- Israel Defense Forces leaders are concerned that Hezbollah is dragging Israel into a major war in Lebanon, while the government pauses the Gaza fighting to allow for humanitarian aid, including cigarettes.
Hezbollah seemed to reduce its attacks against northern Israel over the weekend as Muslims are marking the four-day holiday of Eid al-Adha. Israel fired back last week as the Iranian-backed group launched its worst attacks to date, prompting Israel to warn about the danger ahead.
IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari stated, "Hezbollah's increasing aggression is bringing us to the brink of what could be a wider escalation, one that could have devastating consequences for Lebanon and the entire region."

But I clearly remember that it was Israel who bombed southern Lebanon first, shortly after October 7th!!!!! In fact, I announced that fact and mentioned it to friends of mine, wondering aloud why Israel would initiate bombing of Southern Lebanon when Hamas was supposedly only in Gaza.

It was given back to Israel in 1948. It always belonged to the Jewish people prior to that all the way back to Abraham. It was only changed when the Roman empire destroyed Jerusalem in AD70 and renamed the country to Palestine in order to break the will of the Jews.
