While I think this is usually the case, I actually adore Gaplus & Galaga '88. The pcengine port of Galaga '88 is actually my favorite game ever made

You're right and those are quite good too, but they deserve a full version release for more platforms, maybe even in a "Galaga Museum" collection, without adds and microtransactions.
