Yep! Laura revealed in Talks Machina that she wanted to be a warlock with Artagan as her patron, but then Travis stole warlock from her, so she got stuck with cleric. She asked Matt if she could still work with Artagan somehow, and he said something like “we’ll see.” The whole time, Laura was pretty sure that the traveler was in fact Artagan, but with Matt as DM, you never know haha. Here is a comment I made about the Allura reveal: This moment in C2 is so powerful to me. Not only did the players get to meet an old friend (just watch Laura Freaking Bailey's face light up!), but this interaction was _needed._ The players, who had found out the hard way that the "Happy Fun Ball" was not at all what it seemed, were downtrodden, after everything that had transpired. And at this point in time, they needed to know that everything was okay, that they had not failed. It was truly a master stroke of genius for Matt to bring in Allura Vysoren and give M9 the strength of resolve they needed to keep going. And I attribute that to Matt knowing his players so, so well. He knew they weren't feeling the greatest, that their endeavors, their trials, their tribulations was mentally taxing. Mentally exhausting. And here, you get to see how much an NPC means, to a table, that they, the players, care about. How much they care about an old friend and ally. This clip is almost as good as when Gilmore gets introduced in C1.

Oof, I never realized it, but if ever they make it to this in the animated series, and Matt can't voice Artagan, Tom Hiddelston(guy from Loki) should voice him.
I'm afraid Marisha's gotten too used to having so much room to move around because of social distancing... Liam and Travis (but mainly Liam) are so dead when it finally ends. :(
Their first game back with them around the same table, Liam walks away with a black eye. The next week he leaves without the eye. The third week Marisha is seated at a separate table again.
@@jordanpeterson5140 It doesn't help now that Laudna's form of dread means she spreads her arms wide and does the jerky movements. I just watch Sam duck and poor Robbie fight for his safety lol.

0:31 I am just so in love with the fact that it only took half the phrase "Human Woman" for Laura to think it was Allura. They miss Their Wizard Mom so much!
I'll never get over how clever Matt was with Vecna's trick. Not because of the trick itself, but because he planted an opportunity before then to both telegraph to the players the possibility and most importantly provide them the opportunity to reasonably stop the most likely person from doing it. That was the point of the Nothic (I think that was what it was called) that Vax shanked earlier in the dungeon. Matt knew of Liam's view of Vax being kill first question later. This laid out and obvious missed opportunity which could have caused the players and most importantly the characters to have Vax hold back. This made Vecna's trick no only clever... but fair play.
Matt's smile at Vex's damage in the Three Death Knights is... diabolical. That should have been their first clue. :-) When Matt is happy about you, the player. doing damage to his creations in a game... you should know by now you're in trouble. 😂

The characters in C1 were no less fun than in the subsequent campaigns, either (as were most of the players, aside from the one which should not be named).
@@steelangel9039 when have they ever done pre-written, scripted lines?
I was half expecting the Tiberius death reveal in episode 64, but I understand that Matthew has done so many crazy things😂
There might be a part 4. We'll see.
Thanks for compiling this!
However many times I see it, I still shake when they realize who they've just killed and are panicking before being able to revive them.
I just have this image of Matt Mercer tied to a chair in a dark room, being smacked while someone shouts over and over "WHO IS ON THE COUNCIL!?"
Not "a" chair... THE CHAIR! (with a carpet underneath, ofc). That's why he was so traumatized from all the questions about the chair!
The way I'm hyped and scared at the same time to see the Sun Tree scene animated.
I've seen the 3 Death Knights clip before, and every time I re-watch it, my stomach is in a knot the entire way through, especially before the players realize
Thanks a lot for those 3 videos. I really enjoyed watching them and reliving some of the key moments of Campaign one. Thank you a lot :)
nothing quite beats Liam's Mr Mime hands when the realization hits
edit: the snap zoom on Mercer's expression is a close second
That last segment is in a manual somewhere under 'how to emotionally devastate three quarters of your players'
I felt So Many emotions during this video. Bravo!
We got the Sun Tree moment in the show.
Damn.
I love Critical Role.
Omg Matt's smile when Laura says she rolled all 6s 🤣🤣
For the final highlight Matt takes it from crazy plot twists strait to emotional terrorism
If Taliesin hadn't said 5:28, then we would not have had such an impactful moment in CR history...we also would not have had Laudna
Travis’s laughter @ 3:04 & 18:30 gives me life!
"That is a new experience entirely." never blinks, just smiles....
Oof, I never realized it, but if ever they make it to this in the animated series, and Matt can't voice Artagan, Tom Hiddelston(guy from Loki) should voice him.
for the last one you can see mad hold his breath and tighten up to avoid spilling the beans
sam’s reaction to Allura makes me so happy 🥺
I'm afraid Marisha's gotten too used to having so much room to move around because of social distancing...
Liam and Travis (but mainly Liam) are so dead when it finally ends. :(
Their first game back with them around the same table, Liam walks away with a black eye. The next week he leaves without the eye. The third week Marisha is seated at a separate table again.
Liam after the first game rocking there and back: I wanna go back to the box. Box was comfy. I wanna go back to the box.
Or whoever she's sitting next to in Campaign 3.
@@jordanpeterson5140 It doesn't help now that Laudna's form of dread means she spreads her arms wide and does the jerky movements. I just watch Sam duck and poor Robbie fight for his safety lol.
@@blueashke I know, it's been high-larious
Lmao, why do I find them so adorable, particularly in C2 when they come across an NPC that they (the voice actors) "know" but also "don't know" in the context of C2, especially since they're literally all just voices & personalities living in Matt's head?
1:09 Liam's happy dance! 😄
the liam head tilt at the artigan stuff will never not be hilarious to me. "the fuck you say!? 'scuse me!?"
The Sun Tree is pure goooold. The best
Oh my god does the last one get me every damn time
6:15 seeing this moment in the animated series was such a gut punch
Sun Tree: earliest reveal of new PC Crit Role ever had.
7:15
Part 4 definitely needs to include the reveal of Pumat reading "The Daring Trials and Tribulations of Sir Taryon Darrington"
0:51 - Best reaction from Travis I've ever seen!!!
the zoom in on matt's face after he says he wants to unalive vax is SENDING ME
missing my crit role fix right meow.... but they be back this WEEK!!!! heck ya!
Thanks @SpekoGirl for helping us get through the break....i really miss them all.
When Matt is happy about you, the player. doing damage to his creations in a game... you should know by now you're in trouble. 😂
i had forgotten completely about the death knights scene. Matt is truly brilliant, and evil at times, most mostly brilliant
I never noticed it until now but Liam has a NCR shirt on in the third clip and both he and Laura did voices in Fallout NV. Makes me happy
Still have to wait 1 more week for C2 to return. I can't wait much longer, but these videos help
Thanks for posting this again! Love this series
These are my favorite moments and I am so grateful they're in one video so I can laugh/cry
7:18 laudna's first appearance
Sun Tree: earliest reveal of new PC Crit Role ever had.
7:15 Hi Matilda.
omg i forgot how much the deathknights twist hurt
I remember the three death knights part, that was so messed up
I haven't watched Campaign 1 yet, but man. I'm excited with what he'll do with C2. Man.
It’s awesome
The way my stomach sank the first time I watched 113 and the helmets came off
Suggestions for video 4: the Dairon reveal after the Four Corners battle in C2; the surprise 2nd beholder of the campaign at the Sunken Tomb fight in C1; cast learns the fate that befell Tiberius in C1; the assassination attempt on that carriage driver in the basement of Castle Greyskull in C1E27; cast finds out what book Pumat is reading in C2; cast finds out Cassandra is alive in C1; Scanlan learns who exactly Kaylie is in C1; Matt surprises the cast with a white dragon fly by in Whitestone C1E64; Ripley's explosive trap in C1E68; Taryon is kidnapped; the Trispires attack in C2E12 as Matt makes another tower start to fall; three members of MN are kidnapped; Plank King gives his judgement; Fjord fall into a chamber with a blue dragon; Matt spring it on the MN that a Kryn they fought recognizes them while they are w/ the Bright Queen - followed by Liam surprising Matt; Matt shows why Cad's family has been MIA for awhile; Matt reveals who the Traveler really is; Vess DeRogna is found to have had a surprise visitor; Caleb & the MN get invited to diner by Trent;
"I have to go home with you". Lol.
4:55 rewatching this clip after LOVM has come out is so jarring. Especially since I forgot about it in general so my reaction to the animated scene was so genuine
I cannot wait to see the last reveal in the animated series!!!
3:36 I would like to thank the camera operator who chose this moment to zoom in on Matt's face 😂
