don't listen to this kind of music would not know Chevelle...
10 Years and Janus are two other good rock bands not many know about, and they sound similar to Cheville you might want to check them out.
This is why I love Chevelle. With each new album, they evolve their sound and change things up, but still keep that classic Chevelle style. None of their albums sound the same, but they stay true to who they are even so.
Listening to the percussion and bass, there's lots of evidence to show that these guys were very heavily influenced by Chevelle.
Best comment on here.
Agree. A comment of someone who has listened to their whole discography and just does not happen to be here like most of the people commenting
Ella jarvis Metallica one
paraTRUEper Dude they weren't influenced by chevelle they are Chevelle.
Beckham Roth The Home Of Animations And More! woosh
Interests all aside, let's be real these guys have been one of the most consistent rock bands.
Is anyone else fascinated by how certain words are not just pronounced but their shape and sound in certain singer's voices? I get such joy from listening to each syllable. (I'm sorry, I wish I could be more eloquent about how this song makes me feel.)

He has one of the best in the biz, for sure.

werdna chapy ;)
The one at 3:24 gives me chills, my favorite one of his screams
Chevelle is TONS better than half of the rock bands now days!!
Like who?
***** Better than BVB
Better than LP? Not in my opinion. I love Chevelle, but Linkin Park is fucking awesome!
***** Nah their better than 1D & 5SOS
+Tyke Robertson Nope. Old Linkin Park was awesome tho.
People moaning about them sounding like Tool but how's that a bad thing? Tool is awesome and so are Chevelle.
I love that they sound a bit like tool. Tool is one of my favourite bands
The idiots meant, reminds them. Who dosen't remind someone of someone else?
People are mad because they aren't tool and deserve their own recognition, they are a unique sound and style.
A tool is something I use to work on my Chevelle , haha only joking. Indeed
Am I the only one who doesn’t get this correlation? They sound literally nothing like Tool to me
I love Chevelle guitar riffs. There always so crunchy and metal heavy. Glad these guys kept there original sound throughout there albums.
Bruh everyone says this band and that band is underrated but those bands can't compare to the truly underrated CheVelle!
This is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘🪖
Chevelle is one of those bands where you hear any of their songs on a mixed playlist. It's immediately Chevelle for the rest of the day.

LYRICS:
I grabbed a flashlight
Just like I always do
Walked depths of night
And now I'm telling you
Well, I saw a pair of eyes
And I'm sure they saw me too
Don't ever, never run
Hell yes, I'm going to
How long should I feel like bait now?
Wide open, careful where the mind goes
Moonlight, a superstitious glow
If it's my time, well, I'm going out alone
You ever tried to hold your breath?
Well, here's a tip, don't follow through
You feel the nightmares never end
And now it seems it's coming true
No one should see what I can see
It's up to you with weakened knees
That little creep just grabbed my arm
It's gonna be the longest night
How long should I feel like bait now?
Wide open, careful where the mind goes
Moonlight, a superstitious glow
If it's my time, well, I'm going out alone
Alone, oh-oh
Alone
Alone, oh-oh
Night, you're afraid of mine another family
Better not divide when it's armed
With it's beastly doom, I'll beat this jackal down
This interference ends, I'll send it back beyond
When hunter meets hunter
This hunter eats hunter
When hunter meets hunter
This hunter eats hunter
How long should I feel like bait now?
Wide open, careful where the mind goes
Moonlight, a superstitious glow
If it's my time, well, I'm going out alone

Pre-ordered it the day it was available. Man I can't wait, looking like yet another solid album by Chevelle!
You can always tell its chevelle.

This is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘
Sure hope so cause to this point, THEY AINT GOT SHIT FOR CREDIBILITY lol!!!! This would definitely give a boost!!!
so glad to hear pete scream again ... chevelle fan since 2000 and i must i am looking forward to this album more than any since wwn ... chevelle is never disappointing ... love the break down ....
love Chevelle!
"I saw a pair of eyes..I'm sure they saw me too...."
+Araceli Gonzalez-Albarran You ever tried to hold your breath?
Well here's a tip, don't follow through
You feared the night must never end, now it seems it's coming true
If its my time, well i'm going out alone..
I'm thrilled to hear another brilliant Chevelle song. Keep fueling the Rock solid fire fellas!
every line in this song is so fucking badass i love this song so much
This is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘🪖
@@beezybeez7231 I'll check that out at some point
@@reneablackheart9563 🤘
i remember first album i actually bought as a kid was point #1 and wwn. sat in my room played madden and nhl all day listening to chevelle the good ole days
chevelle should cover that old U2 song "bullet the blue sky", adding their sound to that song would be f***ing epic
Chevelle, nonpoint and nothing more are my favorite bands
Destiny White Nonpoint are great!
Destiny White Nothing More.
+Destiny White Completely my point! Great/
+Destiny White I just found out about Nothing More not too long ago, and they kick ass. Chevelle has been my favorite for quite some time now, though. Nonpoint is cool, but I've only heard like, 2 songs. Still, great music all around. A+.
+Trinity Bingham same here I found out about nothing more couple months ago & instantly fell in love. they are amazing! so are chevelle & no point. my top 3 ❤
I love how stripped down the album is. It's so straight forward, even for Chevelle and yet it still is just pure Chevelle.
On my top 10 Chevelle Favs!
Awesome! Back to the roots: Thick Helmet soup with a sprinkling of Tool and that signature spice that makes it oh-so-yummy Chevelle! Songs like this are what make Chevelle my favorite band. April 1st can't come fast enough!
I'm glad Chevelle is still doing their thing. They're fucking solid
I love how they are posting some new stuff on youtube so everyone can enjoy it, not just a minute clip teasing us all
"When hunter meets hunter, this hunter eats hunter." I dont really know what it is but something about that line and the way Pete sings it has always blown me away. This song is possibly the closest Chevelle has ever been in my opinion to being pure metal, and as a metal head and a huge chevelle fan growing up, i have to say im ok with that.
It's SO hard to pick a favorite, but this very well be my favorite Chevelle track of them all... Goddamn... \m/ \m/
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf “ or “”Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🐺🤘🐺🤘🐺
Literally every lyric in this song is pretty much bloodborne. It’s sick as fuck
This is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘🪖
IMO, the best thing about Chevelle is how they have learned to differentiate while still maintaining that consistent sound they've had since Wonder What's Next.
Awesome band. Awesome music.
And for the record...they aren't really brothers (by blood) anymore.
OMG this song. This album. And The North Corridor. \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/

Glad I'm getting the limited edition version with Pete's face, but this album art is great too!
This song packs a punch! Awesome.
Saw them live when Sci-fi crimes came out they were touring with Staind, they blew my mind live, hadn't heard of them before then. and became a forever fan. They sound bad ass live!!
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf “ or “”Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🐺🤘🔥🤘🐺
Clypsoh its true bro old school stuff its much better then now!!
Agree, they have always had small and most of the time kaizen changes. From listen to this single the next studio release follows their road map, one out of many reasons they are my favorite metal band

as sir 2 chainz would say your'e statement is truuuuuuuuuu
Ever since started listening to these guys there music gets better with each listen... no other music artists can do that for me... I get burnt out with other bands or they fade with time... these guys are no. 1 for me
Exactly.
(In my opinion)
When it comes to this album I believe Chevelle has grown into their own sound and on their way to perfecting it, I love their passed albums but if you listen to all of them up to la gargola you can see how each album works it way up to this, and you just gotta love it! ;D
This may be the heaviest song they've ever written in my opinion.
I know you wrote this 6 years ago but songs on The North Corridor have this beat for heaviness lol
One Of The Heaviest Alt-Metal Bands
This is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘🪖
People are already complaining about this even though the album isn't even out yet? How about you wait until it's released and then make an opinion. So what if they've changed their sound slightly it keeps things fresh and new. I like both old and new Chevelle. If you don't then that's fine. Just stick to what you do like.
i actually accidentally found this while looking for a hunter x hunter song, and this is one of the best accidents ever.
Chevelle is a solid band, recomendada 👌
SAME
Love the sound, power in every cord. Vocals are epic and more refined. Well done keep up the awesome work.
Hard Core anger fueled music. I hit triple digits on my speedometer a few times while jammin Chevelle
This is so good but you must hear “Glory” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘🪖
Solid. Can't wait for the Album.
I think the band's finally grown up. Thank God.
I think you are an idiot.
Luke Gearheard yep
Yep yep
Brought tears to my eyes hearing them. I was grandly excited that there are still fabulous bands out there, such as Chevelle still making amazing music such as this. I had almost given up hope with all the bloody Hipster/Indie/ folk rock crap out there. LOVE both of the tracks I have heard thus far and I shall be sure and purchase the album to show my absolute support for them!
What a nice surprise to start my day :) can't wait for April 1st!!
Ohhhhh this ones a lot better than the first track released. Great scream in the middle, reminds me of emotional drought
This is bad ass! After this and Take out the Gunman I can't wait for my CD to get here !
no doubt mine ships on 3/26
I don't like the Take Out The Gunman song but I really like this song. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
An Island is my favorite on this album, the riff in that song is sick... this song is a very close second. Chevelle Rocks!
Tone Zilla Yea it's a good song.
Such a great band, and another great record too!
Love it! Feel like they're going back to their metal roots on this new album. Not quite WWN but it's pretty fucking good!
Chevelle is just one of those bands that I love every single song that they release.
La Gárgola is no exception.
...this hunter eats ....Hunter! Chills
Not going to lie. This song was so good, I had to listen to it again. And again. And again. Jesus it's perfect!
I wonder what's next.
+Helltech This type of thinking could do us in.
+Alchemic Overdrive Or maybe some Sci-Fi Crimes
+Ben Gonia That would be Point #1
+Helltech The North Corridor actually...
+GackylGhaster Yassssss!!
Really reminds me of Vena Sera which im so happy about cause I think thats one of there best albums. Has that slow heavy, head bobbin groove we all love. Chevelle never lets me down.
