Nick Krall has added solid players at low/reasonable cost while holding on to the highest prospects. Wish we were looking at 93 wins instead of 83 wins, but this is progress.
CES is an absolute coin flip. As is the entire team. Could literally pull off 90 wins or 75 wins. If the boys bring their nutz with them this year this squad could get scary. Last years bad luck is also possible
They are not below average. They were 15-28 in 1 run games with their 2 best hitters and good run producers out of the lineup. You don't think those guys would have shifted any of those games in our favor? I'm betting we win half those games we lost with them in the lineup. We should have won mid to high 80's at a minimum last season and we are better now.

no higher than a C rating, because the Reds ownership has not stepped up to get high level free agents! The Reds pitching is above average, but the offense and defense is below average. The offense and defense has been especially bad!
@@jeromyt6873 - That would be nice, but the guys cannot hit the ball and team defense is poor. I grew up with the Big Red Machine, do you know how many MVPs and gold gloves they had during the 1970's. The only gold glove the Reds had in years was two by Tucker Barnhart. Everyone knows the offense of the machine, but Concepcion, Bench, Morgan, Geronimo, and Rose all won gold gloves.
@@bostonterrierplanet-bn1ge Have you not paid attention to the climate of baseball? We can't step up. We did on Votto and Bailey and it killed our payroll. It doesn't make sense to have half our payroll tied up on 2 or 3 players. That's why we rebuild and have young talent that's cheap and affordable.
@@jeromyt6873 - They can step up with a trade, even the Big Red Machine did so. Morgan and Geronimo were acquired in a big multi-player deal! However, you are correct in the sense that a salary cap and a salary floor will be necessary very very soon!
@@bostonterrierplanet-bn1ge Even with a trade, we still have to pay them unless it's a salary dump and The other team is willing to pay a large portion of the salary. Plus if we're getting a superstar like that with a large salary they're going to want usually top prospects that we don't want to get rid of. Guys that are going to be superstars and we're going to have four or five years of them super cheap. Guys like Elly and McLain for $800k for 3 years.
Elly, CES, McLain, Stephenson, Hays, Candy are all 20 hr+ guys. Plus we have some guys that make contact and hit a lot of doubles. I would rather have several threats than 1 guy that hits 40. Elly and CES will hit 30+. We have a few that will be mid 20's. We have plenty of power.

Taylor Rogers from the Giants!
I am happy reds are go to win
Everyone trying to sound smart is assuming CES is not a factor. Youre going to be wrong cause CES is a hitter and will prove everyine wrong
I truly think he has Tony Perez type of power. Perez hit for good average, too. I think Strand will be a monster.
I agree, if the wrist is 100%, CES has the year we expected last year.

Awe there's Charlie! Hope you're doing well
Chatterbox Reds is a lot more realistic, these hosts are just fan boys!
Hot stove getting hot
Encarnacion at 3rd... dude's got a big arm and he's athletic
His defense wasn't the best. That's what kept him in the minors so long. It wasn't his hitting.
@jeromyt6873 reps reps reps... hundreds of thousands of reps
I thought he played a good first baseball in 2023... He's no Scott Hatteberg
Reds sign Taylor Rogers
Huge step up
Reds are going to finish 88-74.
I'm hoping for a few more wins, 91-92 would be nice. I think the offense will help us win those 1 run games from last season.
Could this be the year? Reds will win 92 games and go "deep" in the playoffs. 🙂
If they somehow make the playoffs, which is unlikely, they will immediately lose! This is a below average team!

team has no power.
We got Elly Steer Stephenson CES McClain they all got pop
They have to hope for collective power instead of one slugger doing it all.
