  • Kol Nidrei or “All My (unmet) Vows” is the Anthem of the High Holidays that encapsulates the human soul which, by acknowledging both its fortes and flaws, cleaves to the burning desire of transcending the trammeling bounds with new resolutions to come…there is a saying in Hebrew “Kol zman she’haner dolek efshar od letaken”. Once, in a "shtetel" (Jewish hamlet back in the "old country"), a passerby witnessed by the faint, ebbing light of a lantern a shoemaker hammering a nail into a shoe-sole and working laboriously well into the dead of night. He asked him “why do you still work at this unbecoming hour?” To which the showman responded, “as long as the candle still burns there is still an opportunity to fix.” The candle is a metaphor for the soul... Shana Tova!
