Actually in Tolkien’s books characters really often touch each other without any sexual or romance subtext.
Tolkien was a catholic, so he probably even didn’t think in this way

As a dedicated nerd and Tolkien fan, I wish some of the hard core fans would just shut it. It's never going to be exactly cannon. We've been lucky enough to get more content that we've ever asked for from one or our favorite authors. Some of its going to be a hit, some of it a miss, and some of it is us learning to be okay with change/new material. It's like they need to put a warning for us book readers on series/movies: based on the book, but not everything with be cannon to the book, we might even throw in some new material. If this was the Hobbit or LOTR I could understand the gripes. But this? Let's unclutch our Pearls a little people,
And believe me, I throw plenty of fits when stuff isn't cannon to the source material, but just accept this as a Tolkien like adventure. There's barely any good sci fantasy content out there as it is bc it costs so much to make it.
The part where Celeborn arrives in the middle of battle on a ship yelling “Your Savior is Here!!!” Then comes down to Galadriel saying “did you miss me?” Brought me to tears, a true masterpiece

SaurBro will trick KarlMarxason to overthrow "Fairer-than-silver-or-pearls-or-ivory". He will then change his name to "Bigpharmazon", make morgoth-worship mandatory. It's gonna be s@fe and effective but for some completely unrelated reason, the NOOBenoreans will start dying in large numbers.
After Valinor, Lindon and Noobenor, GuyLadReeeElf will continue her quest to get the elves kicked out of 1O9 countries and then blame everyone else for it.
Black0las is gonna commit over 50% of all breakdancing amongs elves, despite making up less than 13% of the cast.
Pr0pagandalf is gonna be good, but not good enough to take a shower.
Tom BoomerBill is gonna take fashion advice from the hobobits.
GigaLad is gonna send G@yL0rd on a quest again to find out something he already knows... again.
Durin Jr. will find out that he is his own father, according to the books.
Isil is gonna kicked out of 3 more schools again, and then spend the rest of the season struggling with his student loan.
The HOBObits are gonna slay their own people again, just to subtly show that their hearts are bigger than their feet.
CelemDingDong, 2nd greatest smith of all time is still trying to find out what an alloy is, and how a 30 year old random human is better than him at his own craft.

well i come from PJ LOTR fan base , im happy that something is happening from Tolkien world. New fan base will be made from younger generations... but i hope that it will inspire young people to read the actual books and see how this series is motivated only by money and that its not true spirit of Tolkien... i mean Peter Jackson at least tried his very best to stay true to Toklien.
instead i come as someone who read the books in the 70s... My grandfather, a soldier in WW2, introduced them to me. And i loved the season 1 of The Rings of Power.
