You mentioned that your pattern was not going to butt up with other blocks where you need to worry about matching the seams…but wondered what you do if you do need to put four patches together, and how you prepare/manage that. To complicate matters, I sometimes spin the seams on a four patch, but then they really don’t make it easy to put them next to other four patches. I probably should just always plan to butt up to a plain piece of fabric! Thoughts??
If you are going right up against another block, you'll need to plan the seams out in advance so that everything will lay flat. In general, you can press the middle seam of the 1st four patch up then the next one down and alternate like that. I don't get too caught up in it. If I have two seams going the same direction, I just leave it.
