Inags, what about if you buy sodas, milk, liquor and other recycle containers, do stores charge you extra, because that is the system in DK and therefore we return empty bottles and others at the stores too. We do not have galoon milk and for those cartoon containers, they are normal trash which we take out to the trash containers as part of the facility where we live, those thrash, we are charge thru our taxes. Do you pay container fee for those emply bottle you just have returned? We use automatic recycling despenser and once it is done and you get a receipt that you can claim a refund if you at the same time is doing food shopping or if not you get refund out of it. Yes, there are also people who do not have much financially, they look for something at the garbage bins to salvage and get refund from the stores, especially bottles of sodas, beers, liquors and juice drinks...is one way to earn extra money. NB - do not return recycling refunds to the bank, otherwise you will be automatically tax for that, for that is considered as an income, the governement gets access of what you have in your bank accounts, if those people on welfare or unemployed or even poor senior citizens (tht do not have extra retirement insurance) shows good standing bank account, they will automatically loss some benefits for the rent, utilities, medications, or some dental aids, then you can not avail of government subsidies. There are those consdered as poor or low income citizens so they get social welfare, but they have their way of spending sprees on food, drinks, drugs or other items, that you call personal priorities and that is why they do not have much money, and they seek empty botttles or recycles to earn money. No one is supposed to live with no money or homeless in DK, but there are anyway because they have other priorities or a lifestyle choice in life and that is something we can not understand nor tolerated by the government.
However there are also smart senor citizens, they do not keep much money in their bank accounts, they keep cold cash at home, it is avoid not getting extra benefits or aids from the government, these people can afford to have a car, nice clothes or even travels. While some married couples, resort to divorce or split for the sake of getting more benefits and subsidies from the government, a single mom with 2-3 children gets a normal income like ordinary workers earning 20k DKK, it is a tactic use to get more help for housing, for children, housephone, that is a necessity for every house in order for you get contact to the system as doctors, hospital, hospital or fire emergency including calls to families and important contacts in your daily life or to your social adviser, each one has to have a social adviser, for those who have work and good income do not seek help from social adviser, but for the low income, jobless, or poor, they always get connected to a social adviser to help their structure their everyday life and economy, but they are also demanded to get a job, if they are able to do so and small kids should be on daycare or school or other custody while single mama or papa is at work. NB...be careful with proforma divorce, there are couple who are faking it, and they meet each other on each of their respective home, there are some random check, and you can eventually lose your benefits or you to pay back once you are back to work.
