I'm hypoglycemic and this has happened to me before too. It is scary! The first time I passed out, I was out for 10 minutes. They thought I was having a seizure. But I now know, skipping meals and not snacking during the day is bad.

Didn’t JJ have a seizure not too long ago? Definitely would talk to the doctor Dallin. Seizure could be symptom of low blood sugar so JJ should get that checked out as well, especially if hypoglycemia is in your family!

I had my IUD for a month than had to it taken out. I would feel like I would pass out, bleed everyday, and have the worst cramps. Definitely understand why you had it removed! Also have dallin follow up with a doctor, and check his labs and have his heart checked with an echo ultrasound to check for any abnormalities. There a lot of young adults with undiagnosed heart conditions that cause them to pass out.

Anytime I start shaking and sweating I definitely start with the chewable glucose and if it is real bad go to the liquids. I get them in the pharmacy area of Walmart , CVS etc.
Let A drive if D is having unknown health stuff. Being Safe is the most important thing!

Had the same problems with IUD
Dallin I'm glad you're okay and you should definitely check your vitals and do blood work twice a year just to be in touch with your hypoglycemia condition. Also Alyssa I'm glad about your IUD removal because it didn't work for you. But, have you considered the pill or an IUD arm implant or maybe condoms?

Alyssa, if you’re thinking about getting another form of BC don’t get the implant! The same thing happened to me and it was miserable. I switched to the BC patch and it’s so much better and absolutely no pain!

I had an iud as well and it made me pass out the first one did due to all the hormones that it had…the copper one was better and didn’t have hormones with it
Dallin may not only be hypoglycemic but he could also have vasovagal syncope. That is when the blood sugar and anxiety mix ( in a nutshell) and makes you pass out and sometimes you shake like you are having a seizure. My daughter has iteven when her sugar is low. Might want yo check into it.
Dal you need to have a complete check up this could happen when your driving or when your alone get a bracelet once you get your diagnosis your body is trying to tell you something
I hated my IUD. I never had a period, but still had cramping. I passed out when I got mine out. So embarrassing! 😱

NOT trying to scare you but, this runs in my family too. It’s Hypoglycemia without diabetes. You need to see an Endocrinologist (not a regular Doctor as an Endo Dr specializes in these matters) and truly get treated as this can happen at any time. Can happen as you’re driving and cause an accident/death. It’s very treatable and easy to follow avoidance. Don’t wait until something bad or worse happens. You’re both too young and healthy for regrets.
We have an appointment made with our regular doctor so we will ask for a referral to a endocrinologist! Thanks for the advice!!

Dallin, I for sure don't want to scare you. But maybe go see your doctor! I have low sugar and have passed out several times because of low sugar and low blood pressure. But I'm also epileptic and the way you describe your espisode sounds a lot more like a seizure than just pass out. The thing is that most people and sometimes even doctors think in seizure only when is the "big ones" but there's a whole bunch of types.
This is the first time I’ve heard someone else who had someone pass out during an IUD appointment that wasn’t the one getting it lol mine was the nurse 😵💫

@@alican5695 yes!!! The assistant nurse it was her first day apparently and she didn’t eat. I was spread eagle in the stirrups and boom down she went.

Hypoglycemia is no joke. 1 thing Alyssa keep candy in your purse and the car. My sister had Hypoglycemia that's how I know about this

I have hypoglycemia and of course it’s different for everyone but for me i can feel my blood sugar drop and i get sweaty and moody so i just have to eat something. everyday i have 5 granola bars with me at all times. i think dallin should probably get it checked out because most people have it with diabetes if he does have it….

His adrenaline was pumping and he passed out. Just the atmosphere of the procedure room can cause this. This is a big heads up for what may happen in the delivery room if you have kids.

It’s possible for someone to pass out from extreme emotions. I’m sure not eating didn’t help either.
Hypoglycemia is very rare unless a person has diabetes.

scary story but funny at end when u shared you/A were pantless during the entire episode...lol. D, please get checked out...altho prob related to you not eating in the morning. Hope u don't pass out when A is giving birth to your kids.
You may want to check if you had a trans ischemic attack or TIA it’s like a stroke. It last a short period of time you are speechless, pale and can be shaking. Anyways you need to take it seriously nothing to be embarrassed about but can be serious if left untreated. Especially if there was any shortness of breath. Tiny blood clot could be responsible.
