The spaces in music are the most magical.
She has been playing piano since she was 6. She has never taken lessons and does everything according to hearing and feeling. She also never had singing lessons.
Their war paint also has significance. It shows the inner emotions to the outside. The strokes under the eye stand for tears and the strokes next to the eyes stand for laugh lines. It stands for the fact that people should not be ashamed to show their emotions and certainly not to be condemned for it.
The other lady is called Silja Sol and is also a solo singer. But until recently it was still part of the band and now wants to continue their own way. She is greatly missed.

It will not be surprising in the least if she will compose a song for James Bond sometime in the future. Always a pleasure to watch your reactions. I just saw an advert for a series which had a song playing through it, and I was thinking…I know that song, I know that song…….and then it hit me that it was an Aurora song….but sung by someone else. I wondered if they couldn’t get the rights to use Aurora herself, so hired others to sing it.
To create magic you don't need more than a guitar , a keyboar and 4 voices ... less is more! Perfect rendition of a classic Beatles song. And thank you for a super nice reaction!

I discovered her a couple of years ago. She has had a niche following for awhile, but is getting better known now. For instance, she got recognition as the “voice” of the North Wind in Disney’s movie Frozen, and performed that at the Oscars for best song….If you really enjoyed her voice, check out her concert at Nidarosdomen….a cathedral in Norway….on RUclips. The acoustics of the space and her soaring, clear, pure voice were amazing.

Aurora made this cover as a "challenge" with just one hour to create and rehearse with her band before broadcasting. Also the same rutine as with the norwegian P3 Cristine Live.
Aurora is a genius.
Magnus is her co-producer. Silja Sol is the female back up vocalist. Freddy is the bass player.
Bjork went to an Aurora mini concert in Iceland. Aurora live at KEXP Iceland. Check that concert out. It was brilliant.

11:05 Her make-up is done this way on purpose: the markings under her eyes represent her tears, and the markings beside her eyes represent the wrinkles she gets there when she is smiling. I get the joke though :) Fun fact: Aurora's eldest sister actually is a make-up artist, and she does Aurora's make-up on occasions like photoshoots and shooting of music videos.

The documentary was filmed in 2015, when she was 19, and is only 5 minutes long. But in those 5 minutes you can really see how wise, gentle, honest and sincere this young woman is.

A genuinely amazing voice. I'm not sure it supplants the Beatles version for me, I felt Lennon had a bit more whimsy to his voice, but it's right up there. I hope the two of you have seen the Across the Universe movie, a story of the sixties told by Beatles songs, very good. This clip is from Triple J, the Oz national radio station, Like a Version sessions where they get artists in to cover songs that may not be in their usual wheelhouse. You need to check out Wilson Pickett covering Hey Jude. The vocal is great but you have to hear Duane Allman's guitar fills. Lead clapton to search him out and he ended up playing the slide on Layla..
She covers the Beatles and Bowie like it, s nothing! I mean it is easier for her singing these music monsters songs because of the classic values that are lasting through the years waiting for someone so special like Aurora to bring the juices back for today fans.

This is gorgeous. I'd love for you to do a Beatles week and you could just do your top 5 faves. BUT you should consider doing a Triple J Like a version week. The Wiggles did a fabulous version of Elephant which won the Triple J hottest 100 last year (it is really good). Also Whitley's Dancing Queen... which is probably my all time fave Like a Version cover But this is now up there!
