Truly I hope all this talk about transformation means that he is coming back one way or another, the Sin War characters are the biggest part of the lore, and now that Inarius and Lilith had the base game of D4 for themselves, I'd love it if we could delve into the lore of the Firstborn or the Edyrem...
I seem to recall Bul-Kathos appearing in the Sin War trilogy books, and that he was the very earth itself that humanity walked on. That would be very fun to see him make an appearance.
They Edyrem were pretty short lived, there isn't much more to say about them than reading The Sin Wars trilogy. They were just followers of Uldyssian, and they lost their powers and memories after Uldyssian sacrificed himself. Basically, if anyone ever became as power as Uldyssian, the entire world would be destroyed because that much power can't be controlled.
@cormacbevins9679 He did. He and the other Nephalem are still unaccounted for. Some are said to be dead, others worshipped as gods, and some simply vanished. Bul-Kathos seems to have an affinity for the earth, but he is not, in his own words, a master of the elements as Esu was. They say he sleeps under Mount Arreat, there's so much potential there.
People can say what they want about necros being evil in various media outlets, I absolutely love how diablo breaks that mold and they're essentially the best of the heroes
After hearing this prophecy so many times and seeing what happened in the story so far and where it's going, it seems very likely that it still didn't happened... the desert jewel it mentions might actually be Lut Golein and the hatred's heart that is pierced might in fact be Mephisto's. Guess we'll see soon enough!
I hope this means he'll be back in the future. I was pretty bumbed that they would kill off such an important character. I held out hope that being a Nephilem necromancer, he would just resurrect or become a constellation like Trag'oul. If I recall, it's been a few years since I've read "The Sin Wars", Trag'oul is "chained" the stars as the Dragon constellation, and there are others like him. Maybe after we take out Mephisto, things are gonna get cosmic.
@blaynegreiner9365 Exactly, I see no reason for the devs to drop this unless he's making a comeback in the next expansion. If they can rework Sorc Enchantments before then, I might decide to buy Vessel of Hatred.
4:41 Lillith is *definitely* my favorite character. "I do not seek to save, but to empower." It's so different than controlling, using, consuming, subjugating, seeking worship, etc. A unique motivation. It saddened me how many Diablo fans saw her as a stock villain who simply lied about her motivations (secretly being a stock villain). Makes me empathize with her plight, from wanting something different.
Even if she wanted something different, she went about it the same way Prime Evils did. She proved herself no better than her father. She had good intentions but went about it such a evil and twisted way that the wanderer and users were bound to oppose her. I wish she was more diplomatic and less culty/kill your children to save your children.
Rathma was the first necromancer but he's not the only Ancient that represents a modern class, Bul-Kathos was also around during Rathmas time as well as other ancients. So... Not really lol.
@@phrozenliquidz Rathma and Bul-Kathos are both ancient figures, but Rathma predates Bul-Kathos. Can someone explain to me wth is that balance they talk about? It makes no sense to me... balance is awakening the dead and exploding corpses? Necromancy? Im lost.
"The Balance is the even distribution of Light and Dark. Its essence is most significant to Sanctuary, but it goes beyond, to all of creation. A world where Dark rules will burn itself up. Here, I feel it's a bit lost under 20 pages of filler text & blablabla, and kinda cute drawings, and I don't leave the video with any real powerful image or phrase in mind, but the very last text panel (much more diablo-like) A big chunk could have been a slowly burning genealogic tree, from top to bottom, with roots of successive guardians trying to distance the flames, side-struck by religious dark shadowy images of crucial moments that passes and fades into darkness, as a final jade glow of undeadness comes from the abyss, to the rescue of the burning tree, and for Rathma's will and purpose. Or other moody piece. Like Rathma silently recollecting its unspoken origin, for a very long moment, under a tree & family growing old and crumbling to dust and darkness before his slow gaze, as his future gloomily glows all around him. I don't know. I feel there's more justice to bring to those juicy lore videos, that's all xD
