Will the LCD fit on top of the mainboard even if I use sockets for the IC's including the microcontroller of should they be directly soldered on the PCB ? Great series !!
It all depends what height are pin headers (male & female) for the LCD. You should use the 8.5mm for the female header. That will give you aprox. 10mm between the boards and you can use sockets for the chips. Thanks for watching ! 😎

What ntype mosfet (SMD package) would you recommend for the i2c level translator ?
2n7002 is suitable, cheap and readily available
